My first HD monitor was a Nebtek Solar 7" HD, which I loved until they stopped making certain electronics for that model. I looked and debated monitors for almost a year and I went with the Transvideo 8" XSBL. I found it was harder to go down in size to the 6" from using a 7" thats why I went with the 8." Yes, it is larger and some say the larger the monitor the more of a "sail" it can be in windy environments but I have not had these issues. The Transvideo does an awful lot, as it should for the price tag but I have been very happy overall for the 5 months since purchase. If you work at all in broadcast/ multicam its a fantastic choice. Definitely worth a demo.

Wireless FF, Video transmitters, and etc.

It has been my experience that it is more important to have your own wireless FF (I'm a Preston owner and a Stanton ZF owner personally). I have found in regard to wireless video every show I work on has been different depending technical on the set up of the show. If production hasn't already gotten them for the camera and needs you to provide the wireless video you can sub rent them far easier in my opinion. -
I had this issue with a WB show over the summer it took about 3 weeks into the show to get it resolved and a COI. Basically it all went to network legal - they dropped the box rental nonsense after I asked them if the techno was considered a "box rental," if not, treat me like the techno. It required a lot of pictures and a detailed inventory with prices. It's a real pain and production is not always aware of network policies and just want to get their papers signed. Keep up the fight

Hello Forum, Do any of you have a preferred shipper that insures high value? I found out today that Fed EX Ground only insures up to 25K. I need to go up to 55K to ship some gear domestically. I am with Walter P. Dolle personally, but does anyone know of a shipper that can insure at least 55K? DHL? UPS? I am used to flying with my equptment so this is new. I would perfer to have the burden of shipping insurance on the shipper primarely. Any thoughts? Thank you for any experienced input in advance. Cheers, Dave Kanehann, SOC
