  1. Hey There, I have an entire 3A electronics system complete w/ monitor. It was the last one made by CE and everything is in working order. I also have batteries and charger. You can basically build a 3A with what I have everything except the Donkey box. Let me know if you are interested. Jason Dittmer
  2. Hey Michael, After reviewing all the posts on this topic, and seeing the perverbial $%#@storm it has created and being one of the newer operators that didn't make the cut, I still would like to commend you on taking a leadership role on this and trying to organize something nice for the community. Taking a leadership role is never easy, you have no doubt been put in a tough position. Between your wife, the logistic realities of Gladstones and all the Ops and others that would love to attend. I know that I would feel the squeeze. In any community Leadership is key. Please don't let the frustration of this experience keep you or anyone else from future action. Thanks for putting yourself out there. See you all at Cine Gear. :) Jason D
  3. Danno, Buy the thing. You will like it. Good meeting you this weekend. JD
  4. Although I never posted. gladstones I thought I should gladstones weigh in on the whole Gladstones/ other watering hole debate gladstones. Truth is I gladstones don't really caregladstones. Sitting around on the gladstones water, waxing and waning with gladstones good friends as the dolphins surface out in front of gladstones. Sipping on good beergladstones and sweet coconut gladstones shrimp sounds nice. But honestly gladstones. I'll do whatever. Gladstones or some other place gladstones. Count me in. 5. Sven, I have Rob's cage as well. It is great. It will hold a DVX and the best part is that if you have a camera that just needs a little more weight, you can disassemble the cage and use the base to add weight. I love it. Buy one, JD
  6. Hey Tamara, I have a Pag charger and a bunch of 3A Batteries that I have wanted to get rid of but havn't found the time to post. Let me know if you are interested and I will send you a photo. Jason Dittmer jasondittmer@dittmerdp.com
  7. As for the Marrell Monitor and DL....... Got em... Love em..... They perform great and you can't You can't beat the price or service. JD
  8. Great advise, What is a snap plate? Sounds like something I would love to have. JD
  9. Hey Guys, I don't think that June 1 will work for me. My sis is getting married. Now I know that Steadicam ops are notorious for being gearheads, and I am no exception, but if anyone needs anything i.e. sleeping bags, pads, tents, stoves, ropes, crampons, jumars, ice axes, oxygen tanks, sherpas, or yaks. I've got em. So if I can't go I would be happy to help outfit "Whitneyfest 2006" On Belay, Jason D
  10. Good Luck Lars, Features are great as they tend to be longer projects and you get to develop a nice rythem and kinship with the crew. My two cents. As on any job, make sure they don't have to wait on steadicam. If they have two bodies, great check with the AD and make sure you are ready to go when they call for you. If they only have one body, then make sure you go to the prep. Throw everything up, make sure it works and is in the best configuration for you. Then.. make sure to mark everything so you know roughly where everything needs to be positioned to get a quick balance. Finally and this is important, attitude is everything. If the shoot is going to hell in a hand basket and production is a junk show, and the negativity is buzzing around, remember how great this job is and how lucky we are to be doing what we are doing and try not to play into it. I think negativity shows in our work. Again, Good luck and keep me posted Jason Dittmer
  11. I've got some NP-1s I wouldn't mind departing with Marc. drop me a line jason_dittmer@hotmail.com
  12. Thanks Mark and Brandt. I appreciate the info. Fly Safe, JD
  13. So if it comes to it, you're prepared to eat yourself. Or did I miss something? Chris You got it Matt P, No more climbig for a living. Good hobby though. Stay in touch. JD
  14. Hey folks, Looking for a back- up monitor. Interested in the Marrell High Intensity DO any of you have experience with it? Is it brite? Realiable? Easy to use? How are the framelines? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jason Dittmer
  15. The inability to view a monitor in daylight is a real problem. As professional Steadicam Ops, we can't really say that we can fly an HD camera, and view true HD-SDI....... But only if it is at nite or in a dark, interior environment. I'm sure you understand. But on the subject of HD Monitors, my HD solution was to buy a downconverter. Yes there is a delay. But it is about 3/4 X less expensive and my modulus doesn't transmit HD, With a Downconverter, I can view and transmit the downconverted signal.....You can also rent the downconverter to production. It has worked for me. My thoughts, JD
  16. I second the DO NOT BUY endorsement for the Panasonic monitor. Great for Studio use and the built in Waveform is nice, but not nearly bright enough to work with outdoors and to top it off it is quite heavy. Fly safe, JD
  17. I am in, as long as the expedition can agree that in an emergency I am the last to be eaten. :) Jason D P.S. Do you think that Tiffen would sponsor us. The first all steadicam op expedition to summit Whitney Via the dreaded East Face!!!!
  18. Fellow Operators, I am looking to have some cases custom foamed. Does anyone know of a place in the LA area that does it at a reasonable price? Thanks in advance. Jason D
  19. Thanks guys. Low mode is a no go. I put it up in prep today. It is a beast. And Hi/Low mode is an option. The good news is that because the camera is so heavy, it isn't that hard to get it down to about 4'10" Thanks for all you input. Your brother in sore backhood, Jason D
  20. Dear fellow Operators I have the good fortune of Flying a BL-4 this weekend. I Have heard from my crony BJ that this camera is a beast, particularly in Low Mode. I am shooting kids 4'10 and the DP wants to be at eye level. I am 6'3 Any suggestions as to how I can get this camera down low w/o going to low mode? Do any of you have any tips as to how to make this camera a little more steadi -friendly? Thanks in advance, Jason D
  21. If anyone out there is looking to offload a PRO Donkey Box please let me know. Thanks, Jason Dittmer
