  1. "...The PV991 HD-SDI Splitter is designed to split a SMPTE 292M video signal into two full-quality broadcast video signals and send them over RG59 coax up to 450 feet..." Notice how it doesn't say two full HD signals.
  2. Goofy is the truth. It is the light. Go goofy. If not for you, your loved ones. P.S. As a goofy Op I have never found a limitation to Op'ing this way. If you think about it, ALL other Op'ing -- save for remote stuff -- is performed by Op'ing from the smart side.
  3. Well, I should hope so! :P Thank you, again, for being the benchmark. *2*
  4. Has anybody, honestly, ever had anybody say anything to them on-set about pulling the t-handle out to make a minor adjustment? This seems like a serious bit of Steadicam-urban-myth. I prefer 4 blues, but if I have a heavier setup, I switch two blues out for 2 black cans before I get to set. Simple.
  5. Brad, The camera actually flies quite nice, however, due to its size I noticed that it necessitates the sled be held a little further from one's midline than other cams. The claims of power draw are, from what I experienced, very exaggerated; For comparison, I swap batteries out on Alexa setups much more frequently than on the F65. My setup: Cam: F65 w / mechanical shutter and w/ recorder and Camwave mounted to body Sled: Pro w/ Gen III Battery Hanger Powered: Off sled using y-cable for F35/Genesis Batteries on sled: 2 Dionic HC's. Run-Stop (Preston): Arriflex/Moviecam 3-pin. Part # 4521 Lenses: Cooke S4 Remote Motors: 2 DM2's Mattebox: LMB-5 w/ eyebrow I used the short PRO Arri cheeseplate. This allowed me to use the cheese-plate-mounted PRO iris rods (long plate put the motors out of the reach of the lens). The only real problem that I encountered was that the setup as described was quite back-heavy and to balance the rig I was having to lose about 3/4" of contact of the cheeseplate with the d-box. I solved this by having the machinist drill a couple of slots into a piece of flat steel bar that I secured under the LMB_5's eyebrow screws. Worked like a charm and I had full-contact with the d-box. Below is a pic of the rig at the camera house.
  6. Practically brand-new and is priced to move; I have a purchase of some still photo stuff coming up for a job. $1400 and it comes in a new Pelican w/ custom cut foam. Has all items pictured in the stock photo attached with a total run-time of one single, solitary hour! NanoFlash Recorder
  7. Thomas, I had an identical problem with my TB-6 during a shoot in the rain. Had to shoot with the "CH 1" emblazoned right in the center of the screen! I received excellent advice from a veteran op, that being to take the casing off of the TB-6 (I think it's roughly 8 Phillips screws) and to let it dry out via natural evaporation (def drain out any obvious moisture). Luckily, I was down for a few days and it worked perfectly when I put the casing back on and sent power and video to it. Hope it works out for you in a similarly-painless-way. B)
  8. Alec, Any ideas on when the Bolt is actually going to ship? I've heard that it was supposed to be in the first part of this month. EDIT: according to their Twitter feed, they will ship in bulk before November. Also, there is a zero frame delay test video that can be found here: Only thing, for our intended purposes, is that there is not -- as of yet -- a distance and zero frame delay test.
  9. I want to say that there was a software upgrade to get rid of that. I remember Jens and Liam mentioning it to me.
  10. This is gospel.I noticed that when I would operate and I was in an "Intermittent Fasting" phase, I was more edgy than normal. Then I went back to eating a small protein-rich breakfast (at home, none of that set food) and I was as cool as an Icelandic cucumber.
  11. Looking for one, please respond with pics and a price to: TwojayDhillon@gmail.com
  12. Just got an email back about Bolt's frame-rates, from Teradek: "...Twojay, Bolt will auto detect most all resolutions and frame rates, including the frame rates mentioned below. Hope this helps! If you have any further questions or concerns please let me know. Thank you for your interest in Teradek and our products!..." This is in response to this inquiry: "I'm wondering if the Bolt will also transmit the popular frame rates found on our professional sets (23.976/23.98; 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 60, etc.)"
  13. I tried that and it failed me twice, when I owned one. One of the many reasons I sent the thing back.
  14. Looking for a non-G4 MDR-2 and a Non-Digital Microforce Zoom Control. Please contact me at TwojayDhillon@gmail.com or call 510.708.8576 Thanks!
  15. Switronix, while great for the price, is very very very cheaply made. The antennas are not really the problem. It's what they screw onto that spins and just gives an incredibly clunky feel to the unit. They really should address this.
  16. Trés cool, Ms. Arthur! I sure could have used some video advice, other than the EFP VHS, when I got the tires spinning! B) B) B)
  17. Carey, I have an HD SuperPost (Bayonet mount) that can be available for rent. Give a ring if you're still looking: 510.708.8576
  18. If that motor cable has dual-ninety connectors, let me know, I want it (if so).
  19. Hang out w/ the GF on the 28th and then get free füdz whilst hanging out with other Ops on the 29th? Lawdy, lawdy!!! :P I'm there!
  20. I, personally, love heavy cameras. The 160 is awesome for the Alexa (from my experience). Depending on the lenses used, it may very well get the focal plane right over -- or very close to -- the center of the post. If you are using Pana Anamorphics, this will almost always get the FP over the center of the post (using an LMB-5 with one filter and a Cinetape with read-out mounted on the side of the LMB-5). Have fun w/ the best non-film camera!
