  1. Oliver, Thanks! Try tightening the nylock nut behind the rod clamps by an ⅛ turn, then see if it clamps better. We had this problem once before with a very muscular guy who is almost V shaped, so there was nothing to stop the waistband from sliding down. We're working on a complete fix for this right now, but let me know if the tightening helps. I'll be back in civilisation on Wednesday, so we could Skype or FaceTime. Skype: steadivision +316 2391 8492 All the best, Chris
  2. Oliver, I'm in the mountains, and far from my vest, so I can't give you the exact size, but it's imperial, that's for sure, not metric. Do you mean the bridge plate that holds the socket block? That should tighten down by hand. Sorry if I am misunderstanding the problem. I'll ask Jerry to keep an eye on this thread until I am back from the wilds. All the best, Chris
  3. Thanks Matteo. He contacted me already. Best of luck to you in your new career!
  4. Buzz, I wish I knew. I know that they were ramping up production of the vests so they could begin supplying them in big numbers. That's supposed to happen soon, but I don't know when. I think that there are vests available now if you contact Mike Craigs at Burbank. All the best, Chris
  5. Matteo, Who did you sell it to? I'd like to know how my old rig is doing! All the best, Chris
  6. Hi Oliver, That's great. Please keep in touch about your progress in the vest. I hope you work as many more years as you want! All the best, Chris
  7. Oliver, Sorry about the price. I can't do anything about that. But the shoulder latch, yes. There's a section in the manual "Customising the Shoulder Straps." The quick fix is to slacken the two screws holding the outer dovetail latch at the shoulder, then bed it in, and retighten it gradually as you back it in and out. That will angle the dovetail to your shoulder shape. If it's still difficult to latch, follow the instructions to conform the whole shoulder girdle. That shoulder latch will pop in and out easily once it's shaped to your body. Let me know how it goes! Chris
  8. Ouch. Let me see if I can chase one up for you. I know demand is exceeding supply, but 6 months :( You're frustrated? I'd be pissed. All the best, Chris
  9. I love Bright Tangerine. I've rarely seen a better-built product. My highest recommendation.
  10. Yawn. There were two non-Tiffen rigs at the workshop. As if that has anything to do with the art of Steadicam.
  11. It's a pretty bight monitor. I used it outdoors with no issues before moving to Transvideo. I still keep it as a backup. It's a good starter monitor at a nice price. Frame lines too.
  12. Dave, H.264 is a variable-quality codec. It's certainly good enough for showreels. Mine anyway ;) All the best, Chris
  13. The Transvideo Starlight is my new on-board recorder. Anyone want to buy a Samurai?
  14. Fantastic product. I love mine. Works like a dream. Thanks Philippe!
  15. I've had the Transvideo Titan HD since it first came out. Does SD and HD, and always works. Best of all, never a question or complaint from video village.
  16. Can't really tell. However, if you do try another demo, it will absolutely be the latest model. All others are being upgraded. Chris
  17. Rich, If it had cutouts on the underside of the waist over-centre lever, so you could slide your fingers underneath it to unlock it, then it was the last version. If that's the case, I'm really confused about the information i recieved from Robin. He'll hopefully comment once he's back from his trip. I'm off to Singapore now, but I'll try to keep tuned in to this thread. Chris
  18. Rich, Both Robin and Danny are overseas somewhere, so I can't get the definite on that vest. I got the impression from Robin that it was not upgraded, but can't confirm that right now, sorry. All the best, Chris
  19. Thanks for all your replies, it feels good to be back on this forum. Rich, That demo vest you tried has now been withdrawn until it can be updated. Hopefully you can try the finished version soon. I guess we'll hear from Tiffen soon when that will be. All the best, Chris
  20. Jamie, Your reply, though undeniably amusing, and perfectly inoffensive, illustrates precisely why I just don't visit the Steadicam Forum anymore. Bye for now, Chris
