  1. Hi Jake The Archer 2 will come with a 6" Transvideo Superbright now rather than the HD UltraBrite. Makes a nice match physically. Robin
  2. Hi Adam Don't get me wrong , I love Antlers but that 14 + 3 or 4 makes 17kg plus the weight of the sled and monitor which means you are pushing the envelope as far as we know. Best Robin
  3. Hi Adam 20kg is definitely over for the Archer 2. Quite apart from the gimbal we rate the stage to 15kg, I don't think it will let go but you may get other problems that are yet to be found. Losing the Antlers seems like the way to go, to a certain extent you can get back some stability by simply extending the monitor and battery mounts (add rotational inertia). Robin
  4. Calling any ops getting to IBC, keep your Saturday night clear. Come to the Tiffen booth for details, limited numbers so first come first served! Robin
  5. More news on the UK Autumn Workshop. Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to change the date for this workshop to delay it a little so the date is now confirmed as starting on the 13th November. Venue is the same at the SAE Institute headquarters near Oxford http://www.sae.edu/en-us/gallery/1643/Gallery_Buildings/page/2/and price will be GB£2,100.00 including full board accommodation. Please contact either myself at robin.thwaites@tiffen.com or James Elias at jelias@tiffen.com for further details and an application form, also have a look on www.flysteadicam.com. Robin Thwaites
  6. Hi All Tiffen International are planning to run a GOLD 5 1/2 day workshop in England immediately after IBC this year. Location will be the head office of the SAE Institute just outside Oxford and the date proposed is 18th - 23rd September, this is a fantastic old building with plenty of space for working both outside and inside should the weather be typically English and raining. This will be a residential workshop with accommodation at a nearby hotel, cost for this will be included in the workshop charge. This cost has not been finalised but is likely to be in the region of GB£2,000.00 (plus VAT) including accommodation and full board. There will, of course, be a plentiful selection of current Steadicam rigs to use and instructors will be top UK and European operators from both the film and television world together with guest of honour Garrett Brown. Please register interest by e-mailing to me at robin.thwaites@tiffen.com (please do not PM or answer via the forum as I may not have access if I am travelling). Note that nothing is final as yet and we are still making arrangements - more information will follow. Keep an eye on www.flysteadicam.com for upcoming information and details. Robin
  7. Tiffen are pleased to announce our first GOLD (five and a half day) workshop in Australia coming up this July. Contact is Brett Smith in Sydney at bsmith@tiffen.com +61 (0) 417 663 803, more details at www.flysteadicam.com. Robin
  8. As a standard setting I would dial out the Iso by 5 turns (clockwise) with any light camera BUT THE MORE YOU PLAY THE MORE YOU CAN TUNE TO YOUR PREFERENCE. Robin
  9. Hey Amando I hope you were not hurt? Looks nasty! Robin
  10. Edmund As I said at your workshop, don't do it! Robin
  11. Hi Guys As per the power Lemo on the Archer 2, manual can be found at http://www.steadicam.com/userimages/Archer2_Manual_11-11_sm.pdf page 20 has details. Robin
  12. Hi Joakim, Brian, EFPs can vary, early red springs were rated to 26lb, also spares are diminishing so I would advise this only for someone with a little experience and mechanical aptitude. Workshop? DEFINITELY! Don't forget that to be a good Steadicam operator also means being a good gamera operator. Robin
  13. Hi Carl Difficult to say without seeing it but we are always happy to do so. Feel free to get in touch on robin.thwaites@tiffen.com. Robin
  14. Seasons Greetings and best wishes to all in the Steadicam community from Tiffen International in a very snowy England. Robin
  15. Hi Garrett

Sorry I did not spot this earlier, the forum used to inform me when I got a message but apparently not any more and I have been travelling a lot since August.

Yes I was at OpTex so I am sure it was me, let me know if there is any way I can help you, the best way to contact me is desk e-mail which is robin.thwaites@tiffen.com.

    Best regards

    Robin

  16. Hi Guys Yes it is confusing but the G-40 is offered as it also needs to carry the weight of the Tango and counterweights, it is not there to increase the capacity of the Zephyr. Robin

Robin

  19. Hi Sam Thanks for making the movie, hope you had fun. Robin
  20. Hi James You are very welcome, it was great to see everybody. Robin
  21. The Archer 2 (all versions) has only been available with the G-50 since NAB. This was the most popular configuration even when the G-40 was available. Robin
  22. Sorry still recovering from a flight back from China and didn't scroll up far enough. Actually better to give the factory a call as I can only speak for this side of the Atlantic however like any new product it would be wise to put your name down with them to avoid delay. Robin
  23. Hi James E-mail me at robin.thwaites@tiffen.com for an invite with details. Amando It would be great to see you. Robin
  24. Tiffen International will be holding the European launch of the Zephyr, Phantom and incredible Tango on September 5th at our London office.
