Wow, yes, that is far better than what I had in mind! So, is there any danger to the arm itself from hitting bumps at high speed? BTW, I found the pic I was talking about:

I have a chase scene where we need to follow a snowmobile crossing a frozen lake at high speed. There is a long list of tricky shots and I wonder if using a steady might help for some. I also wonder if it might be a bad idea and the arm might get damaged. I was thinking of doing something I once saw a picture of, which is a daring steady op sitting behind a driver, with a grip rig on the snowmobile to help him have a place to put his feet in a wide stance. I am sure someone knows what picture I am talking about since it was on a steady accessory manufacturer's website where they sold one of those harnesses that allow for horizon control. So, as I said before, I am worried about asking an op to put their arm in danger since I don't know enough about arms. The lake is obviously hard as concrete, and the snow will likely get packed down quickly and any cushion it might provide would be gone. One think I thought of is making sure we have a long post which might help in a number of ways. Any thoughts, tips, clips or photos would be greatly appreciated.
