  1. Hey all - In search of a steadicam bracket that will fit to a C-Stand, haven't been able to find one anywhere. Trying to pick one up for around the 70.00 range, don't mind if its beat up - as long as it works. Thanks --Z
  2. Hey all - Looking for everyone's insight on if a Wireless Zoom is necessary, I was trained on a Steadicam but I usually worked a ton with a gimbal so I got away with just a cabled thumbwheel, but after my purchase of a Zephyr that simply isnt going to cut it anymore. I've been looking at a handful of wireless thumbwheel systems and I came across a off-brand dual-motor system that would allow wireless zoom and focus control. Is this something that could come in handy? I have gears on all my lenses and my two main zooms are the canon 70-200mm 2.8 and the 16-35mm 2.8, the rest of my lenses are primes. Thanks ! -Zac
  3. Hey all, I started in this world with a Flyer-LE system and then moved closer to gimbals and did the Ronin / Steadimate combo for awhile but I'd love to get my hands on a entry level sled to start doing some more practice / work with a legit system. I'm looking for a sled that is in any condtion, I don't care if theres no monitor, no batter plates , etc , completely ok with a Fixer-uper. Can't seem to find anyone selling just the sled, and I'd love to avoid buying a whole system since I really like my A30 Vest and arm combo Thanks ! --Zac
  4. I appreciate the fast response Tom, I Mcgyver'd the Flyer Vest with a S hook and a bunch of heavy load tye wraps. (I ordered a clip, but I HAVE to have the vest in working order on saturday) Think this setup will hold ? seems a lot sturdier then the actual clip is
  5. Hey all. So I've been a stedicam operator for around 4 years and have my own Flyer-LE that I was handed down from a old production house that no longer had a need for it. I recently picked up Cinemilleds Ronin Adapter which lets me mount my ronin to the vest and arm. I was at a camera rehearsal last night and took a pretty nasty fall and broke one of the chest clips (somehow nothing else was damaged) But to my question.... I have a merlin vest that can fit the flyer-LE arm. Is it safe to run the flyer arm on the merlin vest? My rig is around 20 pounds I know the weight limit listed for the merlin is 15 pounds - but I assume the weight is heavily dependent on the arm. It actually fits and I was walking around with it , but I'm nervous that it is going to snap and just fall straight to the ground. Anyone have any insight on this ? Thanks ! --Zac
