About Stephen Parsey

  1. This is awesome news! Jim, will it work with both Analog and Digital Bartech receivers?
  2. Hi-ho, everyone. Anyone know if there's anything particularly special about the official Tiffen 2nd Battery Plate for Zephyr besides the 12V/24V mode switch? I have some spare parts lying around: - AB plate with D-Tap - Threaded cheeseplate - D-Tap to 3-pin LEMO cable And I was thinking if I simply attach an AB plate to the cheese plate to the bottom of the sled (where the second battery plate would also attach) and plug from D-Tap to 3-pin LEMO IN on the sled base to,swill that give me the equivalent of 24V mode or 12V mode?
  3. I changed out the V-mount plate on my Zephyr to AB. It is just a basic +/- pair of wires. Just unscrew the old plate, un-solder the leads, then solder them to the new plate (double check the polarity) and screw the new plate back down. I imagine it's just as simple on the Flyer LE, but sorry I don't know about the holes. On Zephyr, the battery bracket plate has holes for both V and AB mounts already, but mine had pre-sunk nuts for only V-mount. I bought some lock-nuts and used the screws that came with the AB plate to secure it.
  4. Thanks for posting this one. I was just thinking to ask the same thing of the forum. I think I like AB mount better myself. While both work just fine in general, AB seems more secure because you have to be more deliberate to release it by sliding out sideways instead of front to back. I'm planning to switch my (new to me!) V-mount Zephyr sled to AB for this reason, but will probably keep the V-mount plate as backup or get an AB to V-mount adapter in case cam rents V instead of AB. 5. Has anyone ever used Heden HLC complete system? Heden motors are clearly battle tested, so I wondered how they did with the whole system? - I see their controllers are Bluetooth. How is the performance of that compared to experiences with Bartech (both analog and digital)? - Bluetooth connectivity to 100m range? Didn't know Bluetooth could work that far! Anyone tested that range in practical use? Thanks! Steve
