  1. I have an original Decimator that stopped working on the job last night.

    No lights no composite signal.

    I HATE throwing stuff like this away and would love to get it repaired.

    Anyone know of a technician who does these repairs?

    Thanks

    Jamie

  2. I was part of the recent Teradek Group Buy and just wanted to let everyone know that I just received my Bolt 600.

    I like to call a spade a spade, both good and bad and just wanted to say that Teradek was great in dealing with the exchange of my less than one month old Pro for the Bolt 600 that I just received. No questions asked, no issues raised, just a simple exchange, plus a cash balance as promised. And in a very timely professional fashion. AND because it was a group buy it was at a discount!!

    I can't wait to get it to set tomorrow and try it out. Based on my and others Bolt Pro use, I suspect that it will perform as promised.

    This is not a plug, I received no perks, just presenting the facts.

    Thanks Teradek

  3. Chris

    Sorry for the cynicism. Undoubtedly the Exovest is a wonderful piece of equipment that might prove to be a game changer. For that I applaud you. However this is a forum that should allow all members and visitors the ability to express opinions. In my case the opinion is based in fact that I was party to.

    So congratulations Chris on your spectacular creation.

  4. Wait a redesign! From Tiffen! Well THAT's never happened before.

    Gosh I hope the bearings aren't sticking.

    And how much will the new mods cost those who purchased the vest already?

    I certainly hope that Tiffen chooses to upgrade the early adopters for free......

    Sorry I couldn't resist.....

  5. NIck;

    I sent back my Bolt Pro w 2 receivers on the 30 day money back guarantee. Can I take that credit and use it towards the group purchase of a Bolt 600?

    I sent an email to Teradek asking that question and they never responded. Not good customer service IMHO

    I and all of the other interested steadicam purchasers are interested to see what they do.

    Thanks

    Jamie

  6. So I have a question for all of youse guys out there in NAB land. When you visited Teradek did they announce pricing and release dates on the new products at hand?

    I so wish I could go out and hang in the warm sun with y'all but it seems like every year at this time a pilot or show comes around and I am stuck here on the east coast, watching the Lion change into the Lamb. It's sure taking it's time this year. I am still f*#king freezing my ass off.

    Thanks

  8. And to amplify what Lawrence said;

    usually upgrade programs are announced at the time of new product announcement, not after.

    Once announced, the onslaught of sales will only make Teradek's upgrade incentive that much less, leaving many not so happy customers. Myself included in that cohort.

    Mike, there are companies in this business that I would never put my money into again primarily because they don't stand by their products once another model is brought to market, or if defective won't take responsibility for the repair ( see a certain company that makes arms, puts defective bearings in them and then charges people to replace the problematic bearings). I am hopeful that your management team acts more like PRO or XCS than those other companies. Stand by the product, make products upgradeable, and treat your customers as valued associates who are eager to work together to use your products for a long time to come, knowing that your primary concern is to help the customer not profit.

  9. Lawrence;

    I opted for the Bolt Pro not the 2000 realizing that I wasn't going to make my money back because of how productions are beating down prices. The 600 sounds like the perfect compromise and maybe the 30 day thing is just the incentive to make the change. Unless Teradek develops other options.... which would make them one of the better manufacturers in this business they call Steadicam. I have a monitor, actually several that are not upgradable and virtually worthless on the marketplace because of that.

    Either astounding quality (PRO, XCS) or upgradable product (one hopes Teradek) makes a company worth coming back to time and again.

    And truth be told, Mike has been a pretty good representative of the company. He addresses issues quickly and seems very proactive. Lets see what happens with the new product line and tradeins.
