  1. I am selling a glidecam gold gimbal. I used this for about two years before upgrading to my current XCS gimbal. It has been relegated to backup use, but hasn't been used since. Just clearing out some things I never use to make way for some new things. It is perfectly functional, though not the prettiest thing in the world anymore. It is not the best gimbal, but gets the job done. It is 1.5" post and a 5/8" arm post. Asking $850 or best offer. Please PM me here or email me at jpmsteadi@gmail.com
  2. I am finally getting around to selling this extra WK vest. I bought it about two years ago to try out the backmounted vest option, loved it, then preceded to loose a bit of weight. When the vest was really just too big for me I bought a new WK, which I have been using for the last year or so. This vest has been just gathering dust since. Hopefully it lets someone else try out the vest for relatively little investment as it let me. The vest is in good condition: it shows signs of wear, but functions perfectly. It comes with a bag, extra fastening hardware, an allen key set, and a front mount piece. The vest can be fitted over a decent range as there is a spacer link in the front door that can be taken out. I think the comfortable range is 5'10-6' and 32"-35" waist. I am asking 3000 or best offer. Please either send me a PM here, or email me at jpmsteadi@gmail.com
  3. I suppose you could make a spacer of sorts in the M1 gimbal, but I would be worried about slippage. It would also be a very small spacer (.06 of an inch). Certainly an interesting idea. Perhaps you could find someone with an older backup gimbal for 1.56" post to try it with?
  4. I'm doing a little project build using a steadicam top stage as a universal dovetail and am looking for 2-3 camera plates. Doesn't really matter the length or hole pattern. if you have extra ones you don't use, let me take them off your hands. All the best, Jarrett
  5. Your best bet is to try Robert Luna. rluna56@earthlink.net
  6. I don't believe that any top stage fits the Ultra. It was a closed design. That being said, it shouldn't vibrate. I would call Tiffen and get their take on it. They have fantastic customer service and I'm sure will know what to do.
  7. I'm pretty sure I have one in Atlanta sitting in my garage. I can dig it out when I get back home if you haven't already found one.
  8. Richard you are correct. This motor will not work with the analog bartech, though it will with the digital PLC receiver.
  9. Correct. The Single Channel controller can be made to work with G3, G4, and G4 blue dot systems, and only then within the same wireless generation. When I had a FIZ 2 I actually used a digital bartech as the iris controller. AFAIK there is no other way to do remote iris with the FIZ 1 or non-G3 HU2 other than the cabled remote.
  10. That's strange. Chris serviced my Gen 1 in September. Maybe the Gen 1 has less custom parts...?
  11. That's very strange. What was the indicated voltage on the Alexa when you were having problems?
  12. Hey Chris, Good to see you here, but you do need to be a sustaining member to post ads. Also, use your real name. That all being said, I have one of Chris's carts and love it!
  13. Makes sense. With the mini it seems to be perfect. Ive always been interested in the omega, but it just seems so specialized for the vast majority of what I do. Is there a way to lock it like with the betz? to prevent unwanted rotation?
  14. also, ramon, do you find you are mostly using the Omega for horizon keeping? or for the true low to high moves?
  15. I have not used it for live things. I generally have very good horizon. The wave takes horizon off your mind in certain situations. I did a commercial with some soccer work and doing low mode work chasing soccer balls while not having to think of horizon is wonderful. Ramon, so far I haven't charged extra for it, as it isn't a tool that lets me do a different job, just one that makes my job easier. I guess it could be both ways. Plus I have still been getting it dialed in. I also am not a big fan of line-item charging for all of the little AKS. makes me seem greedy (at least I think). What are you alls thoughts on the charging?
  16. Agreed. It doesn't get in the way too badly, except in low mode. I did hit my knee the first time in low mode. after I did it once I made sure I didn't do it again!
  17. Brian, It does raise the camera a good bit. Probably 2.75". It is not heavy at all. It is a different effect than gyros. I'm not going to sell my gyros. But I can myself using the wave way more than I use my gyros. It being silent is huge.
  18. not that I noticed. It was a very solid build. Amira with the UAP-2. I didn't do very much full on running though. I would be interested to see some actual sprinting with it. When I get some downtime next week I can do some tests.
  19. I just got mine in on Tuesday and used it on a commercial this week. It is a godsend. I did a soccer scene just running around everywhere with the actors and didn't worry about the horizon at all. The VTR operator actually mentioned to me that he was "super impressed there weren't any horizon issues, cause that's my least favorite thing about steadicam". I had to show him the new toy. So far I would say it is fantastic, but I still haven't used it enough to firmly say one way or the other. Let me know if you have any questions.
  20. http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Linx-Technologies/ANT-24-CW-RH-RPS/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuBTKBKvsBmlKqKp784QoI%252b0C8G8pKtOH4%3d I bought some of those a couple of months ago. Work great! You can also find some that are a higher dBi if you have any range issues (I bought one, but never used it)
  21. The wiring in the Pro 2 sled is run through the low voltage contacts of the lemo connector. While these connections are fine for a composite signal (which is just a voltage range anyway), there is no shielding to allow a digital signal to run through the same line. There are several ways to modify it. The easiest is to purchase an upgrade to Cine-Live from Pro or find a Pro Cine HD system for sale on here (though that is rare). Cramped attic I believe does HDSDI upgrades to your system as well. I am not sure on the cost of that. There are also DIY-ers out there (myself included). It depends on what tools you have at your disposal and how good you are with them. If you are interested in going that route I can certainly elaborate.
