First demo - Need advice and critics !
Mitch Mommaerts replied to Frederic Borensztein's topic in Steadi-Newbies
Not bad for a newbie. Only advice I have for you is in order to be a good steadicam operator you have to be a great camera operator. Pause random frames in your steadicam footage and ask yourself is this good frame composition, headroom, horizon? Also look for frames which can be improved and seek out techniques and practice them. Gradually work your way up to shooting with 50-85mm lenses and review them as mentioned but at regular speed (slow motion can give you the illusion of being a good steadicam operator). Keep working at it, always trying to improve regardless of your skill level. M[emoji1598] -
Hi Guys, I found out that Camera Essentials no longer has stock and have discontinued the XCS Ultimate Rain Cover Battery/Sled/Monitor. After speaking with Patti, there may be a chance if there's enough interest that they may suss out a way to build more. So I'm just gauging interest. Alternatively, does anybody have any other reusable solutions that work for both regular and low mode protection? Photos would be great too. Thanks! Mitch

PM me if interested and/or if you have any questions! Thanks for looking! Mitch

Hi Everyone! I'm selling my beloved Pro Atlas Arm S/N 038 with Gray Canisters. I bought it new from PRO and am the only owner. It comes in like new mint condition complete with bag, tools and spare parts. I'm selling it because I've somehow accumulated 4 steadicam systems and 5 arms over the years and decided to stay with 2 systems. Available immediately in Canada, US and potentially worldwide. Selling for $10,000 US or $13,200 CAD. Note: I'll be selling a Pro Cine-Live sled, Complete Steadicam Flyer system, and a pair of PRO Black Canisters in the near future as well if interested. PM me if interested and/or if you have any questions! Thanks for looking! Mitch

Hey Guys, how do I adjust the zoom to something custom? Or, am I misunderstanding the meaning of zoom multi-step. I currently only see 1:1, 1.33x, and 10% on my 6" X-SBL. Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mitch

Where to buy? Heden 0.8 Gear Rings
Mitch Mommaerts replied to Mitch Mommaerts's topic in Follow Focus
Just received confirmation. 0.8 gears are twice the price of all others gears at PLC and aren't listed in their website. Hopefully those others places will have them cheaper. (M) -
Where to buy? Heden 0.8 Gear Rings
Mitch Mommaerts replied to Mitch Mommaerts's topic in Follow Focus
Hi guys thanks for the info and replies. Prior to posting I did contact plc directly. Also asked them to double check the price. Or if it was a 3 pack despite the quote saying it was for each. Doesn't make sense but in the interest of time I looking for alternates. Thanks for the suggestions! (M) -
Hi everyone, do any of you know where I can buy spare 0.8 gear rings for Heden M21VE-L's? PLC has them but they're twice the cost ($120) of other gear rings ($60) and I'm not sure why. Hope to have a couple spares on hand. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks! (M)

Cinetronic Gen 2 w/Level

Oh I thought you simply shot it in low mode for us to flip on post. -
Beautiful work Benjamin! I haven't had any issues with the scarlet or epic or any Panasonic cameras I've worked with. So you should be good, but as always try ad test before any shoot.

Nice, another great topic! 3) I put coloured shrink wrap (some people use coloured electrical tape which is also good) around my cables. Yellow for video, Red for power in general but for specific systems such as the reverse pins on a bartech system I use all green, or blue for barrel connectors. Although it hasn't save me yet, it will save those assisting me from using the wrong power cables on the wrong system. I also post the lengths of each cable as well. 4) When I'm shooting in a dark area or at night on rough terrain, I sometimes stick a puck light to the bottom of my rig. This helps my peripheral vision read the terrain when I don't have the luxury of a spotter. Thankfully this doesn't happen often but if it did, I'd likely build something to run off the sled.

Teradek Bolt Pro = LDS Support?
Mitch Mommaerts replied to Mitch Mommaerts's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
That's great to hear about the LDS passthru. Thanks Philip! ps-I had an occasional freezing issue with Bolt 2.0.3 version and through their great tech support I loaded 2.2.4. This solved my issue where the TC would freeze once in a while. Wonder if this would solve your issue as well. Thanks again for you answer! -
Teradek Bolt Pro = LDS Support?
Mitch Mommaerts posted a topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
Hello everyone, Does anybody know if the Teradek Bolt Pro SDI will transmit LDS meta info from the Alexa wirelessly to a Transvideo monitor? Tethered it will display but curious what happens when a Bolt Pro is between. The latest version of the bolt pro v2.2.4 supports rec flags and timecode so I'm just curious if it will also transmit LDS. Any info or confirmation on is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading! -
Hi Kevin I have a brand new pro telescoping monitor bracket which I've been meaning to list for sale. Send me a pm I'm on the road right now and will respond when I get back.

Finished the final phases of my Hyperdeck Shuttle Mod. Not the prettiest job as I don't have the proper tools to work with metal but the final result is much more user friendly for mounting on steadicam or camera back. Final mods include: - Toggle switch to turn on or off the Hyperdeck. Also kills the power in the revers direction if I power the Hyperdeck with the barrel plug. - Added full size BNC terminals - Replaced piece of crap female AB plate with quality slimmer profile AB plate. - Maybe one day I'll replace the Hyperdeck backplate with a new one instead of covering up the holes I made for the other mounts with electrical tape lol. Thanks again to those who shared their mods and helped me with mine. Thanks to Alan for getting me the proper AB Female Plate I originally was looking for.
