  1. Hi all, The BBC have given me permission to share the following video online, which was shot by notable nature cameraman Richard TaylorJones for BBC Springwatch Extra last year, which was broadcast last summer. I had been doing PSC stuff for the programme as well as some TriCaster work on the Red Button show, but had been given some Steadicam shots to do after a few of the other crew told a producer who I was! (It helped that I'd taught a couple of them on the National Film & TV School Steadicam course the previous year...!) So I was just practicing with the camera setup they wanted in the production village when this happened... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/pOTC0rkQi_0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Direct link: http://youtu.be/pOTC0rkQi_0?t=53s Hope I got everything right - I was put rather on the spot!!
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm a new member and an aspiring steadicam op. I'm attending SAE Institute London and currently working on my second year dissertation. As part of my work I need to interview a film industry professional. Since my goal is to become a certified steadicam operator I thought I'd interview someone from this line of work. My supervisor (and steadicam instructor) suggested that I sign up to this forum and see if anyone is available to answer a few questions. In total there are 7 questions. How detailed you want your answers to be is up to you (though some detail is preferable). The criteria is that you need to be an industry professional (not a student) with a few years of experience and must have at least 5 IMDb credits under your belt. If anyone is interested please send me an email to: andrew.fisun@gmail.com and I will send you the questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Andrew
  3. Hi I'm a student at Birmingham City University and am doing my dissertation about Steadicam and low-budget alternatives. I wish to contact a Steadicam Operator who I can do a quick email/phone interview with as part of my research. I wish to know information about why the Steadicam costs so much, the future of the Steadicam (as cameras get smaller and lighter) and also an experts opinion on why the Steadicam is better than other alternatives. If anyone here knows an operator who may be willing or is an operator themselves you contact me they can email me at Jacob.williams1@mail.bcu.ac.uk Also if anyone has any responses to the questions, suggestions of alternatives I shouldlook into that would be great. Thanks :-)
