  1. Deal fell through. Titan arm is available. Now $19,500 Klassen Solid Block can sell separately.
  2. Sale no longer pending. Back FOR SALE at a lower price: $3,500. I'm happy to sell the cart without the cabinet for $3,200.
  3. Klassen vest is SOLD. Steadicam 3A vest still available.
  4. $3,800 The purge continues... My cart (hopefully soon to be YOUR cart) is mentioned within my list of a bunch of other stuff for sale in a previous post. However, and I hope it's cool to do this (let me know, moderators), I'm listing it here separately because I finally have some pictures of this beast, and I think it begs to have it's own moment in the spotlight, away from the noise of the other, lesser, though still important aks. It comes with: docking post assembly with a baby pin and sled landing pad, two accessory bars (between the uprights, bolt anything you want to them. I had a Mafer clamp bolted to one which grabbed my stand, with the legs contained in the little white cup), folding hand grips, foot brakes, a couple extra accessory post-holding brackets (one with the stand-holding cup epoxied to it), upper and lower drawers with combination locks, a couple Backstage cable hangers that I would lay my stand in for stage moves, Backstage stand hanger and basic hook, spare tire tube that I think is the correct size (I could be wrong), and the Steadi-cabinet. Anyway, I bought this new and picked it up from Innovativ, waaay out East of LA, past the giant Budweiser cans, off the 210. I took it back there a few years ago to have them fix a smart wheel bearing-tower issue which they resolved, then I paid for a refresh of the whole cart. Primarily new carpet and I believe a couple wheel bearings. The 'Steadi-cabinet' is something I assembled myself. It's a frame made of 80/20 1x1 profile aluminum, Baltic birch plywood drawers and drawer slides that are made for RV's. I ordered the drawers from Drawers Dot Com in my custom sizes. When you close the drawers, the slides 'catch' and won't release unless you give the drawer a little tug. The slides are designed for RV's, so when you go around a corner your Pomeranian isn't skewered because your silverware drawer didn't fly open. Imagine how that scenario plays out inside the camera truck! The sides, back and top are covered with thin plywood, which is conveniently pre-aged for you. The top drawer is huge and is where I kept my weather bag, snacks that I didn't want to share, sometimes my backpack, etc. There are a couple pictures that show a tape measure in a drawer. That's this top drawer. The middle drawer has foam cut out for my (hopefully soon to be someone else's) arm. The bottom drawer is foam lined for your sled (Somebody, please buy my sled. The closet at the retirement facility will NOT hold a 1650.). The other tape measure pictures are showing the outside dimensions of the the entire cabinet. The PRO arm, PRO sled and Pelican case are for illustration purposes only-ish. They ARE for sale and are featured in previous posts of their own. This thing is a beast and really only for local pick up here in Woodland Hills. If it helps you make the decision, I'm thrilled to deliver it to you in the Los Angeles area, or to a local set you're working on. Just before lunch would be perfect. 5. Gimme a call in the morning, after about 9. I am retired, after all.
  6. The only plates I'd break out would be the blue ones.
  7. I'm selling all my gear, since I won't be needing it at the old folks home. This baby is the bomb. I've got lots of pictures. I still need to carve out some time to photograph my cart and custom cabinet. If you need another pic of something, or I don't have a picture here, of what you're interested in, just ask. I'll do my best to accommodate. The prices don't include shipping, which I'll ask you to cover. I'm in LA, so unless you have a special deal with a logistics company, the cart & cabinet is a local pick up. That thing is heavy! I'm reasonably happy to deliver it locally. Call or text: 213-810-2218 My sled, arm and an old Steadicam vest were posted earlier, separately, and are still for sale.
  8. Preston MDR-3 w/2 PRO to MDR power cables, 'H' bracket w/dovetail, bottom & side cheese plates! - $4,750.00 This is in great shape and works as it should. I used this only on my sled and only during a couple seasons of episodic work. The bottom cheese plate came in handy to mount a low-mode monitor bracket. The side cheese plate just looks cool. To me. 9. - Large-size Klassen Flex w/straight & drop-down crossover blocks, Flow Cine knobs, spares, leather arm bag, storage bag - $4,000 I used to be about a 34 waist, at give-or-take 205 lb, and an unchanging 6',2". During that dreamtime this vest fit me like a glove. It will easily give or go another inch-and-a-half in the waist. This thing upped my lock-off game. This vest and my PRO arm are a killer combo. - Rebuilt Steadicam (CP) '3A' vest w/PRO titanium socket block, back straps - $1,500 I bought this lightly used, from another operator, back when I started, around '93-'94. My buddy, Nick Franco, for some reason that I've forgotten, a number of years ago took on the task of replacing the old leather shoulder straps with really nice, bullet-proof, flexible plastic straps, refurbished the rip-cord assembly and added back straps. By then I had gotten my first Klassen vest and never used it again. It's in great shape for being over thirty years old. Thanks Nick! Take your pick, or take both and be covered for any situation! 10. PRO ll sled $16,100 - DB lll - VZ Gimbal w/long handle - 1.5' dia. telescoping center post w/hi & lo Hill Gorelock docking rings - PRO ll upper & lower junction boxes - XCS monitor bracket - Brand New! - Gen 2 battery rack w/XCS SD PDL - SmallHD 503 Ultra Bright w/mounting cage, A/B Gold mount, monitor bracket spud, SmallHD thin BNC cables - Hill Balance Bracket w/Gorelock 2 - Hill Mag Dock 2 (for docking the sled on your cart, a Moses pole, in the truck, the bathroom. You do you.) - 5 dovetail plates! - Rob Carlson rain covers for the battery rack & SmallHD - Brand New. Plus, a 'Steadicam' poncho! - 2 'J' brackets, one angled with a short post, one straight w/a long post - A/B Titan TWQ & A/B Dual 2722 chargers w/8 very experienced Dionic 90 batteries. - Nebtek Panasonic 7" SD monitor w/Multipower enclosure & A/B Gold mount, PRO cable - Pelican 1650 case, which I just spent hours working on installing a nice new foam cocoon for my, sorry, your sled. It has one broken latch. Not to worry, though. It has about twenty-five other latches that hold the thing closed. - Miscellaneous extras: recorder mount, original gimbal guts (pre VZ conversion leftovers), original short handle (no bearing. It's in the long handle.), Fracol Landing pad, bunch 'o cables, extra gimbal handle bumper rings, DB lll wrench, 2 gimbal bearing cover wrenches, 2 post lock-ring wrenches, 2 dovetail plate-mount iris rods This is an SD sled. I was this close to having Cramped Attic do the HD conversion but the lead time interfered with the start of a show and it didn't work out. Instead, I just ran the really nice SmallHD BNC cable up to the camera. Don't knock it. Disconnect the cable from the monitor, wrap it around the camera and you're ready to dynamically balance when you see the director coming around the corner. I bought this new around 2000-2001. The only thing to ever fail was a breaker. I took it into GPI and they replaced all three with heavy duty versions. The one flaw is at the top right corner of the forward battery mount. A little piece of it is broken off (see picture). It has no functional effect. I even have that little piece. If I have a second I'll try and glue it back on. As you can see, the sled has an installed XCS PDL. I spent nearly all of my career looking at a green screen, with a really nice electronic level. I still have a couple TB-6's in the stable. They're up for grabs as well. I figured that the potential buyer of this rig would be more interested in the SmallHD, so I'll sell those separately. I could be wrong. Anyway, the Nebtek is a pitiful substitute for a TB-6, but it should display the PDL, I believe (I never had to find out). Bring a camera. We'll discover something new, together. I'm including all the Gorelock stuff because you've got to put the thing down at some point. If you already have one and don't need the HBB, rings & Mag Docks, I'll reward your highly refined sensibilities and knock some $$$ off. The batteries. They've seen some action. They've been recelled. Several times. They work. I've got lots of pictures of everything mentioned here. I'll post just a few. If you're a serious potential buyer, please ask if you want to see other angles or details. You parting-out vultures will just have to take a break and circle for a good long while. In fact, fly over to my soon-to-be-posted list of the rest of my gear. You'll find plenty to feast on there. You could get almost everything else you need to make up whole kit from that list, this sled and my arm, which I posted earlier. Give me a bit to get that other gear posted. Thanks for lookin'. - John Still No Freed Sled Hankammer call or text: 213-810-2218
  11. I bought this arm new from GPI, right here in the Valley, about seven years ago, give or take. I'll see if I can dig up an invoice or something, to verify my purchase. This arm has proven to be the one thing, in nearly thirty years of buying gear, that significantly improved my operating. If you've never had the pleasure of using one of these then I'd wager you're missing out. This arm in particular is in great shape. There are a few cosmetic blemishes here and there, mainly some scratches on the ends of the blue canisters. I mostly used blues for the work I did. Which brings me to the reason I'm selling this beauty: RETIREMENT. I am done...technically. I won't rule out regular operating now and then, but as far as Steadicam goes, I'm hangin' it up. And selling all my gear. This arm is the first thing I'm posting. There's lots more to come: PRO ll sled w/DBlll, three different vests, two TB-6's, my beloved Innovativ Ranger and gear cabinet, batteries, chargers, MDR-3, Klassen Garfield, DB ll, QRB w/touch 'n go plate, SOS, a really sweet 2-Bartech focus system (Thank you Jim Bartel for a great piece of gear, as well as being a wonderful-to work-with vendor and stand-up guy!), a brand new PRO gimbal bearing, a Camwok 3000 for goddsakes! Plus more gear. I'll be posting this stuff as I get pictures taken. The arm, with 4 blue canisters, attached Klassen solid block and some other stuff, will come to you in a Pelican case, nestled in a really cool foam configuration I think I stole from Ron Baldwin. Don't worry about Ron. I'm giving him a potentially historically interesting bit of gear that came on my first sled, which I bought from Bob Ulland. If it turns out to not be that interesting then he can bite me. I digress. A separate box will contain the canister case and arm bag. $21,000.00 The other stuff includes: - 4 black canisters that got used only a few times, well-protected in the original canister carrier case (that's probably not the real name of it). It's a little rectangular cordura bag with a nice foam block which has four holes for the extra canisters. - Original flexible block - T-handle wrench for adjusting the canister spring tension and removing the canister-end bolts. - 2 trunion cover & hinge pin wrenches - A couple extra canister bolts and hinge bumpers - PRO arm bag (heavy black cordura) Call or text: 213-810-2218 I'm in LA. As is the arm. - John
