  1. This did not sell on Ebay. I am now selling it directly. $12,500.00 This is in excellent condition and comes with the HD + Film Technologies offset plate and everything shown in the pictures. The reason for selling it is that I just do not have the clients for it. I am better known for the NEBTEK Microilte HD transmitters that we sell and rent. Pictures and info still here. http://www.ebay.com/...=item4ad85b3ce7 Gaylen Nebeker NEBTEK inc. 4. I am looking for an MDR 1 RX / multiplexer only I have FIZ and Motors. Thanks!
  5. Hi Alec, Teradek support told me to lay it flat like in my LOS video. It's pretty much apples to apples in these tests because the other are pointed the same direction and they all use the exact same boards. The difference is in the settings they lock in before going for FCC approval. If Teradek wants me to try a another bolt system I will but I have tested this on 3 bolts in the exact same setting.
  6. One more time...lets see if this works. Idx cw-1 305 ft This one is not edited I just uploaded the entire clip - sorry! http://youtu.be/rIJfD_ZEvmk Gaylen Nebeker C.E.O. DIT 3D/HD Video Assist HD Wireless Service WWW.NEBTEK.com
  7. Hi Rich, How did it go with the Microlite? Gaylen Nebeker www.nebtek.com
  8. Hello all! Full disclosure!!! NEBTEK is a dealer for all of these products except the Nyrius. http://www.nebtek.com/categories/Transmitters/ I am a DIT and Video Assist operator and I have used all of these on set at one time or another. For all of these you really have to plan to keep the RX mobile so you can get it next to the TX in a hurry in case you loose the picture. This video was made after repeatedly testing my results. There are some very important things to point out here. These all have their own distinct advantages. They all transmit video and for just keeping the cables off the steadicam or dolly they all do the job. Teredek bolt has a great design in a small package with all professional connectors and does multiple receivers it is very popular, SDI BNC in and SDI BNC Looping out, Professional Lemo connectors on both TX ad RX supplied with Anton Bauer P-tap to TX cable as well as a wall wart for tx power and rx power via 2 pin LEMO. CONS: The RX seems to be work best only when it is oriented in a certain way. I have been given a new updated unit but that has not made a difference for me in range. No remote. (note) I have happy Teredek bolt customers! I hear some folks getting 300 ft on a bolt. It's just that neither my first unit, first unit with upgrade or replacement unit performed any different from what you see in these demos. Paralinx has good range, great service and they are a great team. Boots in 10 seconds. Available paired to multiple receivers. Paralinx sells with an Anton Bauer p-tap to 5V USB cable and small remote to make some adjustments. CONS: HDMI only. 5 Volt power via mini USB. IDX - CW-1 has the best range. Comes with a really great kit that includes a camera mounted battery holder with 5 V USB out to power the unit and the TX holder protects the fragile HDMI connector. Mounts to 1/4-20 or shoe mount. A separate battery holder provides usb power to the RX. CONS: Takes a full 60 seconds to connect. HDMI only. Only available paired to one RX. 5 Volt power via mini USB. No remote. Nyrius This is cheap but it will transmit full HD good for up close handheld monitor when director is following the Steadicam comes with a remote. CONS: It has the worst range and dropped the signal often. HDMI only. Only available paired to one RX. 5 Volt power via mini USB. Note: I will not ever try to use Nyrius on set again!! Bad day long story! All of these devices were including the Nyrius are built on the same circuit card. According to Dan at Paralinx and Zach at IDX their versions are built using the Amimon Pro Chip. Amimon has set up "Amimon pro" They have set aside the pro chip and it is price much higher then the consumer chip. They are doing all they can to stop their customers from building anything for video/film production and selling them without a larger markup for our industry. The Teradek bolt uses the exact same board as all of these other ones only in their own chassis. I did not include the Nyrius in my video because it really is just built on the consumer chipset. The Nyrius does transmit HD video about as far as the Teradek bolt but gets snowy a bit sooner and seem to drop more. I also did a direct line sight test. Here are my findings: Nyrius-- not tested for LOS Teradek bolt 95 ft. http://youtu.be/841on6omhq4 Paralinx 230 ft http://youtu.be/S8EjPNxfSzY Idx cw-1 305 ft This one is not edited I just uploaded the entire clip - sorry! http://youtu.be/rIJfD_ZEvmk Gaylen Nebeker C.E.O. 9. I am glad to see you pressing on with this! I actually need a few of these shorter range 0 delay TX/RX systems. Cobbled together will be fine for my purposes. I will check out Peerless too. There are a few more I am researching too. Some are smaller on the TX. I will pass on the info. 5V at 2amps or 10 Watts for the TX. This would work nicely. Can you contact me off board about this and we can kick around some possibilities? I agree that a sub $2k solution is possible with product combining but if you want the whole deal with a smaller package professional looking and built for SDI in and out you will probably end up somewhere around the switronix price point but I would hope with better range. Gnebeker at nebtek.com Just to be clear the NEBTEK Microlite Hd has 2.9 frames of delay at 23.98/24 FPS 120MS. Just under 1/2 half mile range. And at the demo last week it was going through 7 interior walls and a brick wall too.
  10. Hello All, I thought that I would take a moment to check in here and let you all know that after overcoming significant challenges with one of our suppliers we now have the Solar HD7-SC back in stock and our new digital level sensor is now available. Some of you may know that we did not start out building 1000 NIT Sunlight viewable Steadicam monitors. With all of your input we quickly built a 1000 nit monitor. Implementing needed steadicam features took longer then I would have hoped but we have been improving it ever since. Here are a few of the improvements we have made with all of your input: Digital on Screen Level for HD-SDI or composite signals with a broad range of settings to suit different tastes. 2 sets of user adjustable frame lines as well as industry standard frame markers. Function QuickSet TM: All user function buttons are quickly assignable by just holding the button for 3 seconds then selecting the desired function for that button. Input stack select. The Monitor has SDI, video and component inputs. The component input is rarely used for steadicam work but was still an option. With user input we made the input select stack user definable so if you just needed SDI and video a wanted to quickly select between them you could remove the YPbPr from the stack. User adjustable center mark. Thanks for all your help and input in developing this product. I hope I can see some of you at NAB in Las Vegas next month. NEBTEK NAB Booth: C5447 I will have some exciting new products there including the newest transmitters for steadicam and video assist.
  11. Hi Brant, I really like the idea of Charles' transmitter test. Sounds like the "Great Transmitter Shootout of 2011" can't be to far in the future. I would also love to see the Transvideo HD Transmitter. I have a question about Rental. Are you able to charge enough for the transmitter to make it worth the purchase price? Or is the cost of the transmitter just kind of amortized into the cost of your rig? I know that on commercials producers are paying $500/day for a full kit for a reliable SD transmitter like the Navtech Rover : http://www.nebtek.com/products.php?cat=98 The price goes down on longer term rentals. Of course some video assist guys that own them just use them to make the cables go away! At upwards of $15K for the purchase price My guess is that going rate would be around $750/ day at .05 of purchase price. Are you getting anything near that? I have had very mixed results renting my Camwave HD. Some places it is outstanding, some places it won't transmit 10 feet. It depends on the environment and it always does better in high reflection locations like sound metal structures then outside. I am very familiar with the Meridian having shared booth space with The Boxx at the ET show. Happy New Year! 12. Thanks Ron. It was given to me by Howard Smith. he Modified it for the Solar Hd. It's a nice and simple mount I am going to stock some in at Nebtek. Looks like a Marell mount if that helps narrow down who it is from
  13. Does anyone recognize this mount? One of you fine operators send me this as a sample butour correspondence is lost in my gmail and my on board memory is shot!
  14. Hi Robert, I am sorry your experience was as you listed here. We have many happy customers and often receive excellent feedback. As we discussed, I really appreciated you sending us your monitor and bracket. We saw that you were using a Tiffen bracket that used 10-24 mounting screws where we use 1/4-20 and we immediately drew up and ordered brass fittings custom made for your monitor so you could put our monitor in your existing bracket. It became clear later that you were asking us to design a whole new bracket! I was busy trying to upgrade our product for the needs of steadicam users. My staff was telling me that you were insistent that we ship the modified monitor to you to test along with your bracket and cable. I placed the monitor and cable on our shipping table and I was indeed upset that they choose to not send you the monitor and cable back that Friday. They made this choice because they thought you wanted it shipped back with the modified beta monitor. When I was later told of how upset you were that we did not ship you stuff right back I called you and told you that I was upset also cause wanted it shipped right back to you right away also, not shipped back after we finished your custom designed side brass fittings...does this make sense? I was upset that my staff member did not get your property back to you as you had expected and now it's throwing them under the bus? Honestly I am not sure what you said but the impression was that you were mad that we did not have your demo ready with the newly machined parts that day and that she had better wait until we had them done. Once I caught wind of the situation I said ship his stuff back to him right now!!! He was nice of enough to send us his monitor and cable to evaluate he should have got it right back! I knew that custom parts take time especially when we don't machine in house. Once the parts arrived I again asked why your demo had not been shipped to you. I was told that you had been contacted several times but had not got back to us as to whether you wanted a new cable from your Custom 7pin sled to HD/SDI connector or were going to just use the one you already had for the test. The cable you sent us for the test was also a custom cable for your custom sled and even though you asked us to just duplicate it to be sure it worked ok. You did not label which side was monitor and which side was sled. As it turned out we got it wrong. We use 8 pin at the monitor and your cable was different. We assumed...I am sorry ! I even called Robert Orf at Tiffen to clarify but he was not able to be clear because your sled was an "early version" I am a video assist operator who is currently working on a "127 hours" in southern Utah with Danny Boyle. I am up very late replying to this email with a 5 am drive to location. I have built and operated this company doing just this exact thing since 1986. Many customers are happy with the fact that I actually work in the business alongside operators. Robert, I acknowledge that you had hoped for better and faster then I was able to deliver in one of the most challenging financial years on in my memory but I could only do the best I can! I hope you enjoy your new monitor sorry you had to wait to see what I would do. I have the up most respect for the Transvideo Products. They are truly the "Cadillac' of the industry. As for NEBTEK Support and customer service, I am proud of our quality, service and support! We have come along way in a short time to improve or 1000NIT LCD monitor into a "Steadicam" monitor at our price point. I understand now from the great feedback we received at NAB what will improve the LEVEL and I am sure we can go the extra amount needed to make it do what is being asked of us. Gaylen Nebeker
