  5. Gary Camp used to do it for a while until he separated his shoulder. Bob Gorelick did quite a bunch. Chris Haarhoff was on it for a couple of episodes. Greg Lundsgaard did a couple. Colin Hudson was on for several episodes. I have seen pictures of Andy Shuttleworth on the set of Lost... It seams as if they couldn't hold on to the operator for to long... I wonder why? Jungle, Beach... running in sand and salt water... wait I'm starting to get a glimpse...
  6. I knew we had a very detailed thread in the past... but I just can't find it... oh well. http://avp.ugo.com/?cur=m56-smart-gun-aliens http://www.yourprops.com/view_item.php?movie_prop=10812 http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/projects/aliens/m41.htm http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/02...-mounted-rifle/ http://www.bookrags.com/wiki/M41A_pulse_rifle http://www.harryharris.com/atoz.htm It is current again as there are rumors that Ridley Scott has shown interested to do another Alien Movie...: http://screenrant.com/ridley-scott-looking...lien-ross-7015/
  7. So I ended up deleting a bunch of pictures... Which makes some of the archives redundant. Several topics/threads where answered just by pictures or references to attached pictures that are now floating around without them... I tried just to delete my old for sale adds... but that is not enough. I either have to loose a bunch or stop adding new ones... If the reduced space is do to cost, I offered several times in the past to pitch in with funds... have no problem to pay monthly, yearly dues... But to compromise user friendliness for savings... Just my 2 cents.
  8. Hey Charles, I didn't do a side by side, but the Boxx struck me way wider then the Transvideo. The Transvideo is fatter but again it's a prototype, versus the Boxx that claims to be the final size.... we will see. I'm not happy with either of the sizes... including the Camewave.
  9. That is one way to go... The bank fees do vary between $25.- and $50.- per transaction and side... That means the person that sends it has to pay a fee as well as the receiving party... and it might not be available for immediate withdrawal... (The transfer for the bank is such a complicated process they have to make sure that the founds are real and checking you for terrorist activities... actually making another penny with that money as it's "floating" for up to a week and not being in either account... the poor banks have to make some extra money... you understand right?) You can ask for a certified bank cheque (check). That is drawn in your currency and is basically cash, costs the purchaser to create (it's free if you are a Business account holder) and does not cost anything for the seller as it's just another check deposit. (Again the bank has to make sure that the check is real... actually making another penny with that money as it's "floating" for up to a week and not being in either account... the poor banks have to make some extra money... you understand right?) Or Paypal. As long as you pay from account to account it's free. On bigger transfers (I think $3000.- plus) there will be a small fee, a couple of bucks if I remember right. (And again the money is floating for sometime... but at least it's cheap.) But whatever you do, get the money first, make sure that it clears into your account (The Nigerian pansy scheme) before sending the equipment, be cautious about hand delivered checks from third parties. Know Your Buyer/Seller and verify address and make sure they are real before any transaction takes place. It's easier to track money than it is to track equipment in shipping... Generally be a little more on your toes, if it goes over seas... either direction. Just my 2 cents...
  10. Hi Chad, You are not the first to ask that question and you will not be the last. It was discussed in the past a couple of times... It's a very popular "costume" for Halloween... http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?sh...9&hl=aliens You can either go the more accurate route and buy decommissioned steadicam parts, that is the more expensive route but you will get the genuine article. Try: Derrick Whitehouse and let him know that you are looking for "junk" and not for working parts as your gun might be five to then pounds (make it light, as you have to walk around with it and it will be tiring very quickly)... and does not need to support 50 to 60 lbs as the original full functioning arm would do... so you don't need Titanium springs... that's why you are paying the top dollars. http://www.whitehousesteadisales.com/index.html Or you can build it yourself. These guys build there own... you need a machine shop and skill and a lot of time: http://homebuiltstabilizers.com/ Or a combination of all of the above... Depends of how much money and time you want to spend on that... Here a picture of Colin Hudson at Halloween a couple of years ago... That is an expensive costume as he is using his original model 1 Vest and a brandnew PRO arm... and a homebuild gun... Good Luck and let us know.
  11. I have a brand new 435 Lowmode bracket. $500.- it's yours. Erwin steadicam@landaucamera.com
  12. So, I also finally reached my limit at 29.3 megabite... oh well that's it for pictures... I guess.
  13. I guess not... it just told me that I have no more space to upload pictures... Oh well so much from me then....
  14. There we go the TM4.. the newest charger in the T-series. Simultanious charging and dedicating 70 watts to each battery versus 70 to all four... Has a new design and it has grown... but not bad for a 280 watt charger... it's an addition and not a replacement, so you will still be able to pick up the TWQ... her some pix. And then I'll start a separate thread on the next generation chargers... including solar....
  15. I like the duo Preston MDR setup... does that mean that we now have to buy a second piece of gear we never touch? Nice job BJ...
  16. Marianne was kind enough to show it to me at the show. It's a Transvideo, what can I say... Sturdy and compact. Picture looked good but they admitted that there where some software related glitches (I was there for about 30 minutes and I saw maybe two...) . The unit shown was a prototype, by the time it's ready to ship it will be all taken care of... The receiver is the same size as the transmitter... they will package them accordingly to demand... like 2 receivers and one transmitter or 2 transmitters and 1 receiver, etc... Here some pix... Oh look it's Chris!!!
  17. Didn't care much for it... it was almost twice the width that they said it would be... And the antennas... I can only imagine what my grips would do to them... And nothing nice comes to mind. Oh well.
  18. Van... definitely Van... And when you are not hauling gear, you can have Ron fly around in the cargo area.... but make sure you put some plastic down first... he is not house broken...
  19. You are kidding, right? The SRW-9000 is the proof that Sony hates us. With the F23 and F35 at least they gave us the choice. What now? I know, Michael Bravin said at the BandPro booth that that is like the A-camera... but how many time did you in fact fly the A-cam as it's just one shot and we didn't anticipate using it on steadicam... bla, bla, bla... Check the picture... F-900 all over again... just with the added width of the F23/35 body... Good times are coming....
  20. Check: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?sh...amp;#entry44839
  21. Paul Dudeck was so nice and let me go wild at the Anton Bauer booth... I literally took the booth apart, trying to make pictures and compare the different items... According to the website is the HC actually heavier then the 90. 1.8lbs for the HC and 1.7lbs for the Dionic 90, even though everybody at the booth was telling me the opposite... and holding them side by side, the HC felt lighter too. I made some comparison pictures of the two and the HC is quite larger... in the eye of the beholder... Not quite sure if I care much about the "again" new LCD display.
  22. I would call PRO: 818-982-3991 And I'm sure you can pick up a couple and I doubt they would charge you for them. But FYI: Socket Head Cap Screw: 6/32 x 3/8
  23. I would say that that is incorrect, Please correct me if I'm wrong But to my knowledge the Power Cubes where a joint venture between IDX and Tiffen and Tiffen and it's dealers have an exclusive and are the only ones that are selling the battery with that specific cells and spec... It might be similar but not the same battery.
