This TWO AXIS Mitchell Base Nodal Head was custom designed by Clairmont Camera after years of asking cameramen what they liked and disliked about the Weaver Steadman Nodal Head- As a result Clairmont decided to use Cartoni Fluid Dampeners- that are smoother and faster to adjust then the dampeners used on the Weaver Steadman. Clairmont also added super smooth rod clamps for quick pipe length adjustment - and screw-in pipe caps for safety. These fluid head can be adjusted in a myriad of camera positions - just as the Cartoni Lambda Head does- but for about $13,000.00 less! ATTACHED PHOTOS show how the Nodal head can be used like a regular fluid head or "under slung" on a camera slide for very low camera angles or Table Top photography- The nodal head is also great on camera cranes or jibs. A Three way adjustment handle, included comes in handy for the camera operator to operator in almost any shooting situation. These Battery meters were purchased from a rental house in Los Angeles. Milled from Solid Aluminum- and with plexiglass display protector, they were build to be bullet proof, unlike other on-board plastic battery meters- that never survive the trenches. They measure 2.6" Width X 3" Length X .74" Thick and weigh about an ounce so they are perfect for on-board use. They have great displays and time code- to show the active metering , and several mounting options with screws included. I've used them on my Sony Venice, Ronin2 and my Sled- I 'm keeping a few and have only two available for sale . Designed to provide a high level of operational flexibility, this fluid head can be easily fitted to a wide range of supports like tripods, dollies, cranes and camera cars. The head comes equipped with a standard Mitchell flat base. Available as an option, a 150mm ball base, two balancing counterweights and a third axis to roll the camera 360° sidewise. The mounting can be inverted for low line lens positioning allowing the camera to be moved all the way to the ground and provide for accurate images which normally cannot be obtained with other traditional fluid heads. With the Lambda, there is no need to change or disassemble a variety of additional platforms or risers to suit the optical center of the camera.
