Have owned my Bartechs (2) since........Can't even remember ( 15 years +), I have yet to get a client to pay for it, but hey, it's saved the day and made my life easier many times. I have gotten great rentals from my Boxx Meridians at times.

For me in particular, there have been several jobs that have booked me and then last minute dropped steadicam from the budget and just went Movi/Ronin. One in producer in particular who I have worked with several times called me after the job was done to apologize since he had a nightmare with the thing and the client was not happy. As for rate, that has only gone up, never down.

Hi folks. Just thought that a bunch of us older timers here may have a bunch of non HD tapes we'd like to get transferred to a hard drive, to protect it for future use or viewing and to get back some much needed shelf space somewhere in our lives. I put together a transfer system rack of the above mentioned formats with all professional editing decks to be able to provide this service. Only to SD, I do not up convert to HD. I saw a local big transfer house here in South Florida charges anywhere from $45/hr for a Mini DV to Hardrive transfer to $125/hr for Digibeta. You provide your hardrive. I'm thinking way less than that. I'm set up to transfer to 2.5" laptop style drives that I can place in a caddy. The 500GB Samsung drives are less than $180 at Best Buy and hold about 14 hours of SD material in .MOV files If anyone is interested, please reach out to figure out what you have in terms of time and I'll be more than fair. PS. you'd be responsible for the shipment of your tapes to me and back to YOU, it's up to you to toss them after your sure everything is good on the transfer. Walter is right about the Pap buying receivers to grab footage. A freq scanner and a few of the more popular TX receivers and it's like they're shooting the footage themselves. That's why most reality shows with Celebs only transmit images with all the camera info on it and not clean. I remember Real World 5 in Miami, Jan -June 96' from the balcony of the house we noticed we could see a camera feed in the big projection screen TV out on the neighbors yard. They could literally change the channel to see any of our 6 cameras, 24/7. Not a thing we could do about it. The TX were from Wexler and were black boxes with antennas, no labels of any kind, sandwiched between the BVW600 and the AB Brick and a hole at the bottom from where a cable came out to plug into the BNC out on the back....I still have headaches from that.

Hi Paul.. A question that others may have.. The LP4 CHarger has a small antenna. I would guess this is enabled to be able to see diagnostics, etc.. on a mobile device? Is there an Android App that can be downloaded to use with this set up? I've seen these chargers a lot but no one has had a way to see the info on a mobile device. Also... Which 4 position charger is faster the TM4 or the LP4? Ozzie

I'd love to see him set up on set and a collection agent, come over, grab every one of your cables from his kit just as he's ready to do the first shot of the day. It's one of those small things that without you can't operate. If your reading this whomever you are. Pay Terry what you owe him.....Or have you been working 100% for free the last 2-1/2 years?

That's quite odd. I used a Cinemonitor 3a Super Bright without a hood for 10 years, now a HD6 blue knob, then gray knob for the last 6 with amazing results, never used a hood in Miami Sun. and the HD6 I have does have a shiny screen. I hope it's some weird setting. best of luck.
