  1. They are compatible, although you have to get a different motor cable from RED as well. Not sure exactly how it works, but it's something with the impedance that the cable changes...
  2. I flew out last night for a job I'm DP'ing/Steadicam'ing this Tuesday and Wednesday and I realized I forgot to pack my Klassen vest arm in the case. Is there one out here in LA I could beg/borrow/steal/rent? I appreciate it!!

  4. For sale is my lightly used Paralinx Arrow-X TX, RX and Array Antenna. This is the SDI system. It works great, in very good shape. The receiver has Anton Bauer plates on, that can power the receiver on one side and connect to the Array on the other. It also has the power supply and a Ptap power cable for the TX. Comes with a Storm Pelican case that holds it all. New, all of this is a little over 5K. Selling for $3,000.00 shipped in the ConUS. ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http://
  5. Looks like a rebranded old version of the Teradek Bolt 2000...
  6. I must say that after doing a ton of gimbal work in commercials, you guys are selling yourself short. Yes, you don't have to use a part of your brain to monitor and keep level at all times, but that's about it. All the skills you learned and honed in moving a camera, designing shots, having a perfected sense of timing and all the other factors that make a great Steadicam shot, are still in play when working with a gimbal. Therefore I charge the same for operating Steadicam or gimbal, and I also charge same for the gear package, as all of the accessories are the same. And I also use my Klassen vest with an EasyRig adapter, the EasyRig arm and a Serene arm with the Ronin. So it's basicaly a mutant Steadicam :)
  7. I still like having the monitor separate from the receiver. They can be independently upgraded, repaired and so on. Who knows what will become obsolete first?
  8. Allright, price drop: Individual parts: 1.6K each Heden 700 for the RedRock motor 750 for each receiver 1.8K for the transmitter with the iris upgrade 600 for the RR Cinetape
  9. I for one think it's a great idea. Usually a handheld monitor is used a few feet away from the camera, so long range for those is not necessary. A smaller size for a handheld rig would be optimal.
  10. I'm selling my trusty Digital Bartech kit: Bartech handset W/ iris and 16 but upgrade from PLC, Sr. 2081 6 Aluminum marking disks BDR receiver V1 BDR receiver V2.1 RedRock Micro CineTape and PTap power cable Pelican case Clamp mount Battery Clip for 9V batteries Epic/Scarlet start stop cable Straight-straight motor cable Straight-angled motor cable Ultra thin gimbal motor cable 2xPTap power cables 4 pin XLR power cable Alexa 3 pin power cable Alexa Start Stop cable Bartech analog thumbwheel (only works with an analog receiver, not included. God thing to have just in case) Extra antennae for receivers Heden M26VE motor with 0.8, 0.6, 0.5 and 0.4 gears Heden M21VE motor with 0.8, 0.6, 0.5 and 0.4 gears OR RedRock Torque motor with 0.8 gear You can chose if you want 2 Hedens or a Heden and a RedRock motor. The RR works surprisingly well, very quiet and precise. Excellent for iris. $6.5K with 2 Hedens $6K with 1 Heden and 1 RR. At PLC, the set with only the Handset, 2 motors, 2 receivers, 2 motor and power cables is $10.1K Individual parts: 1.8K each Heden 800 for the RedRock motor 800 for each receiver 2K for the transmitter with the iris upgrade 600 for the RR Cinetape
  11. So simple: adaptive mode or adaptive and quiet record... This hasnt been a problem for people that know how to use the camera for a long time now...
  12. I got offered the job. Didn't have to think twice. Also, I looked at the show and it's all Steadipod. Just for the sake of moving the camera quicker between setups. No Steadicam moves per se. Good luck to whomever took it. It will be a good learning experience...
  13. I own Paralinx products. I have an Arrow+ with receivers attached to SmallHD monitors. It works great and always a hit on set. I also have now the Arrow-X, which shares the same chassis with the Tomahawk. It works great, with the advertised range of 700ft seeming very conservative, as I have had great success through all sorts of walls as well. Service is top notch. They get back to you within a few hours. Once I had a TX get wet, and they sent a loaner overnight immediately, so I had it next day. They are very attentive. Can't go wrong with them...
  14. I guess I am one of the few that had bad experiences as well. Not this level of bad, but they turned me off and I ended up with Paralinx products, and am very happy with those guys service. I had a commercial shoot in a hospital and had lawyers for the product (long story) hanging out in a tour bus outside. They needed to see what we were shooting. I wanted to broadcast a signal over the internet as the distance was prohibitive for anything else. This was before the Bolt was released, and I wanted to use the Cube for the job. Now, I'm not a network engineer but I am not technically challenged and I know that the Cube is designed for what I needed. Therefore I called them to ask for guidance on how to do this. They did not want to help me at all, citing that I had to use 3rd party products, like 3G modems and such, and because of that they wouldn't be able to help me out. I spent a lot of time trying to make it work and it did for a second, but no longer and I had to give up. That was very disappointing. We ended up having a lawyer on set at all times, and the shoot went fine, but I was really turned off by that attitude...
  15. It's not like it's a default font... Even if you didn't know about this, now it's brought to your attention...
  16. Hey Alan, I got the Dynamo, but haven't had a chance to put it to good use yet. But does it matter which side is in and which is out? I didn't see any markings, so I assume it's interchangeable?
  17. Sizewise you can't really go wrong with a digital bartech and a heden 21 motor. Tried and true.
  18. I am on a shoot right now for a resort chain, where we are always shooting high speed on an Epic. The producers like to still feel the motion of the camera and each shot lasts maybe 3-4 seconds in the finished spot. so I'm running, whipping the camera from side to side around models, and it looks ridiculous as I'm shooting it, but as soon as we play it back, it makes sense, and the clips have a nice camera move, fairly regular speed to them, when in the meanwhile the action within the frame is slow. Works great.
