  1. benefits I find on a lowmode monitor just below lens of camera on the top stage: -your sight and awarenes goes more in the direction of camera, therefore less posibility of accidentally hitting camera with objects. -you are more aware of the terrain as you are looking down. -you can fly sled really close to your body and watch frame some cons: -more power consumption from top stage or camera battery -less clearance under lens, very unusual moves require space here -usually you can only use a 5in monitor and it does feel smaller compared to the normal 7in. -if you are always trying to fly small sled, adding weight just below camera with a low mode monitor means you will need to compensate either by making your sled longer or adding more weight. general tip be aware of ins and outs needs. I got a small hd 5in that only has 1 sdi in. I have to plan how the feed goes mostly with Red cameras as they only have 1 sdi out. Ideally you get a monitor that have both inn and outs. -Sun cover is a plus when working in exterior.
  2. I started with the full kit proline.... my most inmediate upgrade was the vest, Exovest from Tiffen. then the arm, into smartsystem x1 arm I currently fly the sled, with betz wave on it. I made many personal modifications. Luciano the owner is very responsive. I strongly suggest take a workshop so that you can try different sleds and know if you choose proline what's the difference. enjoy the process!
  3. travel with 98w max batteries, check tsa rules. I manage to breakdown the exovest to fit in a carry on..... or load to the fullest the exovest bag with the arm and accesories all wrapped with cloth and bongos. have fun playing baggatetris.
  4. the wave separates the camera from gimbal making your sled longer or having you to add more weight at batteries side to compensate. I have been asked to roll rap videos in middle of shot, little tricky to put pin while operating, but once locked your sled will behave quite normal
  5. I got their rig as it was the one I could afford. Had to make my custom adjustments to their initial version. If you can buy a GPI pro or Tiffen go for it. If you can only afford steadyproline go knowing you will have to put more effort learning and adjusting. I did upgrade to a exovest as felt it was my next logical step.
  6. Hello looking to get a Betz Wave 1 in or near New York area, ideally before July 17. Got 4k cash, I understand is a little low but is all I got, and really have to give it a go. You can call me or whats app me at 646-578-3561 Thanks
  7. The best excercises I found are wearing the rig with weight and small sdi cam as much I can at home
  8. Hello, I am looking to buy a Exovest. Preferably in USA Thanks, Domini Alcantara domini829@live.com
  9. I got the Raven Black Edition, it works as advertised.I like their vest as is very slim, the arm can be adjusted easily, some of the knobs on the sled are delicate but overall good. I really had no other choice if I wanted to start operating, other than to wait couple of year to buy a more expensive rig. I feel you cannot compare this to GPI pro or Tiffens rig as they play in a totally different economic game. I say like Steadiproline is the KIA and GPI and Tiffens the BMW and Mercedez of the industry... lol, try to test as many as you can would be the best.
  10. In the lower price end I got Must HD 7inch HyperBrite, shot outdoors and can be seen clearly, I usually ask for a small flag to grips to work around reflexivity. It comes with a braket for tilting, sunhood, v-mount plate, sdi in and out.
