Im updating my focus system. Wondering what we think about some of the Preston alternates. My choices are: Preston DM1X, Fastest but big and heavy... DM2 -vs- DM4. Heden, M26VE, M21VE or the new M21VE-L. And of course M-One's line. Educated opinions would be helpful. Thanks guys. Jeff

There is plenty brands and kinds of Wireless Focus systems but to me they all pretty much do the same. Whether you can buy a BFD for about $2,000 USD or you a cmotion for €10,000 but ¿does it really make a difference? ¿is it worth your money? there's where the other question comes in... ¿what do you want in a WFF?

Greetings all and some sad news. Some of you may know UK operator John Ward, if not look him up on IMDB - Full Metal Jacket, Prince of Thieves, Highlander etc. I have known John since around 1986 although he was operating before this with the first Steadicam Model 1 that entered the UK. Some of you may already be aware that John has been seriously ill for some time and things are unlikely to get better for him. In light of this he has asked me to see if anyone is interested in helping him clear his cellar where he has: 1 x Spintec 105mm spinning disc Rain Deflector. These are great devices, I used to sell them when I was at OpTex and they really work. Fits on matte box rails and needs 12 volts, not too much gyroscopic effect unlike the big 300 and 400mm versions. Was £2,500.00 (from memory) looking for £800.00 ono. 1 x Mk-V radio focus. Three channel with three motors (the blue ones) handset and receiver. This was one of only a few made but I believe that Marell Electronics would still be able to maintain it. Not bought from me but originally cost in the order £8,000.00 and would make a newbie operator a nice kit for around £2,500.00 complete. Preston Single Channel System The V+F Lens Control is G4 and was purchased in 2012. It is essentially brand new and in perfect working condition. Included items: 15mm Mounting Bracket & On/off/Power Combo Cable (3-pin fischer: Arri 24V, Sony F65 ) Focus/Iris Handset is very clean and has been part of my main FIZ package since 2008. It has had very little use since I purchased it primarily only for Iris pulls when needed. It is upgraded to G4 and is in perfect working condition. Handset comes with 8 marking rings & 1 battery. DM-2 Motor with Hill Bracket. It was purchased in 2008 and has normal wear and tear. Pulls strong but not silent.
