  1. I own 2 MS with different mods. Get your sled and Arm in the hands of Robert Luna and follow his advice. I may be alone on this but I enjoy flying the Master Series. Mauriccio at Calicocam in Italy does excellent work on MS sleds.
  2. Ruben's app for the AR Omega is fantastic. all moneys aside, I tried the Letus Helix Pro and immediately felt it was the right tool for me. with both power and video passthrough, the camera is able to freely execute 360 rolls and just keep going. one can make use of an iOS app, a joystick (for operator) or an RC control. LEtus has different models with different weight capacities. cheers
  3. post video in the Facebook group. lots of help there. but I feel you need to make it heavy! and practice the walk.
  4. I had one. is a "solid" Sled "rig".the arm blows. suffers from the typical flaws of its design. it locks at both extremes, noisy, etc. vest was ok. Raven v2 sled looks a lot better. I had V1, I didn't like how far the top stage is to the docking ring. makes one extend the post too long to find drop time. I had the quirky monitor and battery mounts, replaced those with a camjam monitor mount as soon as I could. on the other hand. the post is loooooong. you can scrape the floor and ceiling if you need to. 2" post d is very nice to handle. that being said. once I tried a Master series w/ a few mods. I never looked back.
  5. The advice and help experience operators have given me.in.here and in the facebook groups is invaluable. I can say with confidence that a MS rig With the HDSDI upgrade, the 12v/24v wiring/switch/fuse, new monitor mount and a gyro can handle just about anything. Consider Mauricio at Calicocam if you want to.get rid of the k-section. Currently saving.up to.get one.of my.MS to Mauricio.
  6. I just had my MS HDSDI lines and connectors upgraded. Not hard at all, specially if you got the top stage off, the rest is simple. A few guys in the USA cam so it. I recommend @steadikoon on Instagram
  7. what works for me. I wear layers. I wear long sleeve light cotton shirt and a dickies or Columbia shirt sleeve fishing shirt over that. I try not to let the first sweat of the day evaporate of my skin. I don't expose any parts of my arms or torso to the sun. that keeps my sweat undercontrol until lunch break, then I change. from the waist down, thats another thing. Give Tommy Jones underwear a try. go full synthetic. money well spent there. and I use Columbia shorts. ventilation is key for the undercarriage. happy flying
  8. Hey Kevin, I have an HTC phone and the BT dongle came with it. It work so well to find my car keys or phone that I use it now for my case
  9. I lock everything in my cases except my phone. All cases are on a magliner sr. I use my phone with the level app on the monitor mount. I also have Bluetooth dongles on the cases. If they get moved my phone app alerts me.
  10. With the help of several generous veterans I have a master series sled and master arm that fly's great. It is humbling the amount of support I found in here and in the facebook groups. Don't discard the classics. The HDSDI upgrade is intimidating to do, but not impossible. Most Broken parts can be machine locally. And companies like calicocam can completely MOD the k-section and electronics.
  11. do check Maurizio Aloi Calicocam
  12. i use a lanparte battery/HDMI splitter. it gives me 2 cdmi outs i take one to feed a parallinx transmitter, the other goes to hdmi to composite and I send that signal down my master to monitor. there is a small delay when doing that.
  13. my 2c. im a big guy 6'02" 250+ and can't imagine using anything else but "old" basketball shoes, I remove the factory insert and replace with gels. i even found an classic pair of nikes without shoe laces, just velcro straps. i may look ridiculously hipster, but my feet never hurt.
  14. Hi Janice, Quick question. How do you remove the rivets on the lower buckle of the vest? I know I can get a rivet gun at home depot but is there a tool to safely remove rivets?
  15. Thank you for the tip, I ordered a few.
  16. Hi Jan, one of the top buckles on my master series Vest just broke, which type of fastex buckle should i get to do a quick repair? cheers
  17. best thing any new op can do is to read the handbook, watch Mr Jerry Halloway training videos. you can search on youtube. there is also a very good video on Dynamic balance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9W8bOZLM9g. and when ready Attend a workshop. however, if you want to sell your M50 sled PM right away.
  18. that Came TV rig is not worth the money. not the vest, not the sled, not the arm. I had one, and had to glue, dodder, gaffer tape al over so the sled wouldn't move when operating. and don't even try to go low mode on those. only, "off brand" rig i have found adequate is the LAING M50,there are 2 models one of which has wiring for red power and is both 12V/24V . but only the sled feels good. it is a world of a difference to have a sled with 2" diameter. fly safe
  19. hey J, as someone that has tried most non Tiffen or GPi rigs out there, I skipped the eemov. is hard to accept when starting to steadiop, but one has to get out of the way of the rig and re-learn how to walk, turn and stand. with the off brand rigs is very hard to do, since there is no consistency on the builds. I moved up to a Laing M50 Sled with a few custom machine parts to make it all work with a Ultra 3A arm or Luna Arm. if you can get your hand on a luna arm you can potentially fly anything from 30-70lbs at a fraction of the price you would need for a G50 or G80 or a Titan Arm. fly safe.
  20. I got this rig considering only the price. it is not worth it, not as a practice rig, not even for spare parts. just a few things that you would experience right way when you try it: the SLED: the camera plate won't lock completely so a simple jerk will make the camera jitter. the gimbal would need heavy lubrication. the monitor clamp and its adjusting nobs will give out their thread if you over tighten, which you must do for them not to move around on whip pans. the base with the counter weight will also move and slide on whip pans, in thus even if you take the time to achieve dynamic balance the first whip pan you do or even putting the rig over your shoulder to rest will make everything in it move enough to make you keep going back to your docking bracket to rebalance. the arm: its a toy! at its low end weight capacity it behaves poorly, at the top end of its weight capacity it starts to come alive and make all kinds of noise and click and clacks and it would bend on you. The Vest: this is the best part of the rig, except for the plastic snaps that would break on you the moment you pull on them to adjust, so replace those right away. I recommend you look into the Laing M50 which I now have in combination with a Ultra 3A arm.the sled is not without its faults buts its all wired for 12v and 24v. i had to machine and order parts to make the rig work but i can put an Alexa Xt on it. get yourself a MotionDogs Lenshound wireless follow focus and you have the best off brand rig best of luck
