Yes it is, but the only difference is the post on the arm is different. (The merlin post is bent in about 45 degree angle) (merlin )

i think this is a little big to fit into the post, but has anyone used coiled HDMI cables before? http://www.black-box.eu/en-int/fi/1298/12493/Coiled-HDMI-Cable/All Would be worth a look (if its worth it to have hdmi for yourself)

Depending on what you're looking to do, a cheap and easy thing is ebay search up whdi. you can get a transmitter the size of a usb stick that'll transmit hdmi for a short distance -
I think the tango was designed for this guy

Might as well throw mine in too! Just student stuff, but hey.. https://vimeo.com/40694045

If you pledge 295 or more on kickstarter, "You'll get a signed, limited edition Shaft ... and an official "I Got the Shaft" t-shirt." Because of that, I have defintiely decided to

The (sad?) best part, is that is just had to of choreographed that in his living room. (but it would be no where without his coach ... )

Just FYI, the arm should be comfortable at 15lbs... and saggs somewhere in there above that weight..

'Tis true--I'm no longer a Steadicam operator.

I'll take it on the condition you donate it to a poor student *ahem* But actually.... congrats! -
Plus, it's really useful as a newbie/student to read through the pros conversations, even if we don't have one ounce of input on the subject... it's a useful way of learning, and no reason hide it from others who want to learn or ask questions. Also, what if there is a secret forum that is unheard of and no body is allowed to talk about???!? Oops i said too much

as long as your hardmount to your seatbelt, why would there be a problem?!!?!
-
I really doubt that.

Come one, think of how much respect you have for the guy.... now think of how much respect you have for the flycam... it's gotta be a bit more!!!!
-
^ Definitely agree. I think the Flycam deserves (just a teeny) bit more respect than he is giving it!

I dont think this was ever posted here, but its things like this that make youtube a golden place ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCWvfS5Lnzo&feature=related

You might have a good chance directly messaging some people on youtube who posted videos, as you know they've worked with it. Probably not a big chance a lot of people on this board have dealt with that issue.

Thanks ^ Just thought I'd post a second film I did some steadicam work on in super16 a few weeks after the one i posted above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27T15CXqlPw again this was on arriflex srII, and the Flyer LE. These were both fun experiences. I learned a lot from them. I am looking to fly either Red or the Alexa in the next few months. I'm looking for a place to rent a rig!
-
Anyone know of a place near toronto/canada that rents rigs that hold 20-30lbs? I'm looking to fly the Red One. My gear can only hold up to about 18lbs. Thanks and very appreciated. mb@markbaluk.com 416-797-7308

WTB Merlin Arm + Vest (no merlin)
Mark Baluk replied to Mark Baluk's topic in Steadicam Marketplace - Wanted
WEll, nevermind. Ended up buying it through Vistek. Oh well! -
Hi Guys, I'm in toronto, but willing to buy from around the continent (maybe world?) I'd like to get a good deal on a new or used merlin arm + vest. Just for using it with my own modded glidecam sled for now before I upgrade (renting rigs for my real shoots right now as it is, anyways.) Thanks! you can also call/text 416-797-7308

Hey Guys, So I just recently finished my year end project. This was my first attempt at flying a camera bigger than a z1u or hvx (used hvx, z1u, t2i, 7d, 5d, canon handycams etc on my glidecam in the past) There are issues I understand that fully. And Personally I am not 100% happy with how the project turned out. But you live and learn! It was a fantastic learning experience. Shot on super16mm/arri SRII rig: stock stedicam flyer w/ AB http://vimeo.com/24510247 Hope I can get some constructive criticism! I was dp on this shoot. (only 3 days/3 crew members! so it was a toughie for us)
