  1. hey yall i was handed a teradek bolt to try for today on set and i have a questions regarding the receiver and power sources. the package contents contain 2x ptap to lemo, suggesting to me that a cable would go to each the transmitter and receiver. the transmitter worked fine with the cable and patp power. i had the receiver screwed atop a smallhd ac7, which was powered by an anton bauer dionic 90 and hytron 140 for testing. the monitor received power normally but when i plugged the teradek receiver in via ptap to lemo, the monitor shut off and the battery meter flashed. i tried this with a vmount adapter and battery (not connected to the monitor) with the same result. when the receiver is plug into dc power it works fine. the teradek bolt power input reads 6-28v i am still behind on my eletrical knowledge. why would none of the batteries power the bolt? im sure this is somethin as simple as "it draws too many volts," but why does the the input show 6-28v? have a good one. brett.
  2. I've got a small run of voltage adapters and USB cables. The voltage adapter has a standard D-tap cable in and a 2.1mm DC jack out, and the USB cables are available in either micro or mini. 2A max. Perfect for charging phones, or for small on-camera lights that need USB inputs. I can also provide extra 2.1mm cables to power 5V accessories (e.g., Monoprice SDI-HDMI adapters that run on 5V.) Shipping's extra, but it won't be much. Coming from Kentucky, USA. PayPal, Venmo, Apple Cash all accepted.
  3. Hey! Looking for some Hytron 140s that still holds a good charge. I'm located in Sweden but I am willing to buy from anywhere in the world as long as the shipping costs doesn't kill me! I'm also looking for a full size A/B gold mount plate (not the QRC, compact version). Cheers!
  4. Being inspired by similar designs by Rencher, Germond and Bard I finally received the parts to do something I've been wanting to do for a while and thought I'd share it as I'm sure others can build and improve on it. It always bothered me that I had an internal battery in the Hyperdeck which really doesn't last long enough to be useful for my purposes other than if an alternate power source was disconnected without me knowing. I also didn't like how heavy the BMD cheeseplate is as well as always having to come up with some sort of way to power the thing from p-tap to barrel which aren't always available after adding FF, HD Transmitter, Monitor etc. I've always liked several camera back solutions I've seen where we can just stack devices with the last item being a battery powering it all. So with all this in mind and getting some info from Iain on his great mod, I went to work. Here are photos of my phase 1 mod: Male Gold Mount Plate powering Hyperdeck and the Female Gold Mount: http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1534.jpg http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1536.jpg Unfortunately given the size and design of the female plate I had to offset it to keep the centre balance correct: http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1538.jpg Mounted on an AB mount installed on back of camera cage, could also go on the back of monitor with an AB plate: http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1541.jpg http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1540.jpg Stacked on battery hanger: http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1542.jpg Alternate method however I haven't tested this yet as I need to investigate and ensure that it's safe to power the Hyperdeck from the CAM PTAP to Hyperdeck Barrel which would essentially loop the power back in the system which may be a huge no-no. If I can't do this then I'll have to stack a battery on the hyperdeck or install a kill-switch on the female AB plate. I do like the balance of a single battery setup when possible so hopefully I can get it to work. http://www.mommaertsdmp.ca/images/url/IMG_1545.jpg For Phase 2: - I want to put an on/off switch on the Hyperdeck but am weary of it getting accidentally switched. - Like Iain's mod, I'll be installing some BNC terminals. - I'd like to install another switch which would disable the power to the female plate, again though would want to make sure it's located in a knock free zone. - Maybe both these switches will go on the bottom of the male AB plate as that area is fairly protected. - Another option, if I can't loop the power, would be to use the male side of the hyperdeck and use an intersex plate from Alan when available, then run a ptap to barrel to power the Hyperdeck. - I'd like to use authentic AB male and female plates however I have been unsuccessful finding the latter, so I ordered from ebay/china which is never my preference as nothing is every exact fitment wise (If any of you know where I can buy a smaller but good quality powered female plate please let me know). Anyway, I welcome any ideas, thoughts or comments good or bad.

  6. Hey ops, Just curious what your thoughts are on the new Cine Bats from AB. To me they look too chunky and square. Obviously the specs look great but real, in the field, use is always better. These are the ones I'm talking about. http://www.antonbauer.com/en-US/Shop/cine-batteries CHEERS
  7. I'm in the process of getting my CineLive kit all finished and I'm in need of a Monitor, Batteries and Charger, and PRO cables. Monitor: SmallHD DP7 Pro High Bright or really anything else that will become a backup/director's monitor when I can get the new Transvideo Stargate. Batteries & Charger: Anton Bauer Dionic HCs and a suitable charger (preferably a quad simultaneous charger) PRO Cables: I need to power a Teradek Bolt Pro Tx and a Digital Bartech Rx Thanks everyone, Michael
  8. I have an Anton Bauer battery Dionic 90, lately the battery display indicates to me that is 80% of the load, but the camera reads no load (and it is only with this battery), I do not know how to reset the display battery and that tells me the actual load. I start to charge the battery and tells me immediately that load from green blinking, so if there is no load, is not normal.
  9. Selling my Gen 1 Steadicam Flyer. Great deal for newbies. Upgraded with Peter Abraham's Zalex handle ($200), which gives you a 'big rig' feel. I loved operating with it! Comes with: 4 x Anton Bauer Ni-Cad batteries with dual charger Flyer Compact Vest (for smaller/thinner ops). Steadi Stand Low Mode F Bracket Hard Case Steadicam Operator's Handbook + DVD (brand new) Travels well in one case. Great for documentary or corporate work. Red camera set-up and Small HD monitor not included (of course). Just wanted to show how I normally fly it. That's a lil shy of 15lbs. Asking for $4000. Free ground shipping within the US from San Francisco, CA. Email me if you have questions: peggyperalta@gmail.com
  10. Going spare is my original AB battery set which I've replaced with a set of high capacity v-locks. The batteries are set of 4 x Anton Bauer ProPac 14.4v 65Wh batteries that were re-celled before I got them last year. They have not had a huge amount of use since I got them as I have been mostly using lighter batteries. They seem to keep their charge fine but I've mainly been using them to power the monitor so not exactly been stressed! They are pretty heavy so have been useful for balancing heavier cameras. The charger is a Logic Series Lifesaver Magnum. Its all fairly battered cosmetically but seems to work fine! Based in the UK, asking for £100 OBO.
  11. Hello Steadicam Forum, Over the past few years, Teradek has found an appreciation for the community and individuals here in the SteadicamForum. Whether it be excellent technical discussions regarding our technology or feedback to create new products like the Bolt Sidekick! 12. For Sale (Obviously) Recon Ultra TX/RX Kit (Everything shown included) I've had this guy on the shelf for a while and need to give it a new home. ASKING $2,000 OBO Perfect working order. This has been a solid device for me - on par with Bolt Pro (not Bolt 2000 or Tomahawk). Extra set of rubber ducky antennas in addition to the fan-blade antennas that came with it. Wiring upgrade to allow the AB mounts to pass power through to the p-taps. Quieter fan installed than what it came with (factory install).
  13. This is an extra plate I made when making a few of these recently - it's a plate to mount Decimator MD-HX converters (as well as MD-CROSS and similarly shaped "new" Decimators) to the back of Cinetronic and other monitors using their AB Battery mount. Bolt it to your converter and snap it on, and you don't have to worry about PSF issues or compatibility anymore (no Velcro necessary!). Comes in a beautiful chalkboard black anodized finish. Likely to be the last one I have of these for a few weeks. Asking $200 shipped via USPS Priority (2 days inside the US). Email me at willsvideo@gmail.com. See picture of it in use here: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=22727&p=111922

  15. Hello guys, I need some advice. I am planning to buy some new (or used) batteries for my hopefully soon ariving new sled. (Most likely mid july, therefore I'll need the batteries around the same time) Seems like the Dionic HC are still the gold standard in the Steadicam world but im worried because its an a little bit dated product and (right now) way more expensive than the G90. The G90. It seems they don't get much love from the Steadicam world and paul promised an alternative which is finally here but most likely won't be available early enough for me. Hint: Trade-In for new G90s once the XCell are finally here? Also these weird looking new chargers called "Performance" gathered my interest. Long story short: What's the way to go for a 6 Battery setup with a deadline around mid july? Thank you guys.

  18. hey yall i have a smallHD DP7 OLED that went in for repairs a few months (apparently the main board fried out of nowhere) and after paying for that expense it has sat on the shelf for a bit but has seen some use. I used it last week and for the second or third time the Anton Bauer battery attached to the monitor's plate shorted while in use. The battery's display went blank and the monitor shut down. The battery was powering a teradek receiver via ptap and the smallHD via the plate and the included cables. Do yall know what could be causing this? It has for sure happened with different batteries. Id like to send it in to smallHD but it is pretty well in use for the next few weeks. While I dig the monitor and its features, i probably will not purchase another. anyways, any insight would be helpful. have a good one brett.
