  2. Can this Monitor accept Standard Def video signal? Would be great to use as program return monitor and record line cuts.
  3. Jens, for a moment I thought you were severely stoned on hallucinogens :)
  4. I tried the Exo at NAB last year and didn't find it particularly comfortable. Flash forward to another test at the recent Stabilizer Expo and wow...the evolved design was super comfortable. I was surprised and impressed. I've always had pain in a front mount (to be fair, I haven't flown a PRO harness for longer than a few mins which wasn't measured to my body), and have been loving my Klassen Harness for many years now, which causes me no discomfort and allows me to operate at great lengths with zero soreness. The Exo gave me a similar feeling to the back mount. To be fair I didn't fly it for more than 5 minutes, but for me that's long enough to see if it feels funky. I would definitely recommend considering this harness. We all have different body types with different strengths and weaknesses. It's cool to have another option which may help us fly the rig in a physically comfortable zone.
  5. Touring around Europe on a Drama and my DP wants some Steadicam on location outside of Rome in a few days. Wondering if anyone who's based out of Rome would like to rent their rig and FF for a day. Last minute kinda request but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.....please email me if interested. Thanks! Bryan Trieb@me.com
  6. It looks so sweet....I waaaaaaaant mine nowwwwwww already...it's been soooooo long FAAAAAACK!!!! Clear throat, adjust collar. As you were....
  7. Just wondering if anyone has been confronted with a similar situation... I request a COI from a large production company who have tried to deflect such requests in the past. I get the following reply: "Attached is the certificate that our insurance is willing to provide. In return, they would like a certificate from you showing proof of coverage. Please send your certificate to me and I will forward it to our business affairs department and to our insurance company as well." The attached document was a standard COI.....but I've never been asked to prove my own coverage in return. Ever. Does this seem odd?
  8. Knowing Mike, he probably operated this shot in neutral too. So all you Haters wrap your heads around that for a moment. Some people just have the Touch, and honour the craft in the highest regard. Kudos Bro.
  9. Very curious to see the Pro Live sled. I will chime in with my endorsement of an XCS Ultimate2 for live work. I like the 2" post and compact sled post length....as well the versatility to hop onto a heavy "film" camera job with rock solid ease. I'm quite appreciating this recent movement by Tiffen and Pro to expand their products to this particular niche of Live. I think the perfect zoom/focus module is yet to be seen however.
  10. I've often thought about the sled sock for local jobs, it's quite appealing. I'm however the type of person...if I don't cover my ass, the one time I don't something bad will happen. We've all spent a lot of money on our gear, I'm protecting that stuff with all my might. I'll allow myself some extra time to break it out and set it up. I will subject myself to the ridicule of driving my Grand Caravan to accommodate all the hard cases. I've heard all the minivan jokes btw....go ahead, try...I've heard it. :( :) Bry
  11. Congrats Dude, wish you the best. I'll bet you're going to appreciate flying the rig more than ever. Good for you bro!
  12. Congrats you two! Shut your phones off and enjoy! Best, Bry
  13. I'm finally able to attend NAB this year. How much Canadian Beer shall I bring? Bry : )
  14. Thank you Eric, I agree. It was the wording of "Box kit AND rentals" which caught my eye....which made me think they might be trying to slide in the Rentals part to be inclusive of their waiver. They are providing a COI. Bry
  15. Hey all, curious to know your opinions on this section I have come across in a deal memo issued by a reputable production company: "Box Kit and Rentals An inventory listing of box rental contents must be submitted to accounting. Be advised that (the production company) states that all insurance for loss and damage of box items is inclusive of box rental fees and are not covered by (the production company)" I'm not the best at interpreting legal jargon, but this seems like they are trying to waive any responsibility and not willing to provide a COI. Have any of you come across anything like this before? Many thanks in advance, Bryan
  16. Hello Dick, I'm curious to know how your focus slider drives the lens...do you use some sort of MDR/motor combo? Internal focus servo? Also, how do you operate zoom? Best Regards, Bryan
  17. Would really like to hear opinions on the following situation that happened a few years ago. Rig is built, operator flying production's camera/lens. Rig strapped on, operator standing still asking for a lighting tweak. Pro arm rod end snaps suddenly, and rig crashes on the ground. Camera and lens are fine. Sled and arm need repair. Production says "we won't pay for that, it's just like if a microphone stops working, we expect the sound company to fix/replace it as it is their owned equipment". Operator has insurance, as well as a COI from production, production refuses to put the claim through. Client gives operator quite a lot of work over the years and for years to come, so the effort to preserve positive relations is paramount. Thoughts? Cheers! Bry
  18. Hello all, The folks over at Lentequip are working on something new which will be FCC compliant. Not sure when the units will be released but it will be soon. Stay tuned ....I predict these units will be major contenders in the HD wireless tx/rx game. Best, Bry : )
  19. This made the lighting dept on my current show pee themselves.
  20. Good work Job....for this I hope you didn't use an Assist. Congrats to you and your family my friend. : ) Bry
