Rich, That's fantastic! Congratulations man. I've had the pleasure of operating a day or two on Scrubs as your wing man (b-camera), and I had no idea that you directed an episode. That is very cool. Of course as fate would have it, I found this thread a couple of hours too late, and didn't manage to catch it tonight. I'll have to pull some strings and get a copy. :D In any case, I'm very happy for you, Rich. That's great news.

Wow, I returned late last night from a job that worked through the holidays, and this was one of the first things I read about in an email from David Grove. I didn't know Matt well, but I had met him a few times at various steadicam guild gatherings over the last couple of years. I am as shocked as everyone at such an unfortunate accident. Being an avid outdoors enthusiast, it is particularly sobering, because prior to getting booked on this gig, I had planned to spend this past New Year holiday camping in Baja. Thank you to both David Grove and Will Arnot for letting us know of this tragic accident. My thoughts and heart go out to Matt's family and friends. RIP Matt.

I'm shooting that day, so I won't make Cinegear before the get together, but count me in for the festivities after (wherever it ends up being held). I'm a definite maybe. :D Anthony

In. Schedule permitting, of course. Used to do some technical rock climbing back in high school and university years. Once climbed the Grand Teton (Exum route), when I was 15. 14,600' or so IIRC. It was pretty cool.

Geoff, if you're offering to teach, I'm down for it. Just let me know when and where. I've only got weekends for the next few weeks available. Also, when are you getting your OC-1, and what did you decide on... a Hurricane? My Huki is on order to be built in April. I need a training partner!

Hero for bringing some Subway Sammitches) Erwin Landau (H1 Passenger) Brad Grimmett (H1 Passenger) Mike Whitcomb (friend of mine w/ KTM 640 Adventure) Evan Whitcomb (Mike's H1 obsessed teenage son) Anthony Hardwick (me w/ KTM 640 Adventure) The day was beautiful, and not too hot. Ron took his truck up and down some incredibly steep trails. His handling skills were quite impressive. I am sorry I didn't go for a ride in it this time. I spent most of my time on two wheels. I really enjoyed riding Greg's 2nd 250 for a spell. That was a light, torquey, fun bike. I think Colin and I will soon be getting comparable little machines of our own for these kinds of adventures. Ron, thanks for putting this together, and for taking my friend's son with you on the trails. It really made his year! I look forward to doing it again when I get back later this Summer. Perhaps Erwin will post some pics from the day.

Ron, I got your call, thanks for the invite. As you surmised, I was out of town at the time. I'm back now, and aside from house hunting, I have some time before the next project starts. Let's het the trails some time! Anthony

And my current ride... 2005 (it's a work in progress): Let's Ride! PS - a side story... I just met Seymour Cassell this past weekend. He was riding and I was riding, and I stopped to chat with him. He was on a sweet vintage Norton. After a bit of biker chit chat, he showed me his '69 Triumph T6R that he bought new in '69. Jack Nicholson borrowed the bike once for a week. Anyway, Seymour just restored the bike to showroom condition, and I think I'm going to buy it from him. The bike is SCHWEET! Too bad he doesn't want to sell me his Norton! :lol:

Ron, I wish I could join you! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun. I will DEFINITELY be in for a future outing. At the moment I am in the London Heathrow Airport heading to Copenhagen for a few days. I won't be back until Monday. Ah well, have fun and take pics. As for my bike... it's capable of going places that scare me. BTW, has anyone seen "Dust To Glory," a documentary film about the Baja 1000 race? An A.C. friend of mine, Jaime Felz worked on it, and she appears in the credit sequence footage. It was a pretty cool movie if you're into off road bikes or trucks. Anthony
