  1. Hey guys, I've just sold my trusted Steadicam EFP package and got this left behind in my garage (the new owner will move to AB gold mount): - PAG Micromaster 9526 Ni-Cd fast charger - PAG mount with connector to charger for charging second battery (or using to mount the batteries to the sled) - 2 PAG LOC-ON POWER Ni-Cd 7Ah batteries (holding charge quite well) - 4 PAG LOC-ON POWER Ni-Cd 5Ah batteries (not holding charge) - 1 PAG LOC-ON POWER Ni-Cd 4Ah battery (not holding charge) - 1 PAG Paglight ML halogen lamp (no bulb) - 1 travel case for batteries and charger (there is not enough room to fit 1 PAG 4Ah battery and the halogen lamp) Not sure what to do with it ;) Anyone interested?
  2. Just take a look at this... and have a good laugh!!! http://video.google.pl/videoplay?docid=-44...amp;q=steadicam The "examples shots" are my favorite part :)
  3. Thanks for the info. I think that I will leave my gear at home or sell it as I`m not quite sure for how long (if it will happen) will I be moving there. It is anything from 3 months to 6 years or more... And since I won`t be having any contacts in movie business it just wouldn`t work out for me :( Too bad. Anyways, thanks for advice it will save me a lot of trouble/cost during moving proccess.
  4. Can any of you tell me how hard is to get a steadicam job in Boston area? Is the market full with ops or is there still a need for more? There is a slight chance that I will be moving there for some time and I would like to know if it is reasonable for me to take my gear (EFP) with me or should I leave it at home? Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. Hi David, I have ordered the exacly the same pot as the one broken in the motor and replaced it. The motor is good as new. Working just fine. If you have the same motor as the one on my photos above, than it is no problem to connect them to Seitz. You just need to skip the amp as this CP motor has the amp onboard. So just connect the motor to the Seitz brakeout box. Look at the first photo and you will see how to do it. I can post a movie showing that how to connect and that it is working fine if you would like. I`m using this motor only for pulling iris on film jobs as I don`t have any other gears for it. For focus I`m using M28VP as this is vertical motor which is easyer to put on lens and it comes with whole set of gears for film and video.
  6. Nick, Thanks for shareing the insides with us. Looking forward to those pictures of the rig :) And please let us know where and when we`ll be able to see the Coca-Cola 3D movie.
  7. I have also noticed a steadicam with 3D setup - looking more or less the same as Alec used a year ago or so in NY park - the topic was called something like "walk in a park"... I have seen it after the Italy received the Cup and were running around with it. Anyone else seen it? Anyway can someone put some more light on this - what was it used for etc. - Guido?
  8. Ron, I`m using it with my Chrosziel monitor with framelines (it is 2,2kg) and no vibration or any other instablility for that matter ever noticed - but I`m only using it for 1,5 year. There are so many adjustment - you can slide the monitor attachment plate, than change the angle at slideplate to arm connector, than the connector can slide on arm, and then you can change angle/longtitude of the arm it self. Pleanty room to fine tune your DB. I`m sorry but I`m on the other side of Earth, but feel free to drop by :)
  9. Ron Here you have a PDF with the specs of the "Ted Churchill" design monitor bracket. I`m also using it on my EFP and I`m very happy with it. Changeing position or removing monitor is so fast and easy. Definitly worth checking out.
  10. Hi Anthony, You should also check X-Files Episode 6x03: Triangle - almost all shooted on steadicam with great hidden cuts and wonderfull choreography. Definitly a "must see" position.
  11. Hey David! Thanks for shareing the insights with us! In day to day work, our takes are cuted into small pieces to make the scene interesting. I think that the episode you shoot is a great example for directors/dops/producers/editors of how to use this amazing tool (which steadicam most surly is) to amplify the excitment and attention of the scene. So again - Great work David! Thanks from all off us :)
  12. I second Neal - ECCO is very comfortable and long lasting. I`m relativly new steadicam op (1,5 year in business) and when I started I just use the most comfort shoes I gotted - ECCO Flexor. The shoes are 3 years old now and still in great shape. As a newbie I did a long hours days and never ever had any problems with my feet - no pain, no bubbles (don`t know the english name for those things you get on your feet if you overheat them). I`ve been using them in any temprerature from 0 to 30 C and not ever feel uncomfortable (for lower than 0C I`m using ECCO Sirius model - very hard sole but great grip on snow/mud and they keep your feet worm for a long time) They are also good for those slow move shots, when you really need a flexible shoes to make your moves fluent. ... did I mention they look good as well :)
  13. Hi Rich, This is a nice camera to fly. I was using it on my EFP, with my blue arm almost at the maximum setting. I can`t remember what power plug it uses (I think 2pin lemo, but not sure) - we were running it from brick battery as my EFP doesn`t have 24v inverter installed yet. Our unit had a problem with video-tap sometimes it wouldn`t start but I don`t think other have the same issues. Here is the photo of hard mount setting: PHOTO Just found two other photos: PHOTO1 PHOTO2
  14. The shot have a few cuts smartly putted in pans (every exit from elevator). Additionally you can see greenscreen monitor reflection on sliding door window of the VW when the door are closed by the chatacter. Anyway the whole episode is one big steadicam masterpiece!
