I am getting ready to attach a new yoke mounted LCD to my sled. I have discovered that with an Anton battery mounted to the monitor, the CG is shifted about maybe 1/2" to the right of center. So my question is, if I mount it at it's CG will having it shifted to one side have any ill effects balance wise? I suppose I could add a small piece of steel to even the weight distribution, but I would prefer not to.

I recently ran across this and figured I should share. It was recorded by my then roommate Leif on his a 4-track about ten years ago. I would like to run a coax for HDSDI down my Master Series post. Can anyone recommend something thin and flexible that will get the job done signal wise? Also where can I buy it? Preferably it would come with BNC connectors already installed, but if not, so be it.

I just ordered one of these since it now has adjustable frame lines. I can't wait to try it out in the direct sunlight as I have been running an el cheap-o for way too long. I'll report back once I run it through its paces at my upcoming outdoor shoot. And thanks to Charles and all who helped put together "The Great Daylight Monitor Shootout", the info I got from that thread really helped me make my decision.

Sounds like something you will have to build (or have someone do it for you). Not too difficult once you round up the required connectors and cables.

I installed BNC connectors up on the stage and down near my monitor with a thin coax that I ran down my post in my Master Elite. I connect the top BNC to the prompter out feed on the camera and have the truck feed program to that. Then I mount a small 2nd monitor (above or below my main monitor) and connect to the other end of the new feed. I also made an adapter to power the 2nd monitor off my sled. Works great. Marty's Idea works well too, I just don't like to keep my Modulus cooking for hours on end so I finally put in the wire. Good luck! Chris

I have never cleaned/lubed my Master Series gimbal. It seems to be fine but now I am thinking it may be time for a little maintenance. Sounds like most on this thread are talking Pro gimbals, anyone know how to open up a Master gimbal?

I too have a Master monitor that is has gone soft. It is only sharp when I set the brightness and contrast very low, but it is then too dark to really use in most situations. I use my LCD most of the time when I can, but outdoors I have to go with the greenie. When I do and I am pulling for myself, (on TV and video jobs) I usually end up just cranking it and praying for good focus. I would love to address this issue. Anyone know of a fix? Thanks!

You could use THIS to stay level and book your next gig all at the same time! :P (I think your iphone needs to be "cracked" to use this app, but with the new developer software out now, a legit one will probably show up soon.)

I too use a variation of Anthony's method which does indeed work quite well. My cable path is through the camera handle and straight down the right side of the camera, extending just below hand level and then looping up to my gimbal handle where I tie it off or I just hold it. Then like Anthony's, the cable is tied off at each segment of the arm and (mine) ends up anchored to my aircraft pin where it runs out behind me. I thought I had tried every which way to operate with a cable, with the above being the best I have found, but I am going to try your method Jerry, it looks quite worthy, thanks for the tip! Chris
