Tiffen Steadicam LX vest, standard size with full size socket block for big rigs. I got this vest new when I started out and used it until I changed to a Klassen a few years ago. I kept it as a backup or for small spaces but it's not been used since so it's time it found a new home and can get back to making movies! The vest is in great shape as you can see from the photos. The plastic bits on the inside front of the shoulders have split but that's pretty standard on these vests and doesn't affect your operating. Hi gang, Following an Upgrade to an M2 I am now selling my trusty Tiffen Clipper 2 sled. I bought this sled when I first started out in 2014 and it has served me very well on my journey from local short film shoots to working on TV and feature productions. It is basically an Ultra 1 with an Archer tilting top stage and can support full size cameras such as Alexa and Arri LT 35mm. It has had an HD-SDI line added and also has a custom 12/24 volt power system added by Optical Support in London where it has been serviced so is ready to work with modern film and digital cinema cameras. Moving forward, if/when you feel the need you can directly replace the gimbal with a 1.58" M2 Volt gimbal by removing the top stage which I can show you how to do. The sled comes with dovetails and power cables (see below), low mode monitor mount, main monitor post clamp and Tiffen hardcase. It does not have a monitor, rods or yoke as I am using those with my new sled but I could be persuaded to part with my spare monitor and yoke which is compatible if you don't want to source one yourself. It also doesn't come with docking rings or bracket as I'm using these with my new sled too. Hey Andrew! I'd definitely be looking at petrol for a future van purchase as it seems to be likely that diesel will get some sort of penalty in cities at some point, but this may yet be a few years away. As you know I have the T4 which is great for camping etc but probably a bit OTT for kit transport around london. I would suggest you look at maybe a used VW Caddy? You can still fit a magliner in the back and have space for shelves etc. I think James Davis has one, you could drop him a line? rups

I have the cam-tec plate which has a sony eng type interface and integrates a dovetail into the plate so it attached directly to the top stage minimising weight and height. I also got one of the cam-tec wedge adapters in case the camera doesn't come with it's own ;) Absolutely perfect for quick swaps on and off as everything remains in place so no need to rebalance. Yeah Andrew's correct. I have an Ultra 1 gimbal on my Clipper and needed to get the correct pin when I got a new low mode bracket. The guys at Tiffen sorted me out, Robin's address is rthwaites@tiffen.com.

Hi, you could get a copy of the Steadicam Operator's Handbook. It's got lots of great instructions with pictures on how to set up and operate your rig and can be used to get your head around the basics before going on a workshop. Alternatively you could reach out to a local operator for a half or full day's instruction?

HI Felix! I've not had much experience with more expensive systems, but have used the paralinx HDMI version and various models of Teradek. I've just bought an Action Products Eclipse 500 and been very impressed with it's signal reliability and ability to go around corners as it's got external antennas on the Tx. It also does both SDI and HDMI and outputs both on the receiver regardless of what input you use which is nice. It's a touch more expensive than the Paralinx ACE but I think the more reliable signal due to the antennas and ability to send both HDMI and SDI is worth it ;) It also does not make any annoying fan noise on the Rx like some Teradek models I've used do! http://www.innocinema.com/eu/actionproducts-eclipse-500-hdmi-sdi-hd-wireless-video-system.html?___store=inno_eu_english I think you should be wary of thinking that 'it's just the director's monitor, doesn't matter if it's cheap'. If you have a transmitter and are using it on set, if it craps out then its very annoying and everyone is looking at you while you are sorting out the problem, so if you can afford something reliable and built for purpose, definitely go for it. rups

Batteries have now been sold, thanks for the interest :)

Going spare is my original AB battery set which I've replaced with a set of high capacity v-locks. The batteries are set of 4 x Anton Bauer ProPac 14.4v 65Wh batteries that were re-celled before I got them last year. They have not had a huge amount of use since I got them as I have been mostly using lighter batteries. They seem to keep their charge fine but I've mainly been using them to power the monitor so not exactly been stressed! They are pretty heavy so have been useful for balancing heavier cameras. The charger is a Logic Series Lifesaver Magnum. Its all fairly battered cosmetically but seems to work fine! Based in the UK, asking for £100 OBO.

that's great news! imho this was always the weak point with the system so it's fantastic they have sorted it out :D
