Chinese Knock off steadicam's are starting to piss me off

Here is a Varizoom rig at the Superbowl Media Day. The op walked into the superdome with no stand, gets to security sets the rig on the base then lets it fall on to the mat, same for the arm. I watched him do that several times throughout the day as well as operate as far down as he could get his hand to the base of the sled... Totally unprofessional, but im sure this is future of our business, producers dont care as long as its cheap and looks "OK"... -
I was not aware of the second battery mount on the zephyr. Thanks guys for letting me know about it.

The charging part in the docking bracket not at unimaginable... With things like charging mats and such. Contacts on the gimbal and bracket, coiled cable (ran inside your stand) that connects the docking bracket to the bottom of your stand that's connected to a block battery or AC power. Now I wouldn't use it to charge your batts but to switch power sources to larger one is not a bad idea... Saves you money, you would have to buy less batts, and your battery overall life would be longer. I have thought about adding a 4-pin and a 3-pin XLR in the bottom of my sled to plug in a block battery so that the camera would be powered from that instead of my batts. For those long lighting setups and stunt resets that take a long time. Also Alan, the Zephyr only has one battery postion...

TSA is worried about body scanners, earlier this year I went through 3 security areas in 2 different airports with a full size leatherman wave in my carry on... And the first check point I walked into the wrong concourse because I read my ticket wrong and I didn't realize it until I got in and couldn't find my gate... Screw those damn body scanners Im worried about checked and carry on bags... Also you only going to be as smart as the people that are working for you, some of those TSA people are pretty stupid...
