  6. I talked extensively with the students about all different brands of rigs including Tiffen, Pro, XCS and Sachtler. I own a Pro/XCS. I regularly help and instruct at the workshops with Jerry and the crew and I don't ever push gear of any brand on anyone and neither to any of the other instructors. Each person requires and prefers a different rig based on everything from money to travel to camera and shot needs. While there is talk about gear and rigs at the workshop, the best thing about it is just what Chris says, learning to operate the Steadicam from a technical and aesthetic perspective no matter what rig a person ends up in. The value of a good workshop should be based in operating and how the gear fits into that, I try to keep gear talk to a minimum at the workshop and focus on the shot and operating. Yes we talk gear and Tiffen and Pro and XCS and beyond because it is a huge part of Steadicam obviously but if there was a hard sales meeting feeling behind any of it I would have a hard time instructing there as many others might as well. I would also believe lots of students would come out of the workshop and let everyone know how they did not learn anything, but they were just getting Tiffen products shoved down there throats. And I have not seen that in the past 11 years of being involved. It's a good workshop. Early on in learning most all workshops will be of value to start ops on the right foot.
  7. Hey peeps. I am selling these few lenses. I have them up on another site for 2200 for the 3, however if someone from our steadicam community wants em, I am willing to knock a little bit off the top for you. details. These are the EF mount Zeiss ZE lenses for Canon mount cameras. Have b&w filters, caps, and box. 21mm / 2.8 35mm / 2 85mm / 1.4 Thanks for looking, PM or email with questions. Andy
  8. Bump 2750 or offer. Harness. Not hardness like I mistyped in the title. This is a harness. A vest of sorts. The usual.
  9. Hi all This is a dual mount harness I bought used last summer from Rod Crombie. It is sized for someone around 5'8", weight range, probably between 155 and 170lbs max using the extra hinge, waist i would say 34 and under or so. It has the reinforced carbon front and the socket block attached, and the rear mount arm is for regular side operating. Has the Klassen bag and all the spare bits and pump. The covers have a slight fade to them, I think new covers are 250.00 for a complete set and you can have a new leather name plate made for 45.00 from Walters shop. This opens with rachets on one side because of the dual mount. asking 2900 USD or best offer. email me for pictures or with questions thanks for looking. andy andy@uncommoncamera.com
  10. Everything has been sold. Thanks for all the inquiries and help! andy
  11. Thanks Andy no sweat, good to chat. If someone wants Andy's stage and the sled I will drop it 200. Also James has a fixed post for sale that would work, you would just have to take the top thread mount out of his post and drop the top electronics in and put the screws back in to the electronics sleeve.
  12. Hey all. Hope everyone is doing well. I am buying some lenses this fall so selling things I dont need sitting about any longer. I have the following up for sale - A sort of half-sled all Pro 1. Hard mounted at the top, pro thread mount at base. Pro 1 post - this post sucks, I have had it for awhile was using the lower half to give me a super super post, it extends, but it binds badly. Very hard to extend. I dont think it is worth much. However it is totally flyable with the sled. Pro 1 Battery Base Threaded Mount with 10 Batts - They were recelled by the previous owner when I bought them last year. Includes case for batts. I never used them really. I think they are decent. Includes 2 chargers. Pro 1 Electronics Upper and Lower and post cable. 3A Gimbal newly cleaned and refurbished. I was thinking... 500 for Battery base 500 for Pro electronics 1000 for the gimbal 200 for the post So 2200k or best offer for it. Needs a monitor bracket and top stage to be ready. If you want, I could put an XCS monitor bracket in with it for an extra 900, basically new. thanks a lot andy
  13. Ron. I just want to clear up one technicality before I completely laugh in disgust. I am guessing what happened was, you answered and he said, "I wanted to tell you to f off personally" BUT Then I am wondering if there was a pause after that... and THEN he finshed up and said... Ron, F OFF! Because I feel like if that did not happen, and he prematurely hung up before the actually F'ing off... Then I would give that a Junior High Grade C Minus. You cannot forget to complete the action. It like saying I want french fries at the drive thru, and then speeding off sans fries. F this.
  14. I also use a rower from concept2 and its does a good job of keeping me in decent shape when I stay on a good regimen.
  15. I am in baltimore and dc Also check the steadicam ops website What are you looking to team up and do?
  16. I have one on my super post Make me an offer and it's yours! It's red too! Andy
  17. The arm on that rig looks like a real arm. Whoever came up with a vest that looks like a golf shirt and has the arm look like an actual arm should be applauded in my opinion. I bet that guy flys through doorways with ease and without lubricant. The question is does that arm and this POS knock off rig carry my newest 5D rig? I am talking about this people, not that canon thing we all love so much. http://superflux.in/work/5th-dimensional-camera
  18. yo guys thanks a lot for the help exactly what i was looking for. thanks again. hope you all are well a
