  1. Kyle, Thanks for the tip. I tried it without resolve, but it was a smart initial troubleshoot. Victor, I am using the steadicam scout and am connected to it through the HD/SD in port to a Black Magic Cinema Camera and out from that to the SDI out port. It is not so much vertical lines as it is some kind of interference like the old ntsc televisions. Not quite salt and pepper but similar with a vertical line pattern to it...
  2. My monitor shows vertical lines on the screen when on. Is there a way to trouble shoot this problem. Thanks
  3. I have a new Steadicam Scout with an HD monitor to run with my Blackmagic cinema camera. I was trying to figure out how to power my camera with the steadicam battery. I could power the steadicam monitor with the battery on the steadicam by using the included cords. But there was no cord in my package that gave me the ability to power my camera with the battery below. I first settled with a battery mounted to the camera but this added unnecessary weight. So I purchased a 3pin lemo to dc cord and attached the camera to the steadicam base plate hoping that this would power my camera. What happened next is tragic. The monitor started smoking and then was no longer functional. Somehow, the cord that went from the camera to the steadycam, I presume then internally down through the steadicam to the monitor, fried the monitor! How is this possible? I now need either to replace the monitor, or repair it, but this does not give me comfort because I still do not know how to power the camera with the steadycam, what power cord to purchase, and how to configure the apparatus. I want only to run with a steadicam. I am not an electrician, nor should this have to be so complicated. Please advise. Respectfully, Mike
  4. Certainly Robin. I've sent it to you. And thanks for your reply. Mike
  5. I put my steadicam scout in low mode with F bracket. Problem, the gimbal rubs against the handle. I know what is happening. The gimbal is separated by the handle by about 2mm. When I rotate the camera upside down the gimbal head snaps down and brushes against the handle top, thereby creating a friction rub. With this the steadicam does not rotate smoothly. My rig is about 17lbs. I decreased it to 7lbs but the gimbal still "slips" when upside down. It pops back when I rotate the camera back to regular mode and rotates smoothly again of course. Please advise.
  6. OK, thanks for the reply. Releases much stress. I looked up the decimated. My black magic cinema camera has SDI out. What does the steadycam have? It looks like an SDI. Will I need to order another line. I messed up on the power supply too. Had to order the V Mount to replace the AAA battery bank.
  7. I think I have messed up. I purchased the Steadicam Pilot AA 5.8" LCD screen for my blackmagic cinema camera. I wan't thinking when I purchased, more excited about the Steadicam than the monitor. It's a standard monitor. I figured I would just find an adapter for my Cinema Camera to plug in the monitor, but I don't know that I can do this. I would be willing to purchase the HD/SDI monitor if I it's offered. Is there an adapter for my LCD to the BMC? If not, is there a way to buy the HD/SDI monitor and replace the LCD monitor on the Steadicam? Thanks in advance for your help. Mike
  8. Thank you both for your replies. I found it odd that only one screw is to be utilized, which explains my confusion: in other words, I guess I was doing it wrong.
  9. I have a steadicam pilot with a black magic cinema camera and an ikan tilta cage. I'd like to secure the cage to the cheese plate of the steadycam but the holes do not align properly. I've searched the web and find absolutely no solutions as if I am the only one with this problem. It leads me to think I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions? I'd like to be able to attach my cage with matte box and all.
