dear friends, I've a Pilot to sell, it's in good conditions, I used it on 4 theater stages... It comes with the original bag and with a very robust flycase tailored on the steadicam and accessories... The basic concept of case is that it is really sturdy, solid and handy, it is designed to leave your camera attached on the quick release plate, it has 2 wheels on a side and handles on 3 sides so you can also move the case as trolley. I can Mount for you a Manfrotto or Cartoni quick release plate. Now a Cartoni is mounted. The steady is located in Verona (North Italy - Europe) I can send it everywhere... and if you come here good Italian food and wine (Amarone) are provided of course... price is 2.500 Euro shipping excluded... :-) Here are the photos

Has anyone operated with or own a GH4? I am considering purchasing Pilot SD system. I am unsure how to connect GH4 to monitor? I know, all the typical dslr headaches, lol. I am brand new to this forum but am serious about operating. Should I buy SD rig and use an HD monitor? Then buy an hdmi - sdi converter box? Can you connect sdi in (BNC) to composite? Also, the GH4 camera has NTSC, PAL, and a 24 Hz "Cinema" frequency, through which is the only frequency capable of Cinematic 4K. According to the gh4 manual, when system frequency is set to 24 Hz (which mine is all the time) playback on a composite monitor is impossible? I would love to be informed about how to properly connect a DSLR to a SD monitor or HD monitor

Hi, I'd like to hear people's thoughts and experiences working with a Master (Broadcast) sled, and if you guys think it's 'still got it' compared to modern sleds? I'm still looking at upgrade options and have been considering a used Archer2 with G50x arm, but a Master with upgraded G70 is available for a similar price (both with LX vests). The sled has been upgraded with HD-SDI already so should be ready to fly modern cameras. I'm just a little concerned about the apparent lack of flexibility of the monitor and battery mounts and the short post? The G70 arm would allow me to upgrade to a modern 'big rig' sled in the future but just concerned that the old sled design may have some compromises compared to a modern one while I'm working with it? I've not yet had a look and test of either of them but doing some background research at the moment ;) Cheers guys will get there in the end! rups

hey yall i am about to fly out for a gig and use a few bits of another operator's gear. i have a pro atlas arm and will be using a low mode J bracket by Tiffen that is typically used on the other op's Ultra 2. as i understand the diameter for the atlas arm is about .625". does anyone know the diameter of the current tiffen posts for low mode brackets? on their website it says .625" but i know that they have a few different sizes, so i want to be sure i am looking out for the correct size. I am scrambling to get my gear and myself outta the house since this gig just popped up an hour ago and i have to be at the airport in an hour so i havent done any math on the post diameters, etc. thanks yall brett,

Hey Everyone, I'm looking to Sell or Trade my Tiffen Ultra 2 vest. It's seen a good bit of use. It works Perfectly but cosmetically is a little rough. I do love this FM vest, but I'm selling it because I recently purchased a Walter Klassen Flex vest, and it suits my needs better. One issue would be a small piece of the velcro on the left shoulder strap under the shoulder latch that holds the padding on has become frayed over time, it doesn't effect the function of the padding at all however as it's only a small portion of the velcro, and would be a super easy fix. I never bothered as it didn't effect the padding and wasn't enough to cause it to move. I've never had any issues with the socket block, works perfectly. The vest is super comfortable, and can be modified to fit many body sizes. I'm looking to either sell the vest or would like to trade for, or put towards the sale of an HD monitor suitable for steadicam. Maybe you have a backup monitor you're looking to get rid of, or are making the jump to a newer model and are looking to part with an older model. Let me know if this interests you. I'm also willing to work into the deal a TIffen Black Hard Shell case w/ wheels that I used for the vest and arm. The case is in excellent shape and has a dense foam liner inside, with 4 solid case fasteners and lock holes on the outside. Excellent for travel. The exterior moulded shell says Steadicam as part of the casings mold. I also have an extra strap buckle and receiver for the vest that I'll throw in. Currently the vest is in my gear lockup, I'll be there on Tuesday and can take some photos if there's interest. PM if interested!! Thanks for looking. - Ian

Hello everyone. Looking to sell my Steadicam Zephyr. I've had it for just about a year now and it has served me very well. I finished upgrading my gear about two months ago so I'm ready to say goodbye to this one... 12v/HD Sled Zephyr Arm (w/ bag) Compact Zephyr Vest HD Monitor (w/ plexiglass shield) Docking bracket Batteries (2x Gold Mount Switronix) Dual Charger Sled Power Cables BNC Cable F-Bracket (for low-mode) Low-Mode Bracket Merlin weights (for additional weight when working with lighter cameras) Original DVD and Manual Zephyr Sled to XLR 4-pin cable Carrying case for the whole deal (and it has wheels for your back!) Everything is in damn good condition. Very few and very minor scratches, purely cosmetic. Had the gimbal serviced about 9 months ago by Tiffen; works perfectly. The Switronix batteries surprised me with how long they last. I'm looking to get $7,500.00 (+shipping) OBO. I'm located in Winston-Salem, NC and am willing to work out a hand-off for East-Coast residence if you want to save a little cash on shipping. Please feel free to PM me or email me (aaron.gantt@gmail.com) if you have any further questions.

The original Merlin cookbook website is down but I'm not sure if it will help anyway. I can't get my t3i with Canon 18-55mm kit lens to balance. I've read the manual, watched numerous how to's, and i'm still having trouble. Does anyone have the specs for this combo (seems pretty standard)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Selling my Tiffen Ultra Steadicam with lots of bits and pieces. This rig has served me very well since 2001 and according to Dan Ikeda at Tiffen, it is probably the most updated of the generation 1 Ultras. The battery system has been upgraded to the idx v-mount style and everything works well. Full disclosure, this rig was dropped while in low mode last summer and some damage was sustained. The camera and lens took the majority of the impact but the nose of the top stage was bent slightly downwards. the base of the rig hit the ends of the carbon rods and they seem fine. As it was part of an insurance claim, I had the rig sent to Tiffen for a full disassembly and inspection. They looked over everything, saw only what I saw (the bent nose) and sent it back to me. I powered it up, everything works fine except for the side to side motors in the top stage. They are stuck but I think I can fix it. I have the original Green screen monitor for it as well but haven't used it in years since getting my Transvideo monitor. The CRT was banged up a few years ago, the screen has a crack in it and the magnets on the tube need realigning a circle on the monitor appears slightly ovoid. I have always taken very good care of this rig and I think its cosmetic and mechanical state speak to that, but it was used. A lot. I am happy to discuss at length any questions about the rig, I know there might be trepidation about this but having spent a long time with it since getting it back fro Tiffen, I think it could serve someone very well. If you are in the market for a very affordable rig that can support and power the biggest cinema cameras and lenses, this could be it. For piece of mind, I could ship the rig to Tiffen for another inspection if the buyer was interested. Elsewhere on this forum I am selling an excellent, very clean Tiffen Ultra Arm with 4 posts and a new socket. Could be a match made in heaven (or Burbank) Included with the sled are: lots of spare parts, CRT monitor with 2 cables yoke for Transvideo 6" monitor yoke for any monitor with a 1/4-20 screw mount. 3 camera plates, 2 long, 1 short Antler dovetail mount ( I used this for mounting a Codex Raw Recorder to the bottom of the sled) IDx and Tiffen 24volt battery mounts. 6 Tiffen 24volt batteries (recelled by Emory Soos at Lentequip) with 2 PAG chargers in a hard case. All offers considered. Happy to ship internationally at buyers cost. Gerard Sava gfsava@gmail.com
