  1. Considered splitting this up but it's too good a zephyr package to break up - so the right buyer lucks out. If you're thinking of buying a zephyr these are THE accessories you will end up putting on to maximize this rig. Get them at this super cheap discount now. Ready to fly with essentials like the pro grip, custom yoke that is 1000% better than the stock one for low mode and finding the right angle out of the sun. The 2nd battery plate and weights are critical, especially for cameras like Red, Alexa Mini, or Sony F55/5 - dynamic balance better, hot swap batteries, and get more weight low on the sled. 100% ready to go, no problems whatsoever, professionally maintianed. $6500 Zephyr Package Includes Standard Zephyr Sled Zephyr Vest Zephyr Arm Steadicam Original 7" Monitor (Like New) Standard Dock Steadicam Original Rolling Case --Ad-Ons Included in this package, totaling $1400.-- Extra Balancing Weights ($150) Skymagic Custom Monitor Yoke for zephyr ($150) Skymagic Pro Grip ($150) 2nd Battery Plate $650) American 20" C-stand w/ removable base ($150) Misc cables ($150) Spare parts ($75) $350 - Customized Pelican Flight Case // Sold Separately $350 - Customized Pelican Flight Case - Entire kit breaks down, with stand, into this one case and weighs under 70lbs. This means no oversize luggage, only pay overweight to 70lbs when flying. This is critical if you are traveling and shooting often as this saves serious shipping costs. ***You will have to carry only the pads for the vest and belt in your personal luggage. The original steadicam case is oversized luggage which is $$$ and doesn't roll well at all. Pick up for free in NYC otherwise buyer pays for shipping and insurance. Questions? - Email me at info@zachzamboni.com and we can setup a call. Thank you! ***Only steadicam original monitor is included Boland Monitor pictured below is NOT included.
  2. First off, I know this thread should be in the Arm's section of this forum. I'm posting here to get more views, admins if you would like to move it, go ahead. Nope it wasn't the spring that broke. I was oping a music video with a Red One, red drive, vlock batt, a nikkor 50mm, red one monitor, and a Bartech on the top stage. After balancing my Zephyr I began loading the Arm, it was maxed out, but still properly operable. The arm's were slightly raised. After Oping on and off for 6 hours or so, I was in-between takes talking to the Director and KACHING.... the whole rig dropped. Luckily I prevented the rig from hitting the ground. See picture below. I emailed Dan Ikeda via advice from a local Steadicam Operator and friend in the SF Bay Area. Now I'm asking you guys, what to do next? I Have insurance with a $1,500 deductible as well. Brent

  7. Hey all, I have a used Steadicam Zephyr for sale. I am in NJ and I am willing to pick up shipping costs for anything inside the USA. The rig is in great shape, and works as it is intended to. It has the standard monitor that was shipped with it brand new, which I bought for around $9500 a few years ago. Battery - V-Lock Has all weights Comes with a Steadi Stand and a hard rolling travel case.

  9. I bought this Zephyr from another steadicam forum member. It has worked out great. A custom monitor yoke and the grip were added. Both are removable. The OE tiffen monitor mount hardware is included. I never had any issues with the arm, sled, or vest while operating. All components in the kit are in great working condition. No missing parts. Items have typical signs of use. Mainly seen on the vest and a few nicks on the outside of the arm. It has been carefully looked after by myself as it was by the original owner. It is time to make some space and find this system a new home. I am asking $5000.00 on the complete system: (sled, arm, vest, one dovetail, docking bracket, removable weights, low mode bracket, and thermodyne case) These system extensions are available to add individually when purchasing the zephyr. PM interest about which pieces and I will get you a total price. (4) steadicube V-mount batteries(all batteries charge fully) with Dual charger Second V-mount battery hanger Extra Zephyr Dovetail Vehicle mount w/Zephyr socket block Once the kit sells I will relist the remaining items. Pricing is reflective for a quick sale. The condition is really stellar considering the price. High resolution photos here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9lai6ipmrldeynk/AACIR7w8z3EGs3WGZNNKmeBea?dl=0 Equipment located in Nashville Tennessee. Paypal is OK. If you prefer to use PayPay any fees are the buyer's responsibility. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility. I will ship to buyers preference. US only. brianzaczek@ g m a i l .com
  10. The Steadicam Zephyr for sale is in excellent condition. I’m the original owner and have kept this Steadicam package like new showing little to no wear. The system is V-Mount and comes with everything that is needed. This kit includes a 7" TV Logic 074w monitor which I used as my main HD monitor on the rig. The Steadicam SD monitor was originally sold with the Zephyr and it served as a backup monitor. Both monitors are included with the package. There are 2 x IDX Endura 7s with dual charger that I used for lighter builds and 4x IDX HL9s with quad charger that I used for more traditional setups. Asking $8,000 OBO and buyer pays shipping. The rig is currently located in NY. There is a complete list of items included and photos of everything below. Kit Includes: Zephyr Sled Zephyr Arm Zephyr Standard Vest 2 x IDX Endura 7s IDX Dual Charger 4 x IDX HL9s IDX Quad Charger VL-4S Steadicam SD Monitor HD Monitor - 7" TV Logic 074W with custom Zephyr power cable (also includes AC power cable and monitor bracket) Thermodyne Rolling Case Docking Bracket Dovetail Balancing Weights American Steadicam Stand Low Mode F-Bracket 2 x BNC cable 12V Power cable Manual & Instructional DVD Please message me with any questions and I'd be more than happy to answer them. Cheers, Mike
  11. Hi-ho, everyone. Anyone know if there's anything particularly special about the official Tiffen 2nd Battery Plate for Zephyr besides the 12V/24V mode switch? I have some spare parts lying around: - AB plate with D-Tap - Threaded cheeseplate - D-Tap to 3-pin LEMO cable And I was thinking if I simply attach an AB plate to the cheese plate to the bottom of the sled (where the second battery plate would also attach) and plug from D-Tap to 3-pin LEMO IN on the sled base to,swill that give me the equivalent of 24V mode or 12V mode?
  12. I'm selling my Steadicam zephyr HD. This is a great rig for anyone looking to get into Steadicam operating. I've only had it for 8 months and it is still under warranty. Everything included 9 lb to 23 lb Payload 28" Two-Stage Adjustable Iso-Elastic Arm Sled with Tool-Free Three-Axis Gimbal Dual-Axis Vernier Adjustable Stage Telescoping Carbon Fiber Center Post 7" HD LCD Monitor Standard Vest Gold Mount Battery Plate Docking Bracket and Dovetail Plate HD BNC and 3-Pin LEMO Connectors I am also including 2 anton bauer batteries, ab dual charger and zephyr low mode bracket. I just had the sled, arm and vest serviced at tiffen burbank. Everything is in great condition and it's been very well taken care of. Everything here cost me $12,000 and Asking $8500 OBO. Buyer pays shipping and paypal fees. It is located in Los Angeles. Email at jvidart@gmail.com or send me a pm here.
  13. Hello, although I´ve been working very successfully with my Glidecam HD2000 (FS700+7Q), I´ve really big problems starting with my Alexa on my new Zephyr rig. Actual state: The down rigged Alexa Classic is about 16-17lbs (7-9kg). I use 2 V-Mounts for sled weights with the optional small dove tail, static and dynamic balance is very well, drop time about 2 sec. The zephyr arm was changed to the new A30 from Tiffen while purchase, the vest fits perfectly, no shoulder space here. Unfortunately there are no Steadicam workshops in middle europe, so I haven't visited one. I already ordered the operators handbook, I watched all YT tutorials (Ted Churchill is a god!) out there and I read lots of topics in here. I know, yes, there is lot of practice needed and can´t be learned in weeks, but with my huge experience with the Glidecam, the basic sled balancing is not the point. I am an absolutely newbie working with an vest+arm! My problem is now: The shots are not floating, nearly every step is visible, by walking normally, missionary. No vibrations here, the post is as short as possible for both balancing types successfully done. I use the arm goofy now, but I tried it regular as well with no improvement in the result. So, some basic questions concerning the arm are still open, maybe one of you can help me here fixing my problem: 1) I know that the gimbal hand should touch the post very slightly, so I do. (like i did on the Glidecam) But what about the other hand? Should it touch the gimbal handle also just slightly or is it better to hold it more stronger, to avoid transferring steps to the sled? 2) All the basic sled stabilization should be done by my body. So if I walked down a line (missionary), touching the gimbal+handle with my hands is not necessary - is that right? The hands are just for directing and lifting the sled, but only if needed? 3) The Zephyr operation manual tells me to setup the arms about 5-10° up horizontal. But what about the weight with e.g. Alexa? Would it be better if I set the arm down for less stiffness with the heavy Alexa? What is the best arm setup for slow following/walking shots? 4) The Zephyr operation manual tells me to set the side crews on the arm socket differently on the top and bottom. If I just turned the bottom screw all the way in and leave the upper screw a bit out, is the arm&sled&cam still secure? What about the rollers, how should they be set for using an Alexa/16lbs? All in or out? (Maybe there is an experienced operator, who can tell me this in german, the operation manual is really written dizzily in this point...) and: 5) If somebody knows: Is there a hot swap available with the Alexa by using the small dove tail (V-Mount)? If yes, how to plug?? What is the 1/2 switch for? Thanks a lot for any help, I´d really appreciate. I don´t know any operator (with a similar rig) in my area for asking directly. I swear I practise every free minute, but these points above really make me mad... Cheers, Paul Austria

  21. Hello all! So I have been on a couple of steadicam courses and up until now have been the owner of a Ronin and an M15, but finally investing in my first Steadicam. I have had experience using the Steadicam Zephyr and have a budget of around £10,000. I won't be putting any more weight on than about 23lb (weight of the Zephyr), but could I get something better for my money second hand? Yes I am based in the UK, so prices are in GBP. Thanks in advance! Chris
  22. Hello All, I have been having an issue with my Steadicam Zephyr. I have recently upgraded my monitor to a Shogun Flame and sometimes when im in a RF intense area (near audio antenna's) my Shogun seems to drop the video signal and when i leave the area, the video comes back. I did modify the original Hirose cable that came with the Zephyr from the 4 pin xlr to a barrel plug so i could power through the same connection.. The SDI cable on that Hirose cable is pretty thin and i believe that it could be that cable that is being affected by interference. Im also suspecting that that maybe its the SDI cabling throughout the rig itself. if anyone has any information on what the issue could be i would greatly appreciate it! Heres the cable that i'm talking about. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/875135-REG/steadicam_807_7510_02_monitor_cable_for_7.html
