  1. A Used Sony 537 or D30 w a betacam SP back with a used Canon zoom lens from ebay will only cost about $300 complete. Get an upconverter to convert the image to SDI and your set with a real camera.

  3. I've had a V Mount release and fall off while in low mode. Only had to happen once for me to never trust that mount again. It's just not worth the risk of it sliding off and breaking or worse, falling onto the camera or lens and damaging something far more expensive that the battery itself. I've had AC's mis mount my Gold Mounts plenty, with that single tab not sliding into the slot, but that just ends up being super difficult to remove later and messing up my balance, not falling off. Just my opinion and experience. Ozzie

  8. The Silveratray weighs in at 8oz. with the included MSE 1/4-20 bolt.
  9. Hi there Brent. A full workshop is definitely advisable. I would also call around and find out what others are charging currently in your market. I know the gear or experience level isn't the same but they may help you narrow down what you might expect to get. Also, the USED market is full of great rigs.. Are there any full time Steadicam Ops in your area? Ozzie
  10. Hi folks. Finally got around to making another run of the Silveratray. It replaces the finder on most every broadcast Sony or Panasonic camera ( WILL NOT WORK ON IKEGAMI OR GRASS VALLEY) This quick bracket allows you to slide it onto the dovetail in front of the handle and you can use it for many things. Attach a prompter monitor to it with the included MSE 1/4-20 bolt. or add a piece of velcro to the plate and put whatever you want on there, Audio receivers, MDR, you name it. I added 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes to the top of the clamp. Aluminum, Anodized, 100% made in South Florida. $160 shipped anywhere in the Continental US via USPS. Also have a few Zoom Risers available. These will sit on your gimbal handle and raises your Zoe Bebob Zoom control, also prevents marring. I've used my prototype for 10 years on live shows. Aluminum, Anodized, 100% made in South Florida $60 shipped anywhere in the Continental US via USPS.

  13. Hi folks, Is the Helium from Keslow power connector the same as a regular Epic, Dragon, Weapon? For those that know and have used it.... Thanks!, Ozzie
  14. Hiya Walter!. That job was just one of those jobs where it was live, Good thing is the rig was light, a 13" Prompter but still light. Sled was 41lbs, was able to use the Atlas arm. They're not all like that with them. Best, Ozzie
  15. Telemundo alone accounts for about 100k a year for me. I love them, lol. Who is this by the way? Real name.
  16. Hi Scott, welcome. I know it may be hard to comprehend sometimes, but there is absolutely NO rules for time on/time off. Like many ops who've been doing it a while and jump from live to episodic to features to commercials, Music videos or corporate jobs. Sometimes I'm a human tripod when I was told it would be a few shots, sometimes I come in, do 2-3 hours and am sent home. Just recently covering the election coverage in Telemundo network studios here. I rigged up at 6pm sharp, and stopped at 3:15am. Extremely small moves,. my AC and I timed my breaks where I docked the rig, all included was just under 45 minutes from 6pm til 3:15am. none was over 2 minutes, Absolutely no liquid or food in studio so I would run out with vest and arm to the door where I would grab a mouthful of food, one gulp of water and back in, in time to rig up and get to position 1 for the live bump in. It was all live all the time except for the extremely short commercial breaks. Vest never came off for over 9 hours. 4 hours after wrap, I was on a cruise ship on another job that went 16 hours the first day. Moral of my story/comment.... No matter what the job description is, expect anything..and DO NOT waver on your rate, this way you'll never be upset if your working too much as compared to any discount you may have given. Remember like Mike says, SMILE! it's the best job on earth!.. Except for saving lives and kittens

  18. Hi folks. Was on a job recently and it was with all C300 MK2 camera bodies. At one point, the Director says, lets do that but at 60fps,then a little faster. No worries we say. We are shooting in 2K and the AC switches to the speed and all of a sudden, no video, so I plug in the cable from the back of the camera ( MON Out straight to the monitor ( Transvideo HD6 Silver knob Evolution), nothing, I plug it directly into a Panasonic Broadcast 17", Nothing, I pull out my CInetronic GEN 1 7", ..Nothing. We switch back to regular speed, Got picture, several AC's tried their hand at it and nothing, so we kept rolling at 23.98, later in the shoot, a guy walks up and says "Ah, the MK2, we have one at my agency, and it's a love hate relationship", I ask why, he says, " Cause we can't see anything out the BNC's when we shoot slow mo!". So... What are we missing here folks? I tested this with all 6 cameras and nothing!. I must be missing something, It's not possible that Canon made an upgrade to their C300 and decided that if your in 2K ( which outputs a regular 1080 picture just fine), you would not be able to monitor externaly the picture if rolling at a higher frame rate... School me, Cause I just don't know!. Thanks in advance, Ozzie
