  1. What do you use for your low-mode monitor? I'm flying a GPI kit and have been balancing with the Small HD 702 as my low-mode monitor in order for quick high/low transitions. I love having it there because it really does make things faster. But the 702 is abysmal in direct sunlight, and is too clunky to be practical. And also powering the dang thing via d-tap is an issue. I'm looking into the BlackMagic 5in Video Assist as a budget option, and a Transvideo Starlite 5in as a more permanent solution. A monitor that supports on board video recording is not strictly necessary, but I'm definitely leaning towards a monitor that supports that feature. The BlackMagic 5in seems alright but you have to do some surgery in order to power it properly from your sled. Any thoughts or tips on the matter would be much appreciated! Cheers, -Dan
  2. Selling a SmallHD DP7 PRO High Bright 7" Monitor. (1500nits) In excellent condition, all functions work perfectly. Always had clear cover installed over display so the LCD is like new. Comes with rear battery mounting plate, AC adaptor and original box. $1250 or best offer. Located in Los Angeles but can ship if needed.
  3. Steadicam Pilot upgraded to HD The wiring has been upgraded with a strand of Belden 179DT to be shielded enough to carry HD signal. The video line terminates at the base of the post and top stage using DIN connectors instead of RCA. The topstage power connector has been replaced with a Lemo 0B 3 pin connector for a more secure connection to match larger rigs like the Flyer. The monitor has been replaced with a SmallHD Focus monitor (brand new with film over screen... the project I planned for it fell through and I already have another rig). The monitor is paired with a Small HD D-Tap dummy battery for power off of the V-mount battery plate. A short RG179 cable is also included for a clean connection from the DIN connector to the BNC on the monitor. This is set up with a V-Mount plate right now, but if you prefer a gold mount plate I can swap it before shipping or include it for later. See pictures below. C-Stand not included. Asking $1350 + shipping
  4. Selling a Glidcam X45 sled with Camjam Quattro monitor bracket with SmallHD 702 monitor. Comes with extra dovetail plate and extra cords and accessories. In great condition, just upgrading. Solid, yet simple rig that will hold heavy payloads easily. Flown well with me. You'll see there is a small chip in the gimbal handle's socket. Doesn't effect the operation, and it will ship with 2 extra sockets to replace it. I never got around changing it as it works fine for me, but you have the option to get that replaced as I'm sending it with 2 replacement parts. Also, the monitor has a 1 stuck green pixel, as you can see from the pic. Not that big of a deal for me, as well. Still got the job done. Sled Brand new $5995, CamJam Quattro Monitor bracket new $1430, SmallHD 702 $800 GRAND TOTAL $8225 SALE PRICE $5500.00
  5. I have a number of items I am no longer using so here is a list of a few of the things I have for sale: Steadicam Pilot upgraded to HD I have replaced the wiring harness and upgraded the video line with a strand of Belden 179DT to be able to carry an HD SDI signal. The video line terminates at the base of the post and top stage using DIN connectors (I couldn't fit BNC connectors in the base of the post). The topstage power connector has been replaced with a Lemo 0B 3 pin connector for a more secure connection to match larger rigs like the Flyer. The monitor has been replaced with a SmallHD Focus monitor (brand new with film over screen) which is paired with a Small HD D-Tap dummy battery for power off of the V-mount battery plate. A short RG179 cable is also included for a clean connection from the DIN connector to the BNC on the monitor. See pictures below. C-Stand not included. Asking $1350 + shipping Digital BarTech kit with Heden M21VE-L motor. 6. FOR SALE Cam-Jam Quattro Universal Monitor Arm with integrated yoke I am selling my Cam-Jam Quattro Universal Monitor Arm with integrated yoke. It is less one year old and looks brand new. It was on my rig that I just sold and my new rig already had one on it so I don’t need this. The Cam-Jam Quattro Universal Monitor Arm is without a doubt the best monitor arm I have ever used. It is rock solid, light-weight and completely vibration free thanks to it’s four point mounting system. It allows you to infinitely adjust your monitor position and instantly go from high to low mode positions all with no change in balance. You can use the arm with almost any monitor from Small HD, Transvideo, Boland, Odyssey, Ikan, Cinetronics, Nebtek or Marshall with the addition of a monitor mount from Cam-Jam (not included here - cost is $50-$100 depending on model). I also have (for an additional $50) an Universal Adapter for backup monitors that allows all monitors with a 1/4”-20 threaded hole on the bottom to be mounted to the Quattro Monitor Arm, not using the yoke. With it’s 2” diameter clamping ring, you can mount the Quattro Arm on most any stage of any Steadicam rig as custom adapter rings are available for any post diameter (I am including one 1.5” and one 1.9” adapter rings). For more info see the Cam-Jam website at: https://shop.cam-jam.de/product/quattro2-monitor-arm-with-yoke/ The price new is 1,230.00 € (about $1,450 US) with the two adapter rings. I am asking $1,100.00 If you are interested PLEASE EMAIL ME DIRECTLY do not post questions here, I don’t check it often enough. Direct emails will get very quick responses. Thanks, Stephen Consentino Email: film.maker@me.com Cell: 914-837-0120
  7. FOR SALE: Brand new SmallHD 1303 HDR Production Monitor and accessories. Purchased in November from the DVShop in Toronto. Tested once and put back into original packaging. Panel has less than 2 hours on it. I was going to use this monitor as a focus monitor, but decided to stick to the 703 instead due to being in such tight sets. The monitor comes with a Gold Mount Power Kit/Cheese Plate, as well as a Sun Shade and one Rapid Rail Mount for mounting a wireless receiver. The gold mount plate features small risers that raises the plate up by approximately 1/2", to allow a standard Vesa mount to attach underneath it. SmallHD designed the cheeseplate/gold mount adapter to conflict with standard Vesa mounts, forcing you to use the SmallHD C-Stand/Table mount, which I do not like because it does not tilt. This modification from VFGadgets allows you to use any tilting Vesa mount of your choice. Brand new, this monitor goes for $3,499 USD. Accessories valued at $450 USD. I am asking $3,000 USD for the package. Buyer pays shipping. Pictures can be sent upon request, but would prefer not to take the monitor out of the packaging.

  20. hey yall i have a smallHD DP7 OLED that went in for repairs a few months (apparently the main board fried out of nowhere) and after paying for that expense it has sat on the shelf for a bit but has seen some use. I used it last week and for the second or third time the Anton Bauer battery attached to the monitor's plate shorted while in use. The battery's display went blank and the monitor shut down. The battery was powering a teradek receiver via ptap and the smallHD via the plate and the included cables. Do yall know what could be causing this? It has for sure happened with different batteries. Id like to send it in to smallHD but it is pretty well in use for the next few weeks. While I dig the monitor and its features, i probably will not purchase another. anyways, any insight would be helpful. have a good one brett.
  21. hey yall i just spent 10 days in jamaica shooting with my smallHD DP7 OLED. It worked flawlessly as a field monitor, on camera, rigged up, SDI, HDMI, etc. Not one issue at all. I arrived back stateside and suddenly the monitor wont turn on. I traveled with it in my camera backpack, carry-on, so it was always with me. I am not particularly precious with my gear, but I dont mishandle it. I have attached AB batteries (as I usually power it) as well as AC power. There is no indication at all that it is receiving power. No fans, no screen, nothing. There is no damage to the body. From jamaica i was home, then had to head to austin texas but didnt need the smallHD, so it stayed in the camera bag in my basement. it was pretty cold while i was away, so the basement got cold, but i would bet not below 50. Has anyone experienced this? I am going to talk with smallHD today, but just wonderin if any of yall have had similar experiences. brett.
  22. Looking for a daylight viewable HD Monitor. If you have a mount, looking for options that would work with a XCS monitor mount. 1st preference would be a Transvideo. Thanks- Matt Lingerfelt Atlanta, GA
  23. hey yall i recently picked up a SmallHD DP7 Pro OLED. It came with a 4-pin lemo - hirose power cable, which i wasnt planning on using, but then I realized that the 4-pin lemo fits into my CineLive Tally connector. The tally output on the sled (upper junction) is 12v. Is there any reason that this wouldnt work for my monitor? I am pretty ignorant about power, so I am hesitant to plug it in, as I just dont wanna fry this new monitor. If anyone has some experience with this, id love to know! brett.
  24. Last week on a rather demanding job, my trusty old transvideo sd monitor failed, the whole screen turned white, several reboots of the camera, decimator and the monitor didn't help. I resorted to use my backup monitor (panasonic sd). So now I'm looking to make the investment towards a decent, bright HD-monitor. Therefor I've come here to ask some real world experiences towards a selection of monitors. Pricewise I won't be able to afford a transvideo XBL or an XCS TB7, otherwise this whole post would be irrelevant. as it stands now, this is the selection I had in mind. Cinetronic Gen1 $1530 SmallHD $2999 refurbished Transvideo 6" SBL Classic $2926 The Cinetronic seems to good to be true, especially at that price point, the Transvideo is a refurbished model so it might be less futureproof and the SmallHD seems like the best all-arounder. I have read numerous amounts of forum posts concerning every monitor I'm considering, and I'm still torn. I've used the Transvideo in the past and I absolutely know it's a very decent monitor, but on paper, both the SmallHD and the Cinetronic seem to beat it. Help! Sincerely Nils
  25. Dear operators, good news! We made two new adapter kits for the 6" artemis ACT2 monitor bracket, which allows you to use the 7" SmallHD and the Cinetronic Gen.2 monitors with all versions of 6" artemis monitor brackets. So from now on, with just one monitor bracket you can use 3 different monitors. You can use any 6" Transvideo CineHD monitor with the 6" artemis ACT2 monitor bracket and by adding the right adapter kit, you can use also the 7" SmallHD or the Cinetronic Gen.2 monitor. Just have a quick look at the artemis web page to get more information. www.artemis-hd.com
