  1. While it's On, flip the power switch off and on, sometimes when you switch the camera battery the monitor stops getting a signal and needs to be cycled off and on to start receiving the signal again. Try it.
  2. The survey answers would be a great way for a new manufacturer to acquire info, pros and cons of different systems, etc.. before starting to build something. BUT.... being that every human being is different in some way or another there are going to be folks who are feverishly defendant of one particular brand or another, so an exact answer would not bet acquired. There are Major Manufacturers and Smaller Manufacturers, some of the small ones make products that outperform all the others,( in some folks opinions) and some of the bigger ones make better known systems. I love competition! Good luck on your search. And if your in a bind, reach out to a Moderator to help you with your name change.
  3. Adam, I'm no expert on that particular prop, but from the pictures I believe that it's only the Arm and vest that you need and not the sled. In some of the pictures the arm looks to be a Model 2, or early Model 3 arm. The vests are out there for about $1500 in the used market, sometimes even less and those arms would be like $4,000 at most since they're not 3a's or Luna modified arms. Good luck, Im happy to see someone going the extra mile to get it done right.

  5. Yep, that's the 6" Cinemonitor HD6 Classic, the first generation. I have one, it's great.
  6. Hi folks. In the past I would get the post clamps from GPI along with a black delrin disc that slid over the arm post and rest on the docking clamp, making it easier for the gimbal arm to slide around when using arms like the 3A which does not have the "power steering" adjustment. GPI no longer stocks these. anyone know what the part number would be for these and where? McMaster Carr maybe? Thanks, Ozzie
  7. Long ago, I asked the accountant at a Barry Diller owned TV station with 300 employees who he used as an accountant.. He told me, and I've been with him for the last 14 years. A few years ago a production company who sends me 1099's each year Filed exactly Double the amount they paid me with the IRS, So the IRS came knocking with penalties, fines, etc.. Just gave my accountant the letter, he figured it out in like 2 days, wrote the IRS a scathing letter basically spanking them, they wrote back 2 weeks later saying thank you for clearing that up and I was now fine and no money was owed. He tells me when I should deduct something and when I should not. The Tax preparation is definitely not cheap, and some years I have to file in several states, because some of the jobs I do take me out of state for several weeks at a time, It's always been worth it and I always have peace of mind with him. PS, I'm not incorporated, Just me, paying self employment tax each year. I know if I incorporated I would keep more money, like 15% more, but that money would come at a cost of more time for me in preparing the taxes and filling out forms for the minutes in meetings,etc... and paying myself from my corp etc.. I rather not give that time way to paperwork. So I pay more in taxes, Keep a great Personal Liability policy and Equipment policy and live quite content.
  8. Hi folks.2 for sale.work great I've had them several years, purchased them directly from AB. These have the display on the side. The latest generation I believe, They live on the charger as they should. Perfect for keeping the sled short when you need more weight on the bottom. Never been dropped, fantastic batteries. $400 for both shipped in the US. I'll add pics in a short while.
  9. Hi folks, With so many folks switching to the cine live, there should be a few of these laying around in your closets and cases and on shelves. Looking to buy if the price is right the following cables 24" or longer Pro 2 (3pin) to female D tap Pro 2 (3pin) to xlr 4 female. Pro 2 (3 pin) to Arri (alexa, 435, SR3) 2 pin 24 volt Email me what you have at Ozzie@silverafilm.com Thanks, Ozzie
  10. That is absolutely the right bracket to use Philip, I wish I had it on Monday. I have the Kamio 6 clamp on ring lightswith and w/o the filter stages and those are very nice as well. The Litepanels one is bigger in diameter Here it is on a short zoom on an Epic not a very good pic, but I'll try and get a sharper one.
  11. Those FMG .6 motors work great and will work with any analog system. Unfortunately it is difficult to find repairs for them, but I believe here on the forum there was some talk about someone repairing or looking to start repairing them. Don't know where though. If the Motors are working then they are still worth good money. Good luck
  12. Hi there, if you have a Prolite with the quick release top and bottom base, make sure that when you get a new post that your knurled rings are the thick ones for the longer threads on the new style posts. At some point in the past, the pro posts went from less threads on the ends to more threads and the locking collars also got thicker.
  13. Just yesterday I was operating the Movi on a picture here in town, next to me was Brian N. with his Cinetronic Gen 2, We were tracking the talent next to each other I could glance over and look at his Cinetronic gen 2 and see perfectly his shot, sometimes he was right next to me, and at times almost across from me doing the reverse, I could still see his frame and adjust my shot accordingly.. PS, He was on an F55 and the signal was from the camera to the sled, and down thru the GPI post straight into the Gen 2, No Blackmagic, No Decimator, I don't know how the Terradek Bolt was fed, but it all worked great. That sucker is bright! My gen 1 is very bright and view able as well.
  14. The XCS Ergo handle has allowed me to sell my F bracket long ago, never have to flip the gimbal either. I'm sure there will come a time where I would need it, but it hasn't in the last 5 years since getting the Ergo handle.
  15. If the monitor your using works in sunlight and hasn't let you down, no reason to upgrade, keep cashing the checks. Otherwise, Rob's Cinemonitor HD8 Evolution monitor would be a fantastic main/back up, or camera top monitor. has several different artificial horizon level versions, Super bright, Tally, Wave, False color, Focus assist, you name it. And it's a Transvideo. feed it anything and get a crisp reliable picture everytime.
  16. I almost spilled my Louis Xiii cognac reading that last part. But if we're talking about the SmallHD here. It is impressive.the features are out of hand!!
