  1. I know this post is around 2 years old, but is this still available?
  2. The M2 Case from Tiffen is a Pelican Storm iM2950 with custom foam. The monitor mount comes off the rig to fit in that case. The iM2950 is pretty darn close to the same size as the 1650
  3. absolutely! I bought an Exovest to start upgrading my old Scout HD rig slowly, and also bought the smaller socket block from Tiffen to swap at first. Both blocks have the same screw pattern on the back, so it's a super simple swap. When I bought my G50x arm and knew I would be swapping a bit more often, I ordered a second bridge plate from Tiffen so I didn't have to undo the 6 screws and just needed to unscrew the two giant knobs between the rails to swap sockets
  4. The best two to have is your monitor power cable and a 4p XLR cable. Obviously, you need the monitor cable, but the reason I recommend the XLR one is because you can pick up an XLR to gold mount/v-mount adapter plate and power nearly every camera with the one cable and the adapter. If you also do live shows, that's gonna be a required cable since that's what most broadcast cameras have for power input
  5. I've been using a Scout HD for the last 3 or so years now, and it's definitely not bad. If you do choose to go that route, be sure to pick up the HD version. It's a different monitor and I think different internal cabling. The build quality feels good on it and I picked it up used with minimal issues. Over time I did strip out the screw, pin and block mechanism that locks the dovetail in place, but Tiffen was able to send me the parts to fix it. I think they fixed this on the aero 30 by switching it to the lever system used on all the bigger models. The weight capacity is pretty similar. The two other major changes they've made is that it now ships with the zephyr vest, and also they've replaced the hex screw to unlock and slide the gimbal with a thumb screw, which I really wish I had on my rig. The Scout vest isn't bad, but I wasn't a huge fan myself, so I've switched to the Exovest and have an extra small socket block to work with the arm, which also gives me the option to upgrade later on.
  6. I just got back from the SOA gold workshop. Well worth the investment. The Gold workshop will cover everything from the silver one, but then goes beyond what you would learn in the silver workshop with lots of work in more advanced shots
  7. Looking to start upgrading my rig, and am interested in a G50 or G50x arm, let me know if you're looking to sell one!
  8. Who have you been trying to get in contact with? Tyson Galland is often listed as their Steadicam contact, but he no longer works for Tiffen. Brian Byrne and Nic Somera are the two people you should ask for. If you've been trying to reach them in the last week, they were both down at the SOA West workshop.
