  1. Hi, I found that the belt in one of the motors was a bit loose, and making loud noises when I tilted. When I tried to tighten the belt I noticed that two screws were loose and the belt was forcing the piece apart as I was tightening it. Don't know how they got loose, or if the thread is actually broken or something. Now is causing some friction with the gimbal handle, even with the belt loose. I've spoken with Betz and I'm planing on sending the Volt to them to fix this and other issues I have with the Volt (that deserve a different post, cause some I haven't read anything similar here) when the work is quiet, but for the moment it would be nice if anyone knows and can explain how to access those screws to try to fix them for the moment. Thanks very much for any help.
  2. Selling my 2 x KS6 Gyro kit. I bought one second hand from another operator and bought the other one and brackets new from Betz tools. They also modified the first gyro to have the thin Lemo connectors for their inverter. They have some marks of use, and one Gyro has a dent that already had when I bought it second hand, but doesn't affect the performance at all. Everything is in perfect working condition. I just don't use them, and have only used them a handful of times. I'm asking for 3.500€ OBO. email me for offers or questions at guillermo@steadiframes.com. They are located in Mallorca, Spain, buyer pays shipping. I will include the floor battery in the price if we can arrange the shipping, if it is air mail I might not be able to ship it though, so I haven't considered the battery in the price and will not discount it in that case. I will include it for free because I have no use for it anyway. Kit includes, 2 x KS6 gyros, inverter, cables, brackets, one sound Cosy bag and a 1510 Pelicase.
  3. Hi, I'm selling my Cmotion compact LCS package. I bought it new in 2013. It served me well for a few years until it was common practice in the productions I work in to always include a remote focus system with the camera package or the focus pullers had their own. I've kept it as a back up the last 3 or 4 years, but have never use it. I think is a great system to start with, to have a spare hand unit for zoom or Iris control and easy to upgrade later. The motors will work with the ARRI WCU-4 system as well as with Cmotion Cvolution. It has marks of use, but is in great working condition. I've made a couple of services during the years to the motors. Check the photos to get an idea of everything included in the package. You can ask any question or for more specific photos anytime. I've spent more than 10k in the package, I'm asking for 5.000€ OBO. System located in Mallorca, Spain. Buyer pays shipping. Contact me at guillermo@steadiframes.com rather than through the forum. Thank you! The package includes: - Compact hand unit ready for 3 motor control (Knob, rocker switch and sensitive joystick) - Compact camin for up to 3 motor control in daisy chain system. - 2 x Cforce (now ARRI as well) motors - Power cables: Dtap, RS and Lemo connectors - Start/stop cables for ARRI and RED - Power cables for motors, various lenghts. - 7 Focus rings (some with marks from use, check photos) - Various sizes motor gears. - Motor brackets and extensions - 3x batteries - Neck strap - Pelicase and bags for accessories.
  4. I’ve used the rain cover for the bottom section of the arm, and it worked pretty well. Because it’s open all along one side with velcro it was easy to wrap around the Volt
  5. Tedarek 600 Kit. Works great, solid signal. All in good condition. 6. Betz Wave for sale. In very good condition and works great, but I haven't used it in over a year, so is a waste of a great tool that could make someone else happy. Serviced by Betz in September and haven't used it since either, hope it finds a more loving home for new year. - Wave - Betz to Wave power cable - Dtap to Wave power cable - Betz dovetail plate - Original box Price is 5400€ OBO email me for more photos or info at guillermo@steadiframes.com Located in Spain. Will do international shipping. Buyer pays shipping.
  7. Any new comments after the summer period? How good is the anti-reflective screen protector? Maybe better use the anti glare screen? Any operators using it as their main monitor on the rig yet? Im still using the Cinetronic Gen2 and Im hoping for a monitor as reliable in visibility but with better image and color quality as well as better software and functions. Is this the right monitor?

  9. Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 recorder and some accessories. I haven't used it more than 4 times since I bought it new, and now I have a TSV Starlite that I use if I want to record, so definitely I've put to much time and money in this recorder. Hopefully I can. Get some back and find it a better home. Extras included in the package price: 120Gb SSD Sandisk card and cable adaptor/ reader to USB D-tap power cable regulator with additional Dtap conector Din SDI cables x 2 HDMI cable Power Cable Customized aluminum back plate with 1/4 threads. Is almost as light as the original plate and definitely lighter and thiner than the Blackmagic cheese plate. I will include the original plate with foam, although it has a hole that I drill to attach a screw before I had the other plate, and also includes 3 battery studs for Goldmount batteries that I've never used since I have Vmount, so not sure how good they work. Happing to get 350. Buyer pays shipping. Located in Mallorca, Spain. Contact for offers, more info and photos: guillesteady@gmail.com
  10. Hi all, I'm selling my Steadicam Exovest. I bought it new less than 3 years ago and it hasn't been used a lot, so it's kept almost like new. The last 4 months I haven't used it at all, which is a shame and the reason I'm selling. It does have some small scratches from use, but nothing I find significant. Other than that I don't see any other cosmetic imperfection. The padding and velcros are in great condition. I bought it new for 5.500, I know now has dropped the price, so I'm trying to get 4200. I can ship internationally but buyer pays shipping. The vest is based in Mallorca, Spain. Please contact me via email at guillesteady@gmail.com for offers, more photos or information. Best reagards Guillermo
  11. Hi, I'm looking to buy a Mag-dock 2. As I'll be in US for 3 weeks in May I can give you a shipping address there. Thanks for any help Guillermo
  12. Betz-tools have a post mount, is for their post size and gyro bracket but maybe they or you can adapt it? It's worth to ask. Cheers
  13. I've never been very persistent in any sport (other that drinking beer like most of us) but I've tried many sports, and from the ones I still practice once in a while, I would have to choose (in regards of how my operating may benefit) rock climbing. Specially when I'm training in an indoor climbing wall where you have more options to choose your moves and your tempo. You learn to control your balance when you are static and while moving. I like to climb slowly, always making sure that your body is in balance and that you are not going to swing or fall when you loose the grip on one hand or your foot. I can compare it with walking very slow with the Steadicam or stoping to a lock off after a fast move, where you need to have your body in balance and a good strength and resistance in your muscles, trying to keep always a good posture that will help you on that. I can also see resemblance when you have to rest some of your muscles while still on the wall, or carrying the rig, and you change your posture or your balance to rest those muscles just for a moment, take a deep breath and keep going. Anyway, still not very good at neither climbing or operating so, back to the beer drinking, I would have to recommend some of my favorite spanish beers, Alhambra, made in the south, in Granada, Moritz, made in Barcelona, and Estrella Galicia. San Miguel seems to be the most popular outside our borders, but I'm not very keen. Cheers!
  14. Looking for a gear head to practice I came across the Hurricane wheels, I contacted Matthias and ended up buying them with the software simulator. You can now also use them to operate Movi and Ronin gimbals, but I only bought them with the computer simulator. The software it's quite basic, but it does the trick, and it's very handy and easy to take with you anywhere if you wanted. I used them a lot in my hotel room when I was away for a film last year. The wheels are well built, I'm more used to remote heads than actual gear heads, and in comparison the Hurricane wheels will give a real enough feel of operating, so for practicing and getting the feel for the "wheels" I think is more than enough and definitely a cheaper option. You do have to figure out a way of fixing the wheels, I end up using a cheese plate and two ball heads.Hope this helps in case your friend wants to have something to keep around and not spend the money in a gear head. Cheers
  15. I do my best to keep the equipment in good condition, but then again, as we all learnt...
  16. I have a job with a Sony F5 in two weeks. I have a Decimator 2 but I've never been able to get HDMI signal in my monitor, neither from 5d/7d DSLR cameras, Hyperdeck Shutle 2 or Pix 240 recorder. So I'm not very optimistic with the F5 and Decimator 2. When I wrote Chris about it just over a year ago he wrote back: "The hdmi can be a bit tricky, since sometimes the output uses copy protection, or a resolution which isnt in the resolution list." Do you guys get signal with HDMI with any of these cameras/recorders? I've never tried with the decimator 2, but is there any setting I have to change in the decimator for the HDMI output to work with gen2? Is the first time I work with a Sony, and is just one day, so I don't want to spend any money in making it work, if it's not working, I will either use the Hyperdeck Shuttle to convert from HDMI to SDI or the Small HD I have as a back up, but I'd prefer to work with the Cinetronic. Thank you for any input in advance
  17. Hi everyone, I am selling my Steadicam Phantom (now called Shadow) package. It is in very good condition. The package was a demo that I bought from Tiffen US in 2011, but I replaced the sled for a new one in late 2012. The sled uses the Ultra2 stage and Gimbal. The arm has been serviced and upgraded to X in December 2013. It has small superfitial marks. The Vest was serviced and had new padding in December 2011. It has some marks of use in some of the plastic pieces, but it doesn't affect the functionality at all. You can find more technical information about the package in tiffen's website: http://www.steadicam.com/steadicam_shadow.html THE FULL PACKAGE AND ACCESSORIES FOR SALE ARE: - Phantom (Shadow sled) with: Steadicam SD Monitor 700 Nits Long Dovetail F-Bracket for Low mode Thermodine Steadicam Travel Case customized. (I modified the case to fit a Jerry Hil balancing and docking bracket in the center, as you can see in the photo, unfortunatelly, I can't sell the docking bracket with it) Jerry Hill docking brackets x 2 (that I just include in the package for free because I don't need them anyway, in case it might be of some use for the buyer) - G70 arm 5-32kg/ 12-70 pounds upgraded to "X series" with: Steadicam Soft carrying bag bought in January this year 6" arm post Rain cover for the arm T wrench allen key for socket block - Ultra 2 vest with Soft carrying bag (that I forgot to take for the photos, but is a Steadicam soft bag made for the Ultra2 vest) I include the safety release strap, but I took it off because I didn't need it. - Cables: - Lemo to Arri 24v x 2 - Lemo to XLR 12v - Monitor 8pin Lemo - Hirose 4 pin a XLR 12v - Hirose to 12v (Decimator) (not in the photos) - Hirose to 2 pin Lemo for Teradek Bolt (not in the photos) TOTAL PRICE: 24.000€ ($32.000 depending of currency exchange) or Best Offer The package is located in Mallorca, Spain. Buyer will pay for shipping and Taxes (21% in Spain) if they apply. EXTRA ACCESSORIES THAT I COULD INCLUDE IN THE PACKAGE IF YOU MAKE AN OFFER: -Cinetronic monitor bracket with post adapters for 1.58" and 1.5" -Extra Steadicam Thermodine Travel Case (same size as the sled case) for Vest and Arm PS: The package costed me 32.000€/ 42.000$ without some of the AKS and cables only 3 years ago. I'm selling it because two months ago I got a loan for entrepreneurs that I had to spend on equipment. There was nothing else that I really needed so I bought a new arm and sled hoping to sell my package afterwards and get some money back. I threw the vest in because I thought it would be better to sell as a complete package, I would take offers for separate things, but I'd like to sell it as a package first of course. I'll see how many photos I can upload but you can see them all here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pi7jbu8jhgrnsy0/AADS2lGdJcXoHWD--yMDTrkja
  18. Hi, the Aircraft pin is the same size that the G70 arm uses, I tried it today. So maybe Tiffen sells spares if you ask them? Cheers, Guillermo
  19. I'd go for Cinetronic... but I haven't tried the new Transvideo. I've seen the small HD, is very good as well. I'd really like to see the new Gen2+ screen, though, sounds very promising!
  20. Hi Sanjay, funny enough someone just posted a commercial were I did the casting to be in it, although at the end a friend did it: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=20248 I was the grip in it at the end. better to be behind the camera as usal, but the rate for acting was very similar to the rate as an operator, for just a couple of hours work, and I don't remember exactly how it worked, but depending of the countries were they showed the TVC you would get paid more afterwards (don't know exactly how that works either...), so it wasn't a bad deal at all, other than having to stand all your colleague's jokes every time we had to repeat the take for "bad acting" while enjoying a bite of the product... Of course, the operator knew what he was doing and what he was hired for before hand, your case is a bit different... but it's good for laughs...
