  1. So I have a modified EFP sled that I had rewired by Terry for HD and 12/24v last year. Came to the conclusion my gimbal needs to be re-centered so I brought it to Robert Luna. He needs the gimbal off the post so he can work on it. I futzed around with it and realized I have no way of removing the gimbal off the sled. There's no break point in the cable line anywhere between my top stage and bottom stage. It's a wrapped bundle from top to bottom. My thoughts are I have two, maybe three options: 1. Bring the sled back to Terry and create a break point 2. Disconnect/cut the cables somewhere, get the gimbal fixed, then reconnect cables/Terry creates a break point wherever I cut cables. 3. If I can't just add a break in the line, have Terry disconnect, Luna fixes the gimbal, then Terry reconnects everything (basically I don't take any chances doing it myself and causing horrible, horrible damage). Is there something else I can do? Someone else who can shim my gimbal while it's still on the post? Save me from this cruel fate? I've attached three photos sort of showing the cable. My set up: MKV carbon fiber 2 stage post EFP gimbal EFP top stage EFP/modified battery rack Any help is greatly appreciated. I really want to get this sled up and running at 100% again soon!

I've messed up my gimbal. in fact I erased the EEPROM while trying to fix another issue and all the 5 default factory profiles for my gimbal are lost. does anyone here have these profiles. I would appreciate it a lot if you could help me out, I'm really frustrated. if you have a DS1 gimbal please make a back up of your profiles via the BGC (link below) software and send me a copy of the profiles. it only takes 5 minutes but I'll be grateful a lifetime. Please guys, I won't be able to tune my gimbal without these profiles. My email is shoghi.pouria[at]gmail.com https://www.basecamelectronics.com/files/SimpleBGC_GUI_2_63b0.zip please help me!

  10. Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Canon 750D which I use to film short films. I'm relatively new to the world of DSLR's and noticed that my camera was very shaky, to the point where some footage is almost unusable despite the fact I used a shoulder rig. I looked into getting a gimbal after seeing how effective my friends one was, but even though my camera and lens combination was in the weight limit, I couldn't get the gimbal to balance and had to send it back. I think I couldn't balance it because my lens was weighed more than my camera. My camera weighs 604g and my lens of choice (a Sigma 18-35mm) weighs 842g. I spent more than £600 on that lens recently and love the look of it, so I don't really want to change it. Does anyone know a combination that would work with my Canon 750D and Sigma lens? I was looking at a Zhiyun Crane 3-Axis Gimbal but am hesitant about spending so much money in case I can't get a refund. Also, can someone tell me if I need a gimbal, could a steadicam or glidecam act as a cheaper alternative? All I'm really looking for is a perfectly smooth image, I'd rather have something portable and handheld too. Thank you!
  11. I am not sure that it belongs in this forum, but here it goes anyway. I often cary around my iPhone 7 Plus, it is the handiest "rig" I have. Even though I am looking forward to the "Volt" I tried one of the gimbals available on the market. It is difficult to walk with the system without experiencing an annoying bobbing effect. I decided to build a small z-axis enhancement based on Garrett Brown's patent (sorry). It is strictly for my own consumption, but it could be useful sometimes for other than myself, so I decided to share it. I moved the grip vertically under the center of gravity, so it is acceptable to hold without too much wrist discomfort, it's fairly small and it works. Please feel free to remove this post if it is too inappropriate. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/hXX7Vgk_wMw

  13. We are launching a new camera operation tool on Kickstarter March 6 2017 and would love to hear everyone's feedback. My skin is actually rather thin, but feel free to be brutal! ;-) The website: https://www.kinehawk.com/ Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/187986811 The Kickstarter preview (becomes a live link march 6): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...token=416bca38 It is designed to be a kind of camera operation multi tool. Support and spatially stabilise gimbals, attach to a vehicle or trackless dolly for stabilised tracking, attach to a fluid head for a different kind of hand held or add another module that gives it "easyrig " functionality. It also has quick release connections and toolless adjustment for speed of use on set. The gimbal can be inverted on the arm and the arm can be raised or lowered along it's support shaft, to achieve very high, or very low angles or allow you to move under, and close to overhead structure like doors or branches. It also has a fairly narrow silhouette for moving through narrow doors or passages. So yes. Really looking forward to what you guys have to say.

  23. MK-V Evolution Sled, Sachtler Gimbal, Marell Green Screen Monitor & TV Logic Selling some of my old gear today. NOTE: This is NOT a complete sled! But it’s close. Technically all you’d need are a few cables and a top stage and you would have a fully functional sled. On with the show... Here’s what I’ve got for sale: MK-V Evolution battery rack, 1.5” two-stage center post and top/bottom SD electronics. Originally the battery plate was PAG-Lok but I had an AB battery plate mounted to it. It’s not a perfect fit but it worked for me for a year and a half. There is some wear and tear on the center post and on the battery rack extension rods. Doesn’t affect the functionality of the rig. Included with the MK-V sled is my Marell green screen and MK-V telescoping monitor mount. Everything is in good working order. Very little wear. Works like a charm. This is the bare-bones version that Marell made so the only built in features are adjustable frame lines and brightness/contrast control (unfortunately you cannot flip the image for easy low-mode; the only major problem I ever had with the monitor). I’m also including a little smorgasbord of extra brackets and rods for the Evolution battery base. $6,500 OBO Sachtler Gimbal for 1.5” center post with gimbal wrench. Gimbal is in good working shape though the stickers on the yoke have come off but other than that everything else seems to be in great condition though for the record I am the second owner and it hasn’t been serviced in the time that I have owned it. That being said, I never had any problems with the gimbal. $2,000 OBO TV Logic LVM-071W monitor with V-mount battery plate on the back. It also comes with a case/sun shade setup, strap included, as well as a rack mount for the monitor. $850 OBO If you're interested in combining some of the items or looking to purchase the whole lot at once I'm willing to work out a discount. Buyer pays shipping. Pick-ups are welcome (located in LA near Silver Lake/Echo Park). If you have any questions, feel free to email me: aaron.gantt@gmail.com Cheers! ~Aaron
  24. Hi All, Up for sale is a Pro Gear gimbal and grip for 1.5" posts. I've been told that this is basically a copy of GPI's PRO gimbal, in terms of design. As for function, all I can say is that it works. It seems to work well. Pan and tilt feel smooth, there's no felt friction or vibrations, and it doesn't make any noise. It seems to be field serviceable, as you can see in the pics attached. I'm not sure if the PRO gimbal tool works with this one, but you can break down the major components, including the main pan bearing, which you can also access, clean, and/or replace. The yoke fork bearings are accessible by removing the bearing caps, which are just screwed into place. Is it as good as a real PRO? I've never used a PRO gimbal, so I can't compare, but I can't imagine that something that is an off brand copy is ever really as good as the real deal. I certainly wouldn't buy this thinking it would be. That being said, buyer beware -- apparently, there's a long and sordid history with the company that produced these gimbals (Pro Gear). You can search for it on the forum, but the long and short of it seems to be that the company was really, really bad with customer service. And the bottom line is the company is no longer in business. So if you're looking to get it serviced, you're probably on your own. You won't find support from the manufacturer. Looking for $1000, but I'm open to offers! Drop me a line here, or mail me at beau800@gmail.com Thanks for looking! Beau
  25. Hello Everyone, I am selling a barely used Letus Helix. The helix system was first engineered to complement a steadicam, by adding a top stage gimbal to the sled. A sample video of how that would work is linked to this post. At first I thought I would utilize it in such a manner, but never found the proper shoot for it. At this point, I need to move on to other ventures, and the system is no longer viable for me. The helix comes equipped with a Blue Tooth and RC module. The package includes: Letus Helix: 3 Axis Stabilizer. New from BH: $3,999 Letus Helix Batteries (2). New From BH: $149 each Letus Helix Pelican Case: New From BH: $399 Letus Helix Cable Package: New From BH: $150 Total new: $4,847 Buyer Pays Shipping. Links of Helix in use: https://vimeo.com/106169050 https://vimeo.com/111800857 https://vimeo.com/102221706 Thank you for your time and attention.
