  1. Hi there folks. I think it's time for me to get a couple of new Anton bauer Batts for my rig, but I want to get rid of a bunch of non well working batts, they charge up, and then die really fast, so I figured I'd pass them on to folks who want the smaller lighter weight shells to make their own . Here is what I have. PS. I need to buy 2- NEW or semi NEW Hytron 140 batts for some shoulder rigs I have, that need the weight of a Hytron 140. If anyone wants to do some kind of partial trade, let me know. Here is the list. I have 2 Anton Bauer MAGNUM 14 Logic Series, One seems to have been rebuilt at one time, one has a PRO Battery, INC wrap around shell, and the other just has the standard rubberized AB wrap. These are 5 3/8"x 4 1/2 x 3 1/4" 2 Anton Bauer Digital Compac Magnum 14, these are smaller, they are 4 3/8" x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2" one of those was re celled by rathbone for me about 5 years ago. 2 Trimpac 14's, with the digital bar display on the side. and I believe I have 2 Hytron 50's in Washington, where I'll be again on the 3rd of December. I know there is at least one there, both have the digital bar readout on the side. If anyone out there has a couple of good working Semi new Hytron 140's ( not 100's), that they want to trade for these 8 batts and some cash, let me know. Thank you, Ozzie 305-216-8395
  2. Hello, Here is an Aluminum Post with inner post for you to start making your own stabilizer sled or Steadicam as many know it to be called. This post is 1.5" in diameter and the inner post slides up and down it with no effort. It is raw aluminum, so after making any modifications and adding your top and bottom, you'd be best to have it anodized so that it retains it's smoothness and is protected. The inner post has been drilled every 7/8" of an inch or so with a small diameter hole. You can use this as a spacer to then drill and attach a plunger on the outer post and then pull and click it into the various holes on the inside post and adjust your length of sled this way. You imagination is the key to making this work, but this is the exact size that the standard 1.5" sleds are made. the posts were purchased from Industrial metal supply in Sun Valley, California they are the same supplier of the post's in their raw form to a few of the stabilizer manufacturers. The main post is 15 inches long and the inner post is 13 and 7/8". Good luck on your stabilizer project. Each set will be taped up in blue painters tape before shipping out and wrapped in paper and bubble wrap for protection before shipping. All sales final. There is machining involved to complete your sled. this is only a raw part or parts to assist you in completing the system. Start off with this good post and you'll be all the better for it. Paypal accepted. Price per 2 section Raw post is $80. and includes shipping to the lower 48 States. Shipping to anywhere outside the lower 48 is priced per address.

  7. Hi everyone. Long time. I've been on Miami ink now for so long I hear Tattoo machines running in my sleep, while I eat and even when i'm driving. Some of you might have seen the pics of my (new to me) 95 LWB Rover which I flipped end over end and totalled last Memorial Day weekend. I'm OK, incredibly enough I walked away from it with only bruising and scratches and a very large concusion on my head. The real reason I'm writing is I'm trying to become a voting member of the academy ( emmy's) and I need the signature of a peer member on my Application. A friend from the Amazing race has already signed it for me but he is not in my peer group. Are any of you Emmy Academy members in the cinematography peer group, and if you are would you sign my application if I fed ex'ed to you? Give me a call if you could help. I'll see all of you at Cinegear later this month. Regards, Osvaldo Silvera, SOC www.silverafilm.com 305-216-8395

  17. Hello folks. Well, David did me the great favor ( Thanks again!) of picking up the arm from Tiffen and delivering it to Rob Luna. I have spoken with Mr. Luna and am waiting to hear from the adjuster in the insurance company. But now I have this question for all Steadicam Operators who have had an arm break a spring while under load. What happen and did the insurance do about it. The reason for this question is like in a court case. I need to be able to refer to other cases where an operator was operating and had the arm under load, and a spring broke. Did the insurance company whether productions or the operators cover the repair? Please email me the stories if you could. Thanks!!! Ozzie
  18. Hold on Ron!!! I'm on my way!!! Started driving cross country from Miami on Sunday 7pm, Passed El Paso about 3 am on Tuesday. was going to be in LA by 3pm!!. Well then My Water Pump shaft gave way while driving with no warning, sending my Fan into the radiator, Shreaded the Fan, Radiator, and Water Pump!. Used AAA plus 4 seperate times to travel 387 miles to Tucson!! got the Water Pump fixed, and Fan, Radiator comes in an hour, and while I'm at it I'm replacing the Gas tank with a larger 34 gallon tank I got. So I should be on my way into your town at about 1am!. Have meetings tomorrow all day but I plan to swing by and say hello afterwards so you can see the Blue Rover firsthand. Will have to continue the trip up to Oregon on Saturday afternoon. SO no time to wheel. But I'll be in the LA area mid January til February so we'll have time then. Ozzie Stuck in Tucson Hotel till the Rad gets here.!
  19. Hello there, UPDATE: As of last week Thursday, COMPLEX corp insurance based out of San Francisco tells the production company that Tiffen would receive a check by this Tuesday. Well yesterday I figured I'd give the production company a call to see what's up. They tell me that the Insurance company's adjuster Neil declined the claim and they are refunding the Deductable. So I am to call this Neil person at Complex corp, or the adjusters office and see what this is all about, aparently they told the Prod company that they deemed it not covered under their policy....( wait a sec, then why did they write an insurance policy for it and charge the Production company for it?) They also told the Prod company, this was the first time they had a claim from a steadicam op. Anyone have any experience dealing with Complex Corp in San Francisco? Since I have been without arm for 3 weeks now. I need to resolve this quick. If it means getting a claim going against Complex Corp in California court, I'll be driving thru there late next week. Any suggestions? Ozzie
  20. Hey there David. Thanks for the call last week. I heard from the production company that the insurance company asked them to send in the deductable and they did last week. So I'm hoping that I get a call from Tiffen this week to let me know that the insurance company sent them a check and the order is under way. They are re using the switcharound from my arm so the replacement cost would be lower and the insurance company wouldn't bark that much. Let's see how long it takes. Thanks again to everyone who has been keeping up with me on this. Ozzie
  21. Hey there folks. The insurance company (Complex Corp.) is in the process of putting all te required paperwork together. hopefully I'm not without arm for a long time. Haven't heard back from Tiffen for a couple of days... Are they closed? for any occasion? Have lost 2 steadicam days so far. What's the process for that wwith insurance companies? Anyone have any experience with this? This insurance company freaked out when I told them what aa new arm cost. They actually said to me that since the Deductable for the production company was 3500 that they would probably be buying the arm out of the deductable if it needed to be replaced. I told them wwhat Arms cost, and the Lady says "Dollars?". They immediately passed me on to the bulldog which started asking me if I knew how to properly load the rig, and where I had learned to use the steadicam, and wanted me to detail step by step what happened. and was concerned that i might have overloaded the rig. Yada Yada Yada. I'll know more once I speak to someone at Tiffen about what they have said about the Arm. whether they want to replace it or repair it with the same Gold spring and paarts that broke. I'll let everyone know what comes out of this. Ozzie
  22. Hello there folks. I just wanted to once again Thank everyone who helped me out last Wednesday when my 3A arm blew up in NYC. I called Erwin, who got me Alec, Jamie, and Will's numbers. Got help from everyone, Jamie was ready to have me pick up his arm, finally one of our grips that day David happen to have purchased his arm from PJ McDonald and quickly ran home and brought it to set, helping us finish the day and the next with great results and no downtime. This really is a great group of professionals to belong to. Always thhere to help someone out in a pinch. My arm is at Tiffen and should be diagnosed by Monday. Thanks again everyone. Ozzie
