  1. Martin Yeah, similar accident, but the other one was terrible.
  2. Andrew I remember years ago I`ve seen in the Rugby word cup played in Australia where an steadicam Operator was crashed in a play by a New Zeland player in Canada vs New Zeland There was a Canadian wing running near to the line and the steadicam operator follow him. A very big "All black" appeared and give him a tackle and cought the Canadian player and the steadicam operator too in the same move! The operator fell down v-e-r-y b-a-d. I tried to see what happened, but only saw this moment... Gus.
  3. Gabriele: Basson is made here in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I n-e-v-e-r saw a Basson working here. Nobody has this equipment. In my opinion, wait a little more and buy an used SK. Best to all, Gus PS: Maybe I¨ll go to Torino. If this happens, I´ll contact you. PS: Job said: "...Sure, you can use it for sports. Just make sure not to run with it. Otherwise you will lose bits and pieces from the rig. Dont use heavy camera's eighter or the arm will snap. Dynamic balance wont be there, and the quality is crap. The best way to use this rig is to stand still, dont walk, dont run, just stand still. Oh wait, you could use sticks.." hahaahahahahauhuuuhhuhuuhahahaha!!!!    Great advice Job. Did you see "Julia´s Tango"? The Holland crew will come to Buenos Aires again to shot the 2nd season.
  4. Hi I have an Sachtler Artemis Cine-HD with an Artemis arm -26kg/57 lbs model- The arm is a rock and works very good, but is heavy than others models. I didn´t try the new arm yet, but a friend was at NAB and said that is v-e-r-y light and strong than the first models of the Artemis Arms. Maybe in a future will change my Artemis arm for the new model. here a link about: http://www.artemis-hd.com/produkte/artemis...d/federarm.html Besto to all, Gus
  5. Hi Elliot I´m owner of an EFP Model too, and use it with heavies cameras than a EFP can carry on, is for my opinion the best way to breack something (gimbal-arm or vest) Take care. What about the drop time? I think the Magazine were empty and this will complicate more to arrive to your balance when the Mag is full. Try to use the accesories (Video Sender or a recorder onboard) in the lower sled, that can help you... Best to all, Gus.
  6. Jay said: "...Another little trick is to lay down chain link fencing then cover it with sand. It gives you the stability on the sand and you can hide it so it won't be seen by the camera..." ;) Great advice
  7. Happy Birthday again... Today is the 3rd anniversary waiting my Benz 5000 Follow Focus, bought to Mr Ben Fisher. (I bought my equipment in March 2004) Maybe Ben Fisher has some problem anodizing it. In his last e-mail (2 years ago) he was anodizing the equipment. Maybe is he changing colours and trying different options ? Happy birthday... <_<
  8. uhuhuhuhahahahah "...Be forewarned: the other 1% might try to follow you home after wrap...!..." great advice Charles A good idea is: -Buy a electric lighter igniter. -Modified it to 12V with his control to the gimbal (like a Zoe control Zoom) -When the director touch the Sled, Turn on the lighter... :D
  9. Hi Ari: Usually when I need film somebody who is walking and after sitting in a chair (or maybe 2 people chatting sit in a chair) I use the J-Bracket in regular mode. In order to fell free the pans, I use the Jerry Hill collar in the arm post, leaving free the J-Bracket, like you can see on the picture. That help me a lot, Best to all, Gus.
  10. Hey Ronveto Yes...like Thomas said, don`t fight with a Thailand people. I Practice martial arts and Muay-Thai`s low kicks are very V-E-R-Y dangerous... Post some pictures shooting Rambo. I`d like see some of them. Best regards, Gus
  11. Hi Jeff Really look very nice. What about the post? This is a telescopic post. Did you change or modified the original? And what about the arm? The original Provid arm can lift a heavy HD with Follow Focus and accesories? Best regards, Gus

  14. Hi Andrew: Basson Steady is made in Argentina, and n-o-b-o-d-y here has a basson Steady. I never saw one of them working here. I saw his web page, and I don´t like it. Best to all, Gus.
  15. Hi everybody: Maybe is a stupid question, but anyway... Always, when we setup the Steadicam, we put the receptor in the front of the Steadi, (and the antenna receptor looks ahead) but the focus puller always will be walking back of the Steadicam Operator, "far" from the receptor. There are some places where the signal is with a lot of interference, and the focus puller must walk near us in order to be a better signal between the trasmiter & receptor. In this case, is better setup the receptor looking back? Or always is better put the receptor looking back? I hope that the question is understood. Happy 2007 for all, Gus.
  16. Hi Delfino: What kind of monitor are you using? Best, Gus.
  17. "...My Titan Transvideo wirless system hardly worked at all. The controlroom had picture for 5% of the time I was rolling, I had the reciver in the room with me and a BNC running to the controlroom. Someone said wireless internet can affect microwave systems, is that true? So no one was wataching my shot and no one was telling me what to shoot..." Hi Philip: I don´t know what kind of location did you work, but somethimes, when the Director Monitor is far from the set and I have problems with the signal, I don´t leave the receptor on the rack of video assist. I bring the receptor near to the Rig, where I am working. Search 110V near to the set (or try to power the receptor with batteries- I made an Anton Bauer adaptor to power with 12V my Receptor), and from the receptor, a long bnc to the monitor. This tip helped me a lot. Best regards, Gus.
  18. Hi Tom: Check if your cables and accesories are ok. Maybe you have a short-circuit. If you need change the Breaker, I bought some of them for my EFP some month ago. The code is: Klixon Texas Instruments. 7277-2-5 http://www.sensata.com/products/controls/acb-7277.htm My EFP is not modified. What is MMX convertion? Best regards, Gus
