  3. Thank you so much everyone for the kind input and the advice. At the moment the rig available is the Neutron. The cam test is next week and I will fight to get the Si 2Ks instead. Thank you Pedro for the pictures. I will use it as a visual reference to the producers and with a little power of conviction, I might not need a physio at the end ;) And I would definitely try to look up the Paradise FX rig recommended by BJ. Thanks again guys, deeply appreciated. best, Joel
  4. Hi All, Wanted to tap into your expertise. I have an upcoming job with the likes of the Technica 3D rig with 2 Red Ones. I have seen photos of fellow operators with that set up and am wondering how is it possible to get that set up into dynamic balance. Do most of you just operate that massive set up in static balance then? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! Best Joel

  17. Hi All, Just wanna send out my deepest gratitude to Jim Bartell for his excellent after sales service and always trying to find a way to help out whichever way he can. And his prompt replies and willingness to listen to the equipment issues deserves great respect from me. Being all the way in Asia, its great to know that the distance and time difference doesn't deter him from always lending a helping hand. Thanks Jim! Best Joel

  19. Hey Ari, Thanks for the great amount of info. It made setting up the rig a breeze. The balance as you said is pure amazing! Love it, its going to make alot of difference. I had an issue trying to power it 12V but had no problem with 24V Fischer. But used the V mount instead to add a little more weight to the equation. I attached it to a Bon HD monitor and had all the information in my monitor, its a great video out indeed! Future looks good with this baby :) Thanks again for the info, it helped out great! Best Joel
  20. Hi Guys, Thanks for the insight and advice. I tried every means possible on shoot today and I screwed it up big time :( The sticks came in. I managed to get a master on the 35mm luckily (on take 4) but with the extended sled and the heavy ass camera, I really really couldn't handle the 85mm... I just keep losing him at the landings.. ARGHH! What would you have done? And whats the longest lens you've tried on the steps? Thank you again for your replies, much appreciated! J.
  21. Hi All, What was the longest lens you have operated with leading an actor up / down the stairs? Would like to get some advice because the longest I've done is a 35mm lens up some really steep steps on a MCU and it was already some trouble for me. Still a newbie. So now the dp on an upcoming job wants to do some really close up work up the stairs with an 85mm leading the actor and am not really sure if am up to it. Also the location starts with 10 steps up, a sharp turn to the right on a landing, then a sharp turn to another flight of 8 steps, a landing and another turn to the right with 15 steps. Damm... I've done quite a bit of long lens on the ground but just that once on stairs. Usually its advised that for long lens work we either have to extend the sled and spread the masses out to make it more angular resistant. Or also slap on the antlers. However, for stairs, if i extend the sled too much, I might hit the steps with the bottom of the sled and with the sled long, its also difficult to tilt for headroom. Antlers won't help for my situation because i have to get thru some really small door frame at the top of the stair way. Have you ever had to deal with this situation? If so, could you give me some insight? I was thinking of being on high low mode but the actor's pretty tall and when i get to the top its gonna be hard to frame him for a close up.. Cam's gonna be an Arri 535b. I understand doing a profile close up in this situation makes more sense but the dp's quite insistent on a frontal. Your help will be very much appreciated. Joel
  22. Hi Thomas, Thanks for the reply. I have also contact Chris upon reading his post a couple of weeks back. He has given a great detailed explanation to me however both of us were still unclear about the Master circuitry set up. It would have made sense if my wevi fried if i had it clipped to the 24V convertor at the bottom front of the sled or as in Chris's term the 'B' batt plate. But mine was fixed at the back on the 'A' plate so it gets a little confusing. What's stranger is that it actually worked quite fine for more than 2 weeks before it fried. Hence am still confused about it. Would you happen to have further insight? Thanks and regards Joel
  23. Hi All, Was wondering if i could get an insight from anyone who has used the WEVI Cam Wave wireless with the Master Series Film. Recently my Cam Wave smoked during a shoot when I had to run the 16SR3 (24V). I use the step up convertor that is similar to Afton's and both my batteries are AB batts. The wevi is sandwiched between the back of the sled and a hytron. Funny thing is that i managed to do about 17 days of shots with the same set up before it gave up on the 18th day. Never had this issue when i do a 12V set up. Any form of advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a great holiday ahead! Regards Joel
