  2. The one thing we do that separates us from the rest of the world is walking backwards for a living. Not only walking backwards but with many kilos of gear attached to us in the process. You will find that muscle fatigue and failure will set in quickly the first time you repeatedly do take after take backwards not having prepared. So prepare. Find a treadmill. Increase the incline and walk backwards slowly for at least 20 minutes or until the burn is intense. I've found that after 20+ years of Steadicam this one exercise has proven invaluable.
