  1. Anyone making a bracket that can hold 15mm rods from the PRO dovetail MDR bracket mounting holes? I'm looking to more securely mount the volt control box off my PRO DB3, there is too much play between the PRO dovetail and the Tiffen dovetail. My other option is to drill a couple more holes in the PRO dovetail to tighten the play and adjust the level. Anyone else have a solution for this? Thanks, Reid

  9. Hey Jon, How's it going? I bought a cable from you a while back. I'm in Rio right now working on a feature. This is my second one since October. I love it down here! I've been coming to Brazil every year for the last 5. Shoot me a message if you want to know about customs stuff and obtaining a work visa. A tourist visa is good for 5 years but you can only spend 90 days at a time and only 180 days per year, unless of course you marry a Brasilera. The features I have worked on require a work visa which means getting a letter from ANCINE through the production company that you have a signed contract with. I'm not sure about sponsoring a company but maybe I can ask someone in the production office about that. I'm here until the end of August. Gente boa! As praias, a cultura, as gatinhas...I could go on and on. It's breathtaking. Tchau, Reid

  13. It's possible to do it with a steadicam but you will probably get better results on sticks. Trying to chase a foal around would be difficult considering the foal doesn't even know what direction it will go let alone you. Besides I don't think the mare would like the fact that some human wearing a crazy contraption is chasing her offspring around. I don't think you would be able to get as close as you need to. Good luck
  14. I just got a roundtrip ticket from LA for $700! Count me in! I will be bringing my PRO sled, vest and arm. I would rather not bring my batteries and stand if the workshop can provide? I have Anton Bauer mounts. Thanks, Reid Looking forward to it!
  15. What airport should I fly into? ESE or BUE Do I need a visa? Thanks, Reid
  16. Amando, Really nice space you have, is that your house? I want to see the other camera angle your girlfriend was getting. Also where did you mount them and how? Do you have any still pics. I'm about to dive into using them myself. Nice job! Reid
  17. I'm debating about buying one of these myself. Anyone out there own one themselves or do you just get production to rent one when you need it?
  18. That is the weight that the arm can support. Therefore you must take into consideration the weight of the sled, monitor and batteries as well as the camera and any accessories on it. Also if your not tethered you'll need a follow focus device and a video transmitter.
  19. How is the swimmer getting into the pool? If he or she is diving your not going to have much time to quick release the camera and hand it off to an underwater operator who will then have to catch up to the swimmer. Hopefully it's not Michael Phelps. Not to mention having to keep the underwater operator and a water safety person clear of the shot. Like others have mentioned before it may be easier to dip the lens of the steadicam shot into the water as the diver penetrates and pick it up with the underwater housing or splash bag entering the water at the same time. You will have a couple frames of distortion anyways on both shots that you can cut with.
  20. Thanks Charles and Charles! You were both right. I have the Aaton cable and I will use the Arri as a backup. Thank you
  21. No, I don't think so. I've never used this particular cable before but the other end of it is like all my other PRO power cables, 3 pin Lemo. I think your thinking of the Aaton 35mm which is 4 pin XLR. This is for the super 16mm. Maybe Erwin can chime in here it was once his cable. Thanks for the reply though.
