  1. I pieced most of the components separately. I purchased the 3A sled from John Vetter. The sled has Derose mods on it. It has an adjustable sliding base with measurement marks, A telescoping post with measurement marks, and a modified d-box that attaches below the top stage and various video/power outputs. The original 3A monitor never worked, and I replaced it with another steadicam green screen CRT. I think it's off a EFP, but it has a built in frameline generator. I will include the original 3A Monitor parts if you wanted a try at repairing it. I will include two gimbals. One is a custom made gimbal and the other is a pro-gear steel 3a gimbal. The gimbals will not hold proper dynamic balance, However, the pro-gear does hold it better. Comes with 6 batteries, I would say half of them needs to be re-celled. Comes with a PAG charger that will charge two at once. An assorted collection of power cables from XLR to panavision to big/small lemos. Bartech Battery meter and 24v converter is also included. Sled: Derose modded 3A sled Adjustable base Telescoping post Modified d-box with various video/power outputs. Steadicam Green CRT with frameline generator (I think it's an EFP model) Bartech Voltage meter 24V converter 6 batteries PAG Charger Post wrap grip Custom Gimbal Progear steel gimbal Progear docking bracket (Missing matching collar, using a different collar) 3 topstage plates. Extra spare parts top stage housing. See pictures for assortment of power/video cables Batteries and Sled come with Hard cases. Original broken 3A monitor. Pics. Pictures $2000 OBO.
  2. I have a IIIA gold spring arm forsale. The arm has been very well taken cared of. It has never been stored tensioned. It has seen VERY little use from me, only a handful of jobs. Only cameras flown were video, and no film. Asking 5500 OBO
  3. Going to part out the rig. 3A Gold Spring Arm - $5500 OBO Sled with accessories - $3000 OBO Vest - $900 OBO Thanks!
  4. It's time for me to sell the rig that I've been building over the past few years. Due to a full time job, I never got to operate as much as I would've liked. Right now, I feel I have a huge investment sitting in the closet collecting dust. So it's time for me to take a step back and re-evaluate my life. It has always been a dream of mine to operate fulltime and pay the bills at the same time. Unfortunately I haven't been able to dedicate the time to allow it to happen. That goal to operate will always be with me, I really do plan on fulfilling that goal in the future when my finances are in order. Here's story behind this rig. The arm is a 3A gold spring that I got from James Reid. I remember him mentioning that the arm was serviced not to long before I bought it from him. The arm has been very well taken cared of. It has never been stored tensioned. It has seen VERY little use from me, only a handful of jobs. Only cameras flown were video, and no film. The vest is a custom made back mounted vest with a fiberglass back and an aluminum arm that wraps around. I don't know the full history of this vest. There are alot of odd parts with this package. But with a little TLC, This can be a very well functional rig. I've flown it successfully on the jobs I've done. Pics: http://www.turborocco.com/3a/ Here's a list of everything. Car/Vehicle/Speedrail Mitchell mount Asking $12,000 OBO (All offers entertained) I am also willing to part it out. Please don't hesitate if you have any questions or need more pics of different angles.I apologize for the long Ad, I wanted to make sure I explain everything to the best of my ability.
  5. Just seeing if anybody had any old wireless remote focus system for sale. If anybody is using it as door stops, let me know. Thanks
  6. My gimbal doesn't balance correctly. Anybody have a gimbal for sale? Thanks Wing
  7. I just bought a EFP green crt to replace my 3a monitor. I was curious if anybody has made any brackets to adapt this to the 3a monitor arm/spud? I could go around and ask a machinist to help me make one. But if i don't have to re-invent the wheel, i wont. Thanks! Wing
  8. Jerry, Your absolutely right, I need to be schooled. I'm going to try my best and make it out to the october one. Gotta see if i can get the time off from work.
  9. Anybody have a spare front mounted vest laying around? Or if you know anybody in the seattle area that would be willing to rent one to me, that would be awesome. I'm just trying to scramble and get ready for this shoot on saturday. Starting to realize that the back mounted vest I have is not fitted right for me and causing me more pain than there should be. Thanks Wing
  10. Now that I got my rig up, I started practicing and after about 15mins or so of non stop walking around, my back starts to hurt. I'm trying to see if it's just my back getting used to the weight, or the vest isn't fitted for me. The vest I have is a custom made back mounted vest.
  11. I agree with you Eric, I have to keep my eye on a much larger area. My eye wanders much more compared to my other 7" lcd. But with my 7" lcd, once you walk outside into the daylight it completely washes out the image. I'm just hoping that i can save enough money in the next couple months to at least get the marell monitor.
  12. The gimbal works fine now. I placed some shims in it and now it holds balance. Sweet!
  13. Just keep in mind that this is a temporary solution until i can afford a marell monitor. I bought a supposely bare 12" daylight lcd with controller for really cheap. It's suppose to be 1500nits. I decided that i was going to build a cheapy enclosure for now and mount it on the sled to get me by for now. I have a shoot this saturday with a sdx900 and this whole week and last week i've been scrambling trying to find a fix for the 3a monitor with no luck. So i just did this for the time being. Laugh all you want. :P it works for now. I'll end up turning it into a portable field monitor once i get the marell. let me know what you think. :D http://www.turborocco.com/wingcam2/sled/pages/PICT0061.htm there's more random pictures of the monitor and sled, if you get bored.
  14. Thanks everyone for the advice and comments. The bearings are all new (new gimbal). I think i just need to shim it correctly. which i had to do with a older crappy progear 3a gimbal. At least i have a better understanding now and not freaking out cause i can't get the sled into DB. Thanks!
  15. I guess i should have mentioned this first. The gimbal I have is a home built gimbal, I got it on a groupbuy on hbs. the bearings are really smooth. One thing i'm not certain about is whether or not the yoke is centered with the rest of the gimbal. This gimbal is on my 3a sled. Here are some pictures of the gimbal. http://www.turborocco.com/wingcam2/gimbal/ I guess i should have mentioned this first.
