  1. Hi! i'm deciding to buy a flyer ( in the worst case i practice on it and rent a big steadi). What are the work where the flyer can be the right rig? (other than dv and hdv handy camera work) Ciao Gabriele
  2. Hi, I'm a camera oprator (mostly video), I attended the tiffen UK 3day workshop and actually i'm renting a satchler dvpro (the flyer equivalent) for my works. Actually i'm not so sastified with my technique but i'm quite convinced to can improve, so I would like to buy a rig to practice and solving the question "can I be a really god steadiman?". I'm not in the possibility to buy a big rig but i had a offer for a used flyer LE in optimal working condition for 5000 euros that i can afford (but it will be a big investment for me). Any suggestion? In case of need is it easy to sell a used flyer LE for near 5000 euros to recover my money? For what i tryed at the workshop the flyer "fly" like a big rig, so it look possible to learn on it and then rent a 3A if arrive big guy work, is it right? Suggestions? Ciao to all from Torino Italy Gabriele
  3. Hi all! I'm looking for weight plate or a weight cage in Europe to buy. I'm using a sachtler's artemis dv pro sso it have to link with a 1/4" screw with a little frontal pin (it's like a normal dvcamera screw, that one you see on camera plate from manfrotto and sachtler). I need 2kg (near 4 pounds) weight, if possible i'm looking for a modulable set up. Ciao from Torino Gabriele
  4. sorry, no way to do it, i'm tryng to fly an hdv with a big battery but still light so my monitor and batteries are to close to the gimbal and i cant do a 360 wearing it. :-( i'm looking to weight-up the camera, do you have some suggestion? maybe a DOY camera cage? Ciao Gabriele
  5. Please let me know the best way to check dynamic balance without a enough long docking bracket, i'm always hitting the c-stand with monitor and battery (if someone from artemis-sachtler is listening, please change your design of artemis dv pro). Ciao Gabriele
  6. No i'm still looking what will be the cheapest but good working choice? i think a deal in used stuff off coourse. Is the connection between arm and sled standardized? Ciao Gabriele
  7. Hi all, i 've spotted a glidecam gold vest and arm and i'm couriuos about it's quality and compatibilty with other brands, so if someone has an opinion please share. :-) actually i'm starting to fly a sachtler dv pro md, nice object for what i can judge but i'm looking to fly bigger cameras.... ciao from Torino (if anyone pass from here let me know... beer and city tour offered) gabriele
  8. [...] Gabriele Hi Gabriele, i had the chance to fly the mk-v lite when i was @mk-v to take a workshop, and owning also a flyer i can tell you that there's a huge difference in performance between the two, that's my opinion of course, but remember also that you're comparing two sleds that aren't in the same price range, and this is reflected of course in technical choices and quality of materials that are used to build the rig. As Job said, the Lite is fully upgradable and is a modular concept, the flyer born and die as it is; A great combination? Fly the Lite on the Flyer arm, just sweeeet. Mk-v workshop? Simply fantastic, don't miss it; better, take it before to choose a rig, it will give you the basic knowledge to choose the best for your needs. Prices, ask directely @mk-v, no better source. Hope it helps Fabrizio Hi Fabrizio, just for budgeting what do you think a mk-v lite full sistem is gonna cost? and what about the modularity? wich piece will work on different system? starting v-25 and then mk-v? the artemis look very interesting also.. off course i'm gonna take a workshop, suggestion in europe? prices? (glidecam make a good deal, satchler and mk-v i don't know) ciao Gabriele
  9. Ciao from Italy, I'm interested in opinions on mk-v lite and mk-v workshops (and also prices), any first hand experience? staying on a low budget what you'll chose between Steadicam Flyer, Satchler Artemis DV pro (fx or MD), Mk-v lite, Glidecam V25? (if I had the money i'll like to fly a ultracine or nexus even for a dv camera but not enough money) Is the Mk-v lite the only one upgradable between this pool? Ciao again from Torino and please forgive my poor english Gabriele
  10. HI!!!!!!!! my first post. please forgive my horrible english! i'm italian mother tongue, french fluent and piedmontese speaker :-) I found a bargain on a basson silver arrow for 1400 euros, I know everybody says it's a piece of crap but at this price i hope it will let me do the first step in the steady operation world and i hope i can use it on low budget sport productions, real estate videos and first of all to train myself for a real rig. What do you think? just trowing 1400 euros or a really cheap stabilizer that of course don't compete with real steady but it's the best avaible for under 2000 euros? Ciao Gabriele PS I did a lot of video work and some film as a assistant, WILLING TO LEARN SO IF INTERSHIP, WORK FOR LEARNING OR JUST BRINGING COFEE AND DO SOME STILL PICTURE, I'LL VOULUNTEER
