    Hi Louis,

I just joined the steadicam forum community yesterday.  I'm happy to be apart of the community and its a great resource for me as I pursue the steadicam dream.  I'm not able to reply to any posts, it just gives me an option to 'like' but no option to comment.  Any insight into why this is would be great.

Happy to be apart of the community, and want to be able to utilize this forum.

    best,

    Chris Vinopal

  3. Hi Jamie As to the battery Hanger YES it is a Steadyrig Battery hanger .The electronic on the base I would say are the same as a PRO 1 design you can switch from 12v/24v but you can't move where you would like the power to come from like the Pro 2/3 .The BH simple plugs into the base .It looks like a great rig for the price . Good luck with it . Louis Puli

  15. I would be contacting what ever the ASC is in Spain as they may have a list of operators .Do you have freelance Agents in Spain again they may know of steadicam operators in your area .As Lisa has already said The Steadicam operators Handbook is a GREAT place to start. On Youtube there is the EFP workshop video which is also good to get a great deal of operating tips from .You could also contact your local Tiffen reseller as they may also know of some local ops as well .Good Luck .

  17. https://www.facebook.com/groups/SteadicamGearBuySellRentSwap/ Here is one for sale on Face Book .The G-Zoom is a great replacement and his customer service if required is also very fast so I am told .As for price well quality douse come at a cost that what I say to my clients .When I step out on set My Reputation is on the line every time so I want my gear to be the best money can buy and in doing so it is reflected in my invoice. Good luck Louis Puli
  18. Hi Stephen You could do a static balance with a C stand but not dynamic balance as you will not have enough space between the stand and the rig .If you have a hard mount you could use that by mounting that to something (tripod or 2'' scaff )and then you will have the room to dynamic balance it . Good luck Louis
  19. Hi Stephen Here is a link to a Lipstick Camera . https://www.broadcastbruce.com/product/marshall-cv225-m-lipstick-ip67-hd-camera/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA0ZHwBRCRARIsAK0Tr-q4z_r4vSMQ_pGF_6fh7x2vac3jJz0SoSfjvPaTZvjcQbwtWkgTOjsaAhFOEALw_wcB Good luck Louis Puli SOC .
  20. I would be contacting all of the rental companies in England and seeing if they had a Video split for your camera on the shelf collecting dust that may like to sell to you .I would say you could pick one up quite cheap .Or you could use a lipstick camera and mount it to the viewfinder for a quick fix . Good luck Louis Puli
  21. Joshua contact Janice Arthur she make a great range of Weight Plates ok . Good luck Louis Puli
  22. Hi Charles I didn't know Arri made available the Trinity to other Rigs . https://www.arri.com/en/camera-systems/camera-stabilizer-systems/trinity/trinity-upgrade-third-party-systems1/K0.0019530 If I was in the situation of making the choice I would consider what is left of my Pro rig after the upgrade .Not Much .I would be buying a full Arri Trinity sled and use my Pro arm and vest .As for the Volt Yes it will and has been fitted on many Pro gimbals over the last 2 years .Alex can I say I have done several shot over my career where I have done 360 deg shot and the Pro gimbal worked fine .

  25. Hi Charles Alec and David points are very true they are very different in what they do .One douse levelling tool and the other is a device which can move the camera anywhere in 3D space . Your last 2 lines " "Trinity cost more but is the ability to invert the camera to low mode while shooting worth it? With a GPI sled I have the option of going either direction but I’m not sure which is better to invest in?" Remember tools like the Trinity have been around for many years now and we also have the brushless gimbal and Letus Helix and others .If you think these tools would be better then the standard Steadicam type of camera movement I would be asking a different question . MK-V AR Omega V Trinity V Helix V all Brushless gimbals .They all have their pro's and cons Price, reliability, size weight, etc, etc . You have to consider what is your career worth that is what you are investing in.As we all know nothing comes cheap in our industry and what douse is not worth buying .
