  1. HL batts are High Load specific, therefore more able to handle the power spike required to turnover film cameras, particularly when shooting high speed. I think you'll find idx designed them (originally) specifically for Tiffen.
  2. Hi Chris, If you're looking for suggestions regarding the digital level, an off-board sensor would be desirable. The Transvideo monitor has an internal level sensor and an optional external sensor module (I believe from looking at it online). This would make it more like the current digital levels we are all used to using - Marell, XCS, Pro etc. Thanks for building a great steadicam monitor, I can't wait to get one!
  3. That's sort of the point, I'm starting to realise if I want it done right, Hugo aint the guy! I'm toying around with some idea's for modifying my rig, stay tuned it could be interesting!

  4. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about the HDSDI upgrade from PRO. I recall that GPI where waiting for a new cconector form Lemo that would be SDI capable? I'm thinking about upgrading my "PRO compatible" rig to HD and I'm hoping to come up with a custom center post loom that will carry all the power as well as two sdi channels. I'm keen to keep it all in the one loom so I can adapt a super post swell. Is there a Lemo conector that will fit into a 1.5 center post, and allow two SDI channels?
  5. Yep, get it! Great product, lots of options: dual framelines; mask; style; position etc Only downside is you need to stay in the Analogue domain. I have a Redbyte downconverter which means my transmitter works aswell.
  6. I have one of these Camera Plate Awesome: light; solid - V2 (not pictured) is better.
  7. How did you think I was able to drive in LA? That whole place is on the wrong side of the road!
  8. Thanks Robin, Does that mean it's not possible to swap out the Pin Block? I'm actually a "Goofy" so in this case everything stays the same, but thanks for the tip! Cheers, Brad.
  9. I'm thinking about getting a G70. I'm wondering is it's possible to swap out the Pin Block that comes on the G 70 for one like this I prefer the safety of having the curved/scaloped contact points for the screws, particularly with the BM vest. Has anyone with a BM Vest and a G70 done this?
  10. Thanks Rob and Alex, I'll speak to Don and check out the Heden's. Cheers.
  11. C'Mon!.......... Anybody?!............ Bueller?!........... Has anyone used M-Ones with Preston?
  12. Has anybody used M-One digital motors with a Preston? Any adverse reactions for AC's (who are the real reason we've got to spend so much on a FF system). I'm really happy with M-One, and the mounting hardware, and I see now that Don offers a digital motor. With the M-One all of the gears and mounting hardware that you need is included - instead of being add on extras. Thoughts?
  13. Don't forget Dave Eubanks's PCine is now available for IPhone! PCine
  14. It looks like PROGEAR has moved his manufacturing offshore! check it out Previous threads
  15. If you decide to go down the 2.4 gig path you might try These guys Low cost diversity receivers, and you can add directional antennas. Teletest are also a better priced manufacturer of 2.4 TX/RX gear.
  16. Hey Job, great job on the clip. I've got an question about the 700, did you get the slo-mo by shooting 50/60 p at 720 and then slowing it in post? Cheers, Brad.
  17. I've experienced this with a flyer. It was caused by movement /play between the yoke and gimbal ring. The gear I was using was rental gear, the techs said it could be fixed by shimming the gap. I don't know if or how successfully it was resolved. Maybe someone from Tiffen could shed more light on the solution. Brad.
  18. That sound's like a good idea except that the Jim's BFD Bracket is made for the spacing of either the Arri or Chrosziel rails. I've got both an XCS plate and a BFD bracket and the two don't work together. I think the pre tapped holes in the PRO plate are the same positioning/spacing as the XCS plate. The best solution is Louis's
  19. Erwin, Charles, Thanks for your replies, you guys are exactly the sort of operators I was hoping to hear from. Actually I haven't had a response on the other forum, so thanks again. Cheers, Brad.
  20. Not sure about the rules and regs on this but I've posted a question over on the other forum and there's plenty of guys here it'd be great to hear from. http://www.cinematography.com/forum2004/in...showtopic=31334 Cheers, Brad.
  21. Has anyone seen or used the new Transvideo Cinemonitor HD6SBL that has the optional digital level? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not convinced that having the level sensor in the monitor - which can be both panned and tilted on the bracket, is good science. Can a level that is in the monitor be accurate? Wouldn't the accuracy of the level be critically dependent on the monitor being mounted dead square to the post? The HD6SBL would seem like a good way to keep your digital level when using HD camera's, but is it going to be worthwhile? Brad "is that level?" Smith
  22. I have experienced a vibration problem with a flyer. In my case it was coming from play that had developed between the gimbal ring and the yoke. It was a rented rig so I didn't see the fix through but I believe the fix was to shim the bolts that hold the yoke to the gimbal ring. If you are having the same problem you'll be able to tell by holding the yoke and the gimbal and pushing and pulling horizontally/side to side against the yoke. The movement is small but it really translates into the shot.
  23. This is exactly the problem I've just dealt with. When I ordered my CineIIIa SB I told my local dealer that I wanted the anti reflective film. I was assured that all transvideo monitors are antireflective. I was not happy with the reflections I was still getting on my monitor and I was reading on the forum how fantastic the CineIIIaSB is when you have the antireflective coating. So, I went back to the dealer and asked him to contact Transvideo to clarify. Turns out all Transvideo monitors have an "anti reflective crystal screen" (which is not that antireflective, see attached pic). What you can request is a monitor that has an "anti glare film" applied to the screen. My dealer was completely unaware of this option. It has cost me to buy a new front panel with the film applied, which my dealer then fitted for free (how generous!) The film must be bonded to the front panel by the factory, but I suspect that if you order the monitor from the factory with the anti glare film, it will not add much to the cost of the monitor. I'm yet to try out my monitor since the new panel has been fitted, but you can see the difference from the pics
