  1. Thanks Jim, I'm actually looking into purchasing a Bartech. 😃
  2. Hi Chris, I was like you and was debating for a long time whether to go for a new Zephyr or used older rig. After spending countless hours looking in the forums and doing extra outside research myself I opted for the latter and bought a used Clipper 24. My reason and popular consensus is that you're barely able or unable to fly the cinema cameras such as the Alexas and heavier cams or anything with a beefy lens like an Angenieux Optimo or Fujinon zooms, or a camera with typical wireless/essential accessories I.e. FF, mattebox, Teradek, etc. But of course it boils down to which cams you'll be working with and wanting to deal with weight wise. I went with the latter to have a wider range of options since mine can hold up to 35lbs. aka 2.5 stone
  3. Which camera is on the M15?
  4. What's up my fellow FNGs and vets! In everyone's experience have y'all found that it's easier owning these additionally optional tools or just having Production rent them? Also, does one find on average or commonly that Prod. Co's hesitant or unwilling to rent them? Or is it a bit of a no-brainer easy subject for the producers to say yes to? Just curious as I'm on the fence whether to invest in those first or a camera. Thanks guys and looking forward to the input!
  5. To quote Gaylen: Nyrius This is cheap but it will transmit full HD good for up close handheld monitor when director is following the Steadicam comes with a remote. CONS: It has the worst range and dropped the signal often. HDMI only. Only available paired to one RX. 5 Volt power via mini USB. Note: I will not ever try to use Nyrius on set again!! Bad day long story! I can second that Nyrius is the cheapest solution to transmit wireless HD video but also the most unreliable. I've worked with this manufacturer's ARIES model several times and there were constant dropouts and connectivity issues. From what I recollect it only worked half the time and caused partial delays which extremely annoys and frustrates everyone in Camera Dept. and can easily anger even the most calm and chill director. I'd only work with the Nyrius if it is the last option. IMHO save up your coin and get a Teradek.

  7. Any luck on Frankensteining a solution? And I can confirm that the Clipper monitor rods are 16mm and I think the spacing just might be a bit over 100mm. At this I'm banging my head against the wall to figure this out as I want to attach a Shogun Flame to my Clipper24 rig.
