  2. John, I have a Bartech w/ an M-One motor and Pro compatible cables. Taking pictures in a few minutes and sending them your way. *2*
  3. Funny how it looks like a lot of us Brits like to fly "goofy"! :P
  4. The above is gospel! It looks a little funky but it does get the weight up top and distributes it better.
  5. Sal's plate is absolutely rock-solid! Unfortunately for me, the Alexa package that I was working with inexplicably had no baseplate adaptor, so I was unable to use it on last night's shoot. Sal's plate -- at this moment in time -- doesn't include a BPA, so make sure that the Alexa package you are using has one. And, no, Matthias' adapter block will not work for this plate as the holes for the cheeseplate screws are centered (on Matthias' block) and not offset as per Arri standard (and per Sal's plate). The setup I was running sounds identical to the one which gave Brooks some concern: Alexa, transmitter, on-board, small primes (super-speeds), and a clip-on running naked. I mentioned to Sal that with the above package (and especially if you're running a shark-fin w/ 2 on-boards, or, a Hytron 140) the camera needs to come quite far forward in the DBox; he's considering adapting the plate so that it can be moved even farther forward to accommodate this need. Big thumbs-up to Sal for making a kick-ass product! B)
  6. Posting for a friend who's looking for a vehicle mount for a Flyer. Garfield mount or something similar to the attached pic. Please send pics & prices to: info@pixelcolony.com Thanks so much!
  7. Just heard this back from production: "...i wont have your cert until Monday, but it just names you as additionally insured, your covered, i just havent heard what the deductible is yet..." Excuse me for pondering this, but, what the bleeding hell does the deductible amount have to do with me? Surely they're not insinuating that I would be paying the deductible if anything happened to my equip while on their production, right? Anybody have an angle/advise on this? Thanks. *2*
  8. Made it through the shoot! Not much moisture, really. I made rain covers for the lower part of my sled using cut-up clear shower curtains and velcro. However, I ended up just saran-wrapping the crap out of everything -- including monitor -- as time was very short. B)
  9. I've been predominantly using 19mm rods on my jobs, however, this past weekend I finally used the Pro rods. Immediately I ran into the problem of not being able to completely secure the Hill brackets to the Pro rods; I could still grab the motor and pull it away from the lens. I got through the job by really cranking on the kipp handles on the Hill brackets and also by holding the motors against the lenses during calibration, but on more than one occasion I had to walk away from the DP and assist the assistants in getting the motors to stay in contact with the lens. Looking to see if anybody has ran into this issue and, if so, what they came up with for a workaround. The Hill brackets work great with 19mm rods; definitely a pain with the Pro's. Attached is a pic of said rods on the plate I'm using with a Hill bracket "clamped" on. Thanks, all.
  10. Copy that, Eric. Now that a loss of performance is a part of the equation I am all for not using any arm covers. Thanks for the advice!
  11. I've read and heard this before, Eric, however seeing how much money I've spent on the arm I figured $50 would go a long way in protecting my investment. Yes, I know I'm being totally anal and over-protective of my baby (which is NOT how I operate!)!
  12. In the possibility that I am unable to find a TB-6 cover to purchase for this weekend, I'm seeing if anybody would have one to loan for a weekend shoot. Could pick up Friday and return Sunday. Oh, and possibly covers for my arm (PRO). Thanks, all! :)
  13. I have no idea if such a product exists, or whether I have to get with my machinist and fabricate one. What I'm looking to do is slip a "plate" into an open Anton Bauer battery slot that I have on my PRO rig so that I have a solid and flat surface upon which to mount my Archos. I know that I can throw it up on the PRO recorder mount but I've -- unfortunately -- been using that for my Canatrans a lot lately. Any responses appreciated. Well, almost! ;)
  14. Nick, I'll take the 2 Dionics off your hands, if they're still available. I'm working until Wednesday; can pick up then! Thanks, Nick. -- Twojay
  15. NICE! Purchased a 5" wrap. Thanks, everybody! B) (Still interested in a stubby for the right price ~$50-ish).
  16. Dude! Call me! If the price is right I'll take it! 510-708-8576
  17. Looking for a stubby Pro wrap-grip. Pic attached. Prefer black or red. Any colour taken, though! B) Will consider the 5" wrap-grip which I could machine down.
  18. The department tried to have a run/stop cable made for the c-motion to trigger the Epic but it failed miserably. Twice.
  19. Welcome, from a fellow Newbie! :) Feel free to ask away, however, do your research first. This site is an amazing resource for Steadicam info. I've spent many enjoyable hours scouring the depths of the knowledge of these amazing operators B)
  20. Called and left a message. I'll be in and out of my place pretty much all day/evening. In Winnetka/Woodland Hills. 510-708-8576
